Chapter 5 Burger

Chapter 5 Burger

By the time Jason finished explaining the deeds of Batman to Rong Huan, she had already turned pale.

He originally wanted to steal tires to fill his stomach, but he ended up stealing them from Chaoying. Could anything be more dramatic than this?

Later, it was proved that Rong Huan was really a talented person, and everything she did was not done according to the routine.

Until later she still didn't understand why one wrong step could lead to the situation going in the opposite direction.

When she saw Batman walking across the street, Rong Huan immediately hid behind Jason.

Trying to use his thin body to block himself. Batman saw that the two children were still standing there, so he handed the paper bag in his hand to them.

No one answered the phone, and Rong Huan thought Batman was going to take her to the police station.

I closed my eyes and waited for a long time, but no one moved. Instead, I smelled the aroma of food.

After a whole night of trouble, my stomach couldn't bear the weight anymore and kept protesting.

She saw the paper bag in Batman's hand and couldn't help but take it, and found that there was a burger inside.

The burger shops in Gotham are open 24 hours a day, and the freshly made burgers are still steaming hot.

The combination of meat pie and vegetable bread brought tears to Rong Huan's eyes and she wanted to eat the paper as well.

Jason was also wolfing down his food beside them, and the two children finally had their fill at three in the morning.

Batman watched from the side until they finished eating before speaking quietly.

"You're from Crime Alley."

This was a declarative sentence. Jason nodded silently, and then Batman asked again,

"So do you think what Batman did was right?"

Rong Huan looked up. Batman was really tall, so tall that Rong Huan needed to tilt her head high to see his face clearly.

The man stood by the street, half of his face submerged in darkness, the other half illuminated by the moonlight so that his eyes could be seen clearly.

Batman lowered his eyes, his eyelashes covering them. Rong Huan didn't understand how a person's eyes could hide so much love.

It was a long time later that she realized it was because of responsibility.

There is too much on my shoulders, so every step must be considered.

Not for yourself, but for the public.

They always say that the overall situation should be the most important, but when it comes to making a decision, every thing you give up is heartbreaking.

Rong Huan stared at Batman in a daze. She couldn't answer this question.

She didn't know Batman, and she hadn't experienced life in Crime Alley.

It's only been a short day since I came here, but everything I've seen and done was something I've never dared to think of or try before.

This is different from riding a roller coaster in an amusement park. It does not require complicated thinking and can often be enjoyed with just a casual decision.

But in Crime Alley, every kid is trying hard to survive, and survival is already difficult for them.

Thrills and excitement may be accompanied by life-threatening situations and separation from loved ones.

Just as the air was silent again, Jason said in a suppressed voice,

"I don't know, I don't know if you're doing the right thing.

But I know that your presence can make the children in Crime Alley less miserable and give them hope to survive.

I will neither blame nor praise, because life is difficult for me too.

But if there is someone who can protect me and be the support for me to continue to survive, I think I will become the same as you."

Rong Huan looked at Jason's tightly clenched fists, and she suddenly realized that this world was completely different from the original one she was used to.

Or maybe she didn't know about this kind of darkness. Jason was an exception, because she knew he would become a superhero, but he was also many people.

Batman was obviously surprised by Jason's words, and he looked at the little boy.

He was very thin due to malnutrition, but his eyes were firm.

He looked at Rong Huan next to him. The little girl was even thinner, and just standing there made people worry that she would be blown away by the wind.
