Chapter 42 The Dispute in the Spirit Field

After a night of cultivation, I felt refreshed and invigorated. Although my injuries had not fully healed, my spiritual energy was now abundant.

Lin Jingge went to the place where Grandma Lin stayed.

After this period of time, Granny Lin has already accelerated the ripening of the first batch of spiritual plants.

Accelerating the growth of spiritual plants is almost her entire job.

Qian Zhong was overjoyed when he received the harvested spiritual plants.

When Lin Jingge went there, Qian Zhong's family was at the superior spiritual field.

Her gaze fell on the two people beside Qian Zhong.

She recognized Qian Suisui; the other person had been coming to see her frequently these days. The other person was Qian Zhong's eldest son.

The fire poison has been neutralized, and the fiery aura around him has dissipated considerably. He no longer appears violent and aggressive, but rather gentle and polite.

Granny Lin and the others stood to the side, watching the people Qian Zhong brought harvest the spiritual plants.

The spiritual plants that Granny Lin grew were different from those of others, but Qian Zhong didn't think much of it, assuming that the cultivation method she used was different from others.

While talking to Qian Zhong, Granny Lin suddenly realized something and turned around to meet Lin Jingge's eyes.

She looked towards Lin Jingge.

"Grandma." Lin Jingge pulled Lin Shu forward.

Originally, she wanted to discuss Chu Wang's matter with Granny Lin, but seeing Qian Zhong there, she suppressed her thoughts.

Just then, a group of people suddenly appeared in this direction.

As the person approached, Lin Jingge realized that the person was someone she recognized.

"Second brother, what brings you here?" Qian Zhong frowned as he looked at the person who approached him.

The spiritual plants in the spiritual field haven't been harvested yet, so his second brother's arrival probably doesn't mean anything good.

"Brother, you've done a terrible job," Qian Guo said, stepping forward and shaking his head in disappointment.

He looked behind Qian Guo and, even though his cultivation level was low, he could still feel the gentle aura emanating from the spiritual plant.

Compared to the spiritual rice and vegetables in his mansion, he felt more comfortable, and the spiritual energy was much richer. A light green mist floated over the entire top-grade spiritual field. No one had ever seen such a scene before, but it was the best way to see the extraordinary nature of these spiritual plants.

At first, he scoffed at the fact that the eldest son's family had taken in a tenant with the cultivation level of a spiritualist, but now it seems that he had misunderstood.

Anyone who can get Qian Zhong to accept them must be no ordinary person.

"What do you mean?!" Qian Zhong, who was initially a little guilty about eating alone, immediately frowned upon hearing his words.

Lin Jingge quickly pulled Granny Lin aside to prevent her from being accidentally injured.

Once they reached a safe distance, Lin Jingge calmly sat on the sidelines, enjoying the show.

"What do I mean? This spirit field is a family resource, brother. In my opinion, things that come out of it should be shared by everyone," Qian Guo said righteously.

However, a hint of shrewdness in his eyes betrayed him.

Qian Zhong was furious.

It's true that the spirit field belongs to the family, but the spirit stones produced from planting the spirit plants were all paid for by him alone, and he also exchanged the right to use the spirit field for spirit stones on his own.

It can be said that for the next six months, this spiritual field will belong to him.

His beloved second brother once again lowered the bar in his heart.

Hearing several elders echoing Qian Guo's sentiments while their eyes greedily lingered on the spirit field behind Qian Zhong, Qian Zhong felt a surge of anger.

“Clan leader, your second brother is right. This spirit field is also a clan resource, and the produce should be shared by everyone.” The First Elder stepped out from behind Qian Guo.

He controls the allocation of family resources, and his words carry the most weight.

However, Qian Zhong changed his attitude.

He'd had enough of this oppressive treatment; what clan leader was like him?

If it weren't for the fact that he had to decline the Elders' Council meeting because of the secret realm, Qian Zhong would have quit long ago.

He used to be very cautious because he was afraid that these elders wouldn't support him, but now he's not afraid anymore.

Qian Zhong waved his hand and pointed at the elder who had stepped forward, saying, "A month ago, I rented this land from you using my private treasury. You even charged me two spirit stones extra back then. Is the elder's memory that bad that he's forgotten?!"

After saying that, Qian Zhong snorted coldly, flicked his sleeves, and put his hands behind his back.

He and the Grand Elder were of equal cultivation, and neither of them feared the other.

The elder, who had been questioning the others, suddenly remembered this matter.

He was just too envious and thought Qian Zhong would give him face, but who knew that the other party would criticize him so harshly.

The Grand Elder's face was extremely grim.

“Brother, we’re all from the same clan, there’s no need to make things so ugly. Since these things were all grown in your private treasury, we should also contribute some spirit stones.” Qian Guo stepped forward to act as a peacemaker.

His words were clearly shameless. Such high-quality spiritual plants were priceless and unavailable for sale. How could a family like theirs be willing to sell them? His intention was to have Qian Zhong provide the spiritual plants, while he would provide the spirit stones.

By invoking the banner of their own clan, and given that Qian Zhong is the clan chief, refusing to agree to this matter would likely provoke discontent among the clan members.

Before Qian Guo could continue speaking, the Fifth Elder, who had rushed over, shouted, "These things belong to the clan leader, and the clan leader has no obligation to take them out!"

“I’m not taking it for free…” Qian Guo said.

He earned a glare from the Fifth Elder for saying this.

The Fifth Elder walked over to Qian Zhong, fearing that Qian Guo might give away the gifts because of a few words about family righteousness.

“These things are mine, and I won’t sell them,” Qian Zhong said calmly.

His gaze swept over everyone, his expression extremely indifferent.

Qian Guo felt somewhat embarrassed upon hearing this, but then secretly rejoiced.

Qian Zhong has embarrassed the Grand Elder so much that the Grand Elder probably won't support him at the next family assembly!

He thought to himself that although his cultivation level was low, he had a good son. If Qian Zhong couldn't become the clan leader, he could put his son in the position. What wouldn't he want then?!

I should make sure my son gets closer to the Grand Elder another day!

He then glanced sideways at Granny Lin standing to the side, his eyes flashing with determination.

Qian Zhong, standing at the highest position, took in Qian Guoguo's expression, watching his eyes dart around. He knew exactly what his second brother was thinking without even trying.

Qian Zhong coldly saw the guest off.

Having failed to gain any advantage, the elder was too ashamed to stay any longer and left with a cold snort.

Qian Zhong presented a basket of spiritual plants to the Fifth Elder, who declined at first but accepted them nonetheless.

The farce has come to an end.

Lin Jingge, however, was lost in thought.

She hadn't expected her grandmother to be so popular with the Qian family. Thinking back to the way Qian Guo had looked at her before, Lin Jingge felt a chill run down her spine.

She probably can't stay in the Qian family any longer. Chu Wang has already discovered her whereabouts, and it won't be long before he finds out about the Qian family.

He's a chosen one, there's nothing he can't do.

I'm afraid I can't stay in Lingyun City any longer.
