Don't Leave Me (1 / 2)

-

When Shen Jie got off the car, he saw hundreds of men in black fighting with his own guards. Swords flash, blood and debris.

The enemy came well prepared, and hundreds of good horses were shot dead or chopped down.

Chen Jie and Du Yaoyao escaped on foot.

If there was no delicate woman in front of him, Chen Jie would not abandon his subordinates and leave first unless it was absolutely necessary.

Du Yaoyao had never seen a real battle scene with guns and swords. Her heart was pounding very fast and her legs felt weak as she walked.

There was the hissing sound of a sword piercing her abdomen, the thumping sound of a head falling to the ground, and a line of warm blood spurting onto her face and clothes.

"Chen Jie!" She grabbed his clothes tightly.

"Yaoyao, don't be afraid, hold on to me." Chen Jie hugged her shoulders and trotted quickly.

Du Yaoyao was weak and walked slowly, so she had to fall down the stairs twice. After it became completely dark, they hid in a patch of weeds in the woods.

Chen Jie was accompanied by twenty or thirty guards, who relaxed at the moment, with a few of them keeping watch while the others rested on the spot.

It must have been dozens of miles. Du Yaoyao leaned against the sunken steps and asked, "Where is Yan Jin?" The previous scene was so bloody that she was frightened.

Chen Jie said: "We have marked along the way, he can find us after he has dealt with it." When a team travels, they usually agree on secret codes in advance so that they can use them when something happens.

"Hmm." Du Yaoyao licked her lips thirstily.

"Is there any water?" Shen Jie shouted to the guard.

A short man took out a water bottle from his body and handed it to him respectfully, "Yes, I filled it in the teahouse at noon, but I haven't drunk it yet."

Chen Jie took it, looked at the chipped and yellowed spout, and wiped it with his sleeve, "Yaoyao, I'm sorry for asking you to drink some?"

Du Yaoyao had fine food and clothing. Although she was in a hurry on the journey, Shen Jie had a cook ready and never treated her harshly with meat, milk, eggs, not to mention tea.

"It's okay." Du Yaoyao took it generously and gulped down a few big mouthfuls. Chen Jie took out a white handkerchief from his arms and opened it to reveal pastries broken into small pieces.

He said apologetically, "Yaoyao, I packed this hastily before I left. You can just eat a little."

There are wild birds in the forest, but it is not suitable to move around now, let alone to light a fire.

"Chen Jie, you don't have to do this." Du Yaoyao looked at the broken pastry with mixed feelings. Amid the swordplay, he still remembered to bring her dinner.

She lowered her eyes and said, "I am not more precious than you."

"Your stomach is not in good condition." Chen Jie stopped her from talking and handed the cake to her, "Yaoyao, eat some."

Du Yaoyao looked at the people around her, "What about you?"

"This is not enough to fill the gaps between people's teeth." Shen Jie smiled, "When they go out, they carry dry biscuits and steamed buns with them in case of accidents."

Du Yaoyao swallowed the cake in small bites. Chen Jie touched her back, her clothes were wet with sweat. He took a knife and cut off a piece of his undershirt.

"What are you doing?" Du Yaoyao was surprised.

"Your back is wet, let me pad it for you." Chen Jie was really worried that she would get sick. He didn't know how long the harsh living environment would last.
