Du Yaoyao was mentally prepared that Madam Jiang would definitely dislike her, so she followed Chen Jie and sat down on the sandalwood chair beside her.
"Bring Qiuyue and those maids here." Madam Jiang gave the order.
Later, two guards came over, dragging several women who were tied up tightly.
Qiuyue's clothes and hair were disheveled, and her mouth was stuffed with a white cloth. She saw Du Yaoyao sitting in the hall, making strange noises from her throat and making a terrified expression.
Mrs. Jiang was suspicious and instructed, "Take the cloth away and let her talk."

She glanced at one of the three maids and cried, "Mrs. Zhang went to save the young lady, but Madam Shen wouldn't let her. She took the credit for saving the young lady just to clear herself of suspicion. Madam, please don't be fooled by her!"
"Shut up!" Shen Jie frowned and ordered the guards, "Shut up her mouth."
The guard looked at Madam Jiang hesitantly, and after getting Madam Jiang's consent, he pulled Qiuyue to stuff the white cloth back on.
"Ajie, what do you think?" Mrs. Jiang directly ignored Du Yaoyao.
"Yaoyao has just explained the whole story to me." Chen Jie said.
"This maid first took the dragon and phoenix jade pendants that belonged to Shuwan and me and misled Yaoyao into thinking that they were tokens of our love. I gave my jade pendant to Yaoyao a few days ago, and Yaoyao would never believe her nonsense."
"It was she who pushed Yaoyao on the boat, causing Yaoyao to knock Shuwan into the lake."
Mrs. Jiang tapped the tea lid lightly with her slender fingertips, with a noncommittal attitude.
Chen Jie smiled calmly, "Yaoyao sprained her lower back because of this. You can check it yourself."
Mrs. Jiang would never condescend to check on Du Yaoyao's injuries. She ordered the maid beside her to take people to the side room to check.
The old woman came back and reported, "Madam, Madam Shen's waist is red and swollen. It looks like it has been there for about an hour. It must have been injured on the boat."
Madam Jiang stared coldly at the people below the hall, "Qiuyue, what else do you have to say?"
The guard pulled out the cloth gag from Qiuyue's mouth. Qiuyue insisted that it was Du Yaoyao and refused to admit it. "Madam, I am innocent. Madam, you can't help your relatives and ignore the truth. Madam Shen is trying to murder Miss. I am willing to die to prove my loyalty!"
After she finished speaking, she gritted her teeth, blood splattered from her mouth, her face was ferocious, and she fell to the ground with a loud cry.
The guard checked Qiuyue's mouth and breath, and reported to Madam Jiang, "This maid is dead."
"Qiuyue committed suicide out of fear of punishment. Drag her away." Mrs. Jiang waved her hand and determined Qiuyue's guilt with just one sentence.
She turned to the three maids and questioned Shen Jie, "Ah Jie, your wife didn't allow the servants to rescue Shu Wan, what's going on?"
Chen Jie smiled and said, "I also want to ask, what is the relationship between these three women and Qiuyue, or in other words, what is the relationship between them and the person behind Qiuyue?"
Two maids shook their heads desperately and cried with fear. Only one woman with a long face looked at the pool of blood left by Qiuyue on the ground and could not suppress her grief.
Madam Jiang winked, and the guards removed the gags from the three people. The two women cried loudly, huddled away from the long-faced woman, and shouted, "Madam, Aunt Zhang, Aunt Zhang is Qiuyue's godmother!"
