Chapter 25 Registration
Unlike Chicago and Cotton, the night sky here is bright and vast, dotted with stars.
Compared to the narrow and cramped high-rise buildings, the vast farms and wheat fields make people feel relaxed.
The next morning Clark came to pick up the children and they had to go to the town police station to register.
He opened the door and looked at the little girl sleeping on the bed. He couldn't help but pat her belly.
"Hey, time to get up, we have to go to the police station today."
Rong Huan sat up with the help of Clark's big hand. She was still sleepy, but when she heard the word "police station", her mind suddenly became clear.
She is an illegal resident, how can she register? !
Although Rong Huan tried her best to delay the trip, they still got on the car to the town after breakfast.
Rong Huan: ...It's over. There's no coming back today!
Rong Huan looked at the sign that was getting closer and closer, feeling nervous.
She had already anticipated the scene in which the police would handcuff her and lock her up behind iron bars.
She might have to perform a tearful scene!
Clark observed the little girl clasping her hands together and rubbed her head to ease her tension.
"Don't worry, we're just checking in. I promise we'll go home together."
Maybe Clark's words were too reliable, Rong Huan's nervousness dissipated a lot...that's strange.
She saw the sheriff, who was sitting there with an intimidating presence, trembling.
“Joseph, we want to register this child to see if her family is looking for her,” Martha said.
Joseph noticed the small figure behind Clark and gave him a friendly smile.
But this was even more terrifying in the little girl's eyes. She tried to shrink behind Clark's legs, fearing that Joseph would take her away.
Clark looked at the "confrontation" between the two and a smile appeared on his face.
He bent down and held the child in his arms, then walked to the registration computer and pointed out the basic information on the screen to her.
"Look, it's all basic information. Just register and we'll be home soon."
Rong Huan glanced at the form on the computer and heaved a sigh of relief when she found that there were indeed no questions related to the place of residence. She then obediently filled out the information.
After a whole morning of hard work, it was already 1pm when I came out of the police station.
It should have been the time of the day when the sun was at its strongest, but the sky turned gloomy and it felt like a storm was about to come.
Rong Huan looked at the increasingly gloomy sky and knew in her heart that the mission was about to begin.
Workers who don't know how to seize opportunities will never succeed. The social animals of the previous life and the villains of this life who know this well believe that this is simply the way of life.
Sure enough, when the car was halfway there, the sky suddenly roared, and in an instant there was lightning and thunder.
Looking out the window, I saw a curved line extending from the sky to the earth, and the surrounding grass and trees rose from the ground and swirled up into the sky.
Rong Huan had never seen such a sight before. She was so absorbed in watching it that Martha in the back seat covered her head and said to Jonathan,
"Jonathan, we have a tornado!"
Jonathan Kent remained calm and stepped on the accelerator.
In this situation, all we can do is get away from the tornado as quickly as possible and find a safe place to hide.
The car's motor roared, and it sped toward the farm like an arrow.
After driving for ten minutes, the car was getting closer and closer to the farm. I was just about to congratulate myself for escaping the disaster.
I noticed a furry head popping out from the bushes next to the car.
"It's Shelby, how come it's here!"
Rong Huan looked over there and saw a Border Collie jump out, barking and wagging its tail at the four people.
Jonathan immediately unbuckled his seat belt and got out of the car.
Clark reacted and tried to stop his father, but he reached out his hand but ended up grabbing air.
"No, Dad!"
Clark shouted as he watched Jonathan trudging forward to Shalby's side.
As soon as I hugged the dog, I saw a tornado sweeping in at a very fast speed.
Clark Kent opened the car door and was about to use his super powers to fly to rescue his adoptive father.
The moment he took the first step, he hesitated.
He recalled that when he was a child, he often hurt other children and even himself because he could not control his strength.
Although the little boy longed for friends, he was called a "monster".
Before Superman became a superhero, he was lonely, had no friends, and didn't know the meaning of his existence.
Jonathan knew that his son was not from Earth, but he was the child they loved deeply.
So in order to prevent Clark from being harmed by the rumors, he forbade his son to use any super powers.
Jonathan Kent is not good at talking about love. He is usually taciturn, but he cares about his children's health and happiness more than anyone else.
When he saw Clark's hesitant movement, he smiled with relief.
He stroked Shelby and gave it one final command - get back in the car.
Looking at Clark's handsome face, his eyes were filled with reluctance and attachment.
He never said that his son was his pride.
Jonathan raised his hand, smiled and signaled Clark not to come over, and raised his thumb with a slight tremor.
Well done my son, Daddy is proud of you!
Rong Huan became anxious when she saw Clark hesitating. If Jonathan was blown away by the tornado, would he still be able to survive?
She struggled to hold onto the seat and squeezed forward, shouting to Clark in the flying sand,
"Clark, don't leave any regrets for yourself!!"
This voice suddenly woke Clark up. The little girl was right.
If he just watched his father being swept away like this, he would regret it for the rest of his life!
At the critical moment, Superman flew towards his adoptive father at the fastest speed in his life and grabbed Jonathan's hand when he was swept away.
Martha watched her husband disappear in grief. She couldn't believe how she would live after Jonathan left.
Suddenly two figures appeared in the tornado, and Martha shouted excitedly,
"It's Jonathan and Clark!"
Clark Kent, holding his adoptive father, broke through the flying sand and rocks around him and landed smoothly next to the car.
He put Jonathan back in the driver's seat and drove straight toward the farm.
Rong Huan tried the "Superman" roller coaster for free.
It was quite new, but she was a little carsick. She looked back and saw that Martha's face was also blue.
When she got off the car, her legs went weak and she almost fell to the ground. It was so thrilling. The car flew straight into the clouds.
She had never parachuted to such a height in her previous life, and she was able to avoid vomiting entirely because of her self-control.
When Martha saw Jonathan standing on the ground, looking unreal, she was first frightened and then furious.
She slapped her husband on the back with all her might.
"Jonathan Kent, do you know how sad I was just now? You actually want to give up your chance to survive?!"
As Martha said this, her nose felt sore and tears started to fall. Jonathan ignored the burning sensation on his back and quickly tried to comfort his wife in a humble manner.
Rong Huan turned her head away, not looking at this extremely unfriendly scene for the singles.
She noticed Clark's smile, raised her eyebrows, and decided to strike while the iron was hot to emphasize her important role.
She immediately walked towards Clark on her short legs, and as soon as she opened her mouth and hadn't said a word, she was held in the man's arms.
She was a little confused, and heard Clark gratefully speaking,
"Thank you, Xiaorong. If you hadn't reminded me, I wouldn't know how to deal with all this. You are really my Angel!"
Rong Huan prides herself on being thick-skinned, but she feels embarrassed when she meets someone like Clark who plays it straight.
She touched her face, scratched her head, and remained silent, squirming like a monkey.
Clark saw the child's face was steaming, and he carried her into the house with amusement.
