Chapter 243 Demonic Insects Inside the Body

"What did you just say?" Lin Jingge cast a sharp glance at him, her tone turning cold.

If there really is a powerful force behind them, no wonder they are so arrogant and domineering, even coming to make false accusations. It turns out they have already gone astray!

"Anyway, you must have resorted to underhanded tactics!"

Realizing they had let something slip, the Yunxiao Sect disciples wished they could slap themselves a few times. Now, under the watchful eyes of so many onlookers, they could only bury their heads under their hoods, slink away in a line, and quickly slip away, not wanting to stay a second longer.

The initial hostility that came to cause trouble has vanished, and they seem like mere clowns making a brief appearance.

The team leader, who was trying to maintain order, overheard this and a glint of light flashed in his eyes. He clearly hadn't expected that someone would actually cheat in this year's competition for resources, and do so so openly.

This only shows that they are not thinking straight and dare to mess with the powerful.

So, after the team leader returned, he told the dean of the South Campus, Qingjian, about it.

Qingjian is the highest-level array master on the Cloud Cauldron Continent, and his knowledge and experience are several levels higher than those of his juniors.

Now that the South Campus has been nearly defeated, the Dean might go there to demand an explanation.

"I had a feeling it was coming. There's no way the strange fire wouldn't be unusable for no reason. The kid who went on stage today has a very solid foundation. He shouldn't have made such a mistake at a crucial moment."

Dean Qing paced back and forth, his long robe swaying in the gentle breeze. His eyes held a few indescribable emotions, and no one could understand what was on his mind at that moment.

"Since you know, why don't you..." This time, it was the team leader who was completely confused.

This would harm the interests of their own Southern Academy. In the past, they would probably have reported it to the authorities to disqualify Yunxiao Sect from the competition. But now, why is it so calm, like still water before a storm?

Dean Qing pondered for a while before saying calmly, "Let's put this matter aside for now. We're in the middle of a heated competition, and I don't want this to interfere with the matches. We can settle the score later, won't that be the same?"

Having said that, he put his hands behind his back and walked away. His magnanimity and intelligence were truly admirable.

What is this called? This is called considering the big picture and formulating a plan based on the overall situation.

That night, things weren't peaceful on the other side either.

"What did you say? You actually revealed that I suppressed that person's strange fire? This pig brain... It's not the god-like opponents you should fear, it's the pig-like teammates!"

Upon hearing the report from his disciples, the sect leader of Yunxiao Sect was so angry that his beard trembled, and he almost lost his balance, spilling a lot of tea onto the table.

"What are you all doing with your brains? You're more likely to cause trouble than get anything done."

The elder standing to the side also thought to himself that they had ruined a great deal. This was originally something they had done in secret. In principle, apart from the group of people inside the clan, no one else knew about it. Now, weren't they exposing their biggest secret to the enemy?

Now look what's happened! They'll definitely be condemned by everyone and become the target of public criticism!

The elder, frustrated and disappointed, punched several disciples, giving them a small lesson that made them cry out in pain.

But since they were the ones who caused this trouble, they dared not utter a single complaint.

If I had known, I shouldn't have gone to find that woman named Lin Jingge to cause trouble. I didn't find anything wrong with her, and instead, I ended up not being able to protect myself.

The sect leader and elders of the Cloud Soaring Sect exchanged a glance, unsure of what to do, feeling both angry and afraid.

Regardless, maintaining stable relations between the two sides is of utmost importance. After pondering for a while, the sect leader dismissed the disciples and discussed the matter with the elders again: "Let's take some gifts and go to the Southern Academy to seek peace. If they notice anything amiss, we can create a way for them to back down; if they don't, then we'll have done them a favor."

This was a brilliant idea. The elder nodded in immediate agreement and hurriedly ordered people to prepare luxurious gifts. They set off in a grand procession to sue for peace, hoping that the timeframe wouldn't be too tight.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Lin Jingge is helping her senior brother from the Southern Academy to expel the demonic insects from his body.

Her beautiful eyes were tightly closed, her long eyelashes fluttered, and her expression grew increasingly solemn.

This demonic insect was no ordinary creature. Even though she poured her power into her hands to explore it, it crawled very fast and always managed to burrow into places where she had no sense of it, as if it had its own intelligent brain.

This is no small matter from any perspective; it's not something an ordinary person can easily resolve.

It has to be said that the Yunxiao Clan really went to great lengths, resorting to this tactic to win the match.

"How are you? Are you alright? You look a bit tired." The senior brother from the South Academy frowned slightly, looking at her expression, and was momentarily flustered.

If the contents of his body are not expelled, he will never be able to use the strange fire again and will probably become a cripple for life.

"I heard that a curse was cast on your body and it's now sealed?" Dean Qing lifted the curtain and slowly walked in, his shrewd eyes scanning the room.

"Yes! Dean, you know about this too?" Senior Brother Nanyuan nodded after a few seconds of silence.

"Of course, I already know who's behind it all. What's the situation now? Can we get rid of that monster?" Dean Qing turned his gaze to Lin Jingge again and asked.

A white mist of power emanated from Lin Jingge's left and right hands, merging back and forth. She lunged forward, nodding imperceptibly in affirmation.

There is nothing in this world that she cannot solve. Although the process is difficult and arduous, she will always succeed.

After an unknown amount of time, when the candles on the table were almost extinguished, Lin Jingge finally expelled the demonic worm from her senior brother's body in the Southern Academy.

It appeared out of thin air, its long body wriggling, its tail black, and its movements were very eerie. A faint purple light and demonic aura emanated from it, making it look anything but ordinary.

"Is he the thing that sealed my strange fire? He's not very big, but his abilities are so strong." The senior brother from the South Academy muttered to himself.

"This thing looks somewhat like a demon." Lin Jingge opened her eyes and gasped. It has to be said, they really went all out to bring out such an evil creature.

“Indeed.” Dean Qing nodded in agreement. “I suspect that the Cloud Soaring Sect has ties with the Demon Clan. Otherwise, why would all of them, from the elders to the disciples, be so arrogant and domineering? They would never do such a thing without some powerful backing.”

These rational guesses are probably close to the truth. They have a feeling that there is an even bigger conspiracy that has not been brought to the surface, but is being brewed little by little in the background.
