Chapter 106 Robbery (Revised)
The public safety in Queens, New York is obviously much better than in Gothenburg.
The two of them traveled all over the city and the most they did was catch thieves.
Peter pulled the stolen bike to the side of the road and asked loudly,
"Excuse me, whose bike is this? Is there anyone here?"
Rong Huan stood aside as a human standee, watching Peter catch a passerby and ask if the thing was his.
In the end, the bicycle was left in front of the store with a note on it.
[Please don't take it casually, Spider-Man is watching you]
The second half of the sentence was written by Rong Huan. After all, a bicycle can be stolen the first time and the second time, so she simply wrote it to sound more intimidating.
Spider-Man took Rong Huan through the streets and alleys, and finally waited for a group of robbers who didn't look so amateur.
Several people looked around furtively, then quickly transferred the things in their hands into their backpacks.
Peter seized the opportunity to shoot spider silk and snatched the backpack away in one go, and Rong Huan cooperated and caught it.
Spider-Man was hanging on the wall with the child.
"Hey, I guess you guys are not good people."
The bearded leader took out a gun from his pocket with a ferocious look.
"Hand over the things if you know what's good for you!"
Seeing that the opponent didn't move, the bearded man pulled the trigger, but the bullet was intercepted by the spider silk in mid-air.
Peter held Rong Huan in his arms and nimbly jumped onto the second floor platform.
After robbing a bank in the next district, the bearded man planned to divide the loot in the Queen's district, but he met the good citizen Spider-Man who came to his rescue.
He roared and fired repeatedly, and the sound of gunfire echoed throughout the entire block.
The last bullet hit the backpack in Rong Huan's hand, and banknotes instantly flew out of the hole.
It floated from the second floor platform to the entire street.
Rong Huan, Peter: ....finished!
The fleeing crowd turned around and picked up the money when they saw the banknotes, and the crowd rushed forward and stopped the robber.
"Don't squeeze it, it's mine!" / "Bullshit, I picked it up!"
The bearded man, with his magazine empty, was helpless and furious, and was soon surrounded by oncoming police cars.
The robber was caught, but no one knows who took the bank notes that were robbed.
Peter and Rong Huan stood on the street, looking at each other.
After receiving the call for help from the two children, Iron Man rushed over in time.
After hearing the New York richest man's promise to pay him three times the compensation, the bank manager left with a smile on his face.
Peter and Rong Huan were left alone in the corner, looking miserable and thinking about their mistakes.
Tony looked at the two of them with a headache.
"How come something bad happened on the first day?"
The simple Peter was still very excited.
"Mr. Stark, are you still able to come and see us when you are so busy?"
Rong Huan was speechless. The mask was opened and there was nothing inside.
"What? I'm not in New York. Jarvis is in control."
Spider-Man lowered his head and rubbed his hands with tears in his eyes.
After a stern lecture, the steel armor finally flew back to the building.
The Queens district was shrouded in darkness, and the lights on the tall buildings were on. It looked very beautiful from the highest point.
Spider-Man and Rong Huan sat on the eaves of a tall building, both holding a sandwich in their hands.
Ned was excitedly discussing today's battle results on the phone when a noisy sound came from the other end.
He lowered his voice.
"I won't say any more. My mother called me to eat. We'll continue tomorrow, brother!"
Then he hung up the phone.
Rong Huan was amused by Ned and laughed, but Peter was not in a good mood.
Rong Huan took a big bite of the bread in her hand and spoke incoherently.
"Peter, aren't you happy?"
Peter looked intently at the bright lights in the distance. He spoke uncertainly,
"I've been Spider-Man for a long time, but Mr. Stark doesn't seem to agree to let me join the Avengers, not even as a reserve."
Rong Huan stared at him in disbelief.
"Are you serious? I thought you knew."
The strands of hair on Peter's forehead were pushed down by the mask. He casually brushed them away with a puzzled expression.
Rong Huan pointed at the spider pattern on the chest of his uniform.
"Isn't that the Avengers logo in the center of the spider pattern on your uniform?"
Peter Parker was feeling sad because he was not recognized by Mr. Stark one second, and was stunned by the news the next.
He looked down and saw that there was an "A" in the middle of the spider logo, which he had never noticed before.
Peter stood up straight, and Curly shook with excitement.
"Oh my god, I really joined the Avengers?!"
The boy's cheeks turned slightly red with excitement, and he couldn't even speak clearly.
Rong Huan looked at him with amusement.
Suddenly the phone rang. Peter took it out and saw the name on it. His eyes softened.
"Uncle Ben, I'll be home soon."
Rong Huan turned her head curiously. Peter quickly finished his sandwich and put on his mask.
"Uncle Ben is urging us to go home."
Peter's house was not far from the building, so the two of them changed their uniforms in the alley as usual and walked home.
Uncle Ben had been waiting at home for a long time. Peter opened the door and saw Aunt May sitting on the sofa, suddenly stunned.
This afternoon when Aunt May went out, she had to go to a supermarket far away. Because it was shopping day, she asked Peter to pick her up when he returned.
But Spider-Man was busy catching thieves on the street and apparently forgot about it.
Peter moved his lips a few times, not knowing how to speak.
Ben Parker came over with a serious look on his face.
"Peter, you always come home late recently. Did you forget to pick up your Aunt May today?"
"She brought the things back from the supermarket by herself."
Peter wanted to apologize, but before he could open his mouth, Uncle Ben added,
"Your teacher has called me and she said your grades in the recent weekly tests have dropped significantly."
"Even sleeping in class, Peter, you shouldn't do irrelevant things."
Peter looked up and explained,
"I'm sorry, but I don't think that's irrelevant. It's something I enjoy."
Ben Parker's tone became more serious.
"But you're still a student! If you keep going like this, your grades will decline even more!"
High school students tend to be rebellious to some extent, and Peter also got angry.
"But there has to be sacrifice! And I've helped a lot of people, isn't that right?"
"You've even given up on what you're supposed to do. This isn't a sacrifice, this is not doing your job properly!"
Ben Parker, whose temper was in some ways similar to his nephew's, blurted out in a moment of burning anger.
Peter looked at Uncle Ben's disappointed look, put on his bag, opened the door and ran out.
Rong Huan acted as an invisible person nearby, so she couldn't speak into other people's family affairs.
I wanted to follow Peter back to the room, but he turned around and rushed out.
Rong Huan had no choice but to follow him out with a smile on her face.
"I'll go find him!"
After saying that, he hurried out, leaving Uncle Ben standing alone by the sofa.
It was completely dark outside, with only the street lights flashing a warm light.
Rong Huan walked across three streets before she saw Peter standing on the street.
She calmed her breath and walked over slowly.
"Brother, I can't find my home, can you help me?"
Peter was very upset, but he still turned around and was surprised to see the familiar little face.
"Xiao Rong, why are you here?"
Rong Huan smiled happily.
"I'm worried something might happen to you."
Peter's lips raised slightly, then quickly fell, and he stared at his own shadow in frustration.
"Am I really not doing my job properly?"
Rong Huan actually didn't think so. She considered and spoke.
"If ordinary people suddenly have superpowers, they may not do anything, but you can choose to help others. I think this point defeats 99% of people."
Peter Parker didn't understand how she could know so accurately, and sighed when he recalled Uncle Ben's look.
"Maybe I'm not cut out to be a superhero..."
Rong Huan's eyes widened. Her mission still depended on her brother. What would she do if he quit?
Rong Huan felt very upset and racked her brains to comfort him.
"No, Uncle Ben is doing this for your own good. It's true that your grades are declining, but the lives of superheroes and ordinary people must go on."
She patted Peter's shoulder solemnly.
"My dad has recognized you as a reserve member of the Avengers. Are you going to give up?"
I have to say that sometimes all you need to comfort a fan is to mention his idol.
Peter showed a determined expression and clenched his fists.
"Yes, I absolutely cannot let Mr. Stark down!"
Rong Huan, who had no idea what Tony expected from Spider-Man, nodded seriously.
Peter stood up suddenly.
"I'm going to go back and apologize to Uncle Ben and Aunt May!"
Rong Huan once again accomplished the task of providing psychological counseling to Chaoying and stood up happily.
The two walked back quickly, and when they got closer to the apartment, they found that the door was wide open and angry curses could be heard from inside from time to time.
Rong Huan and Peter looked at each other, felt something was wrong, and ran back quickly.
Uncle Ben protected his wife behind him and stared at the robber with a pistol.
"You can take all the money, just don't hurt us."
The robber wearing a black mask was an out-and-out desperado with several lives on his hands.
He put his jewelry and money into his pockets while aiming at the man.
Prepare to kill to silence someone.
