Chapter 77 No Escape
Tony's eyes were full of smiles. He didn't notice Rong Huan's panicking left foot stepping on her right foot, and reached out his hands to hug his daughter.
Rong Huan glanced at the avengers behind him, and when he saw no dark traces, he felt relieved.
He ran to Tony and asked with his head raised,
"Papa, are there any guests in the building today?"
Tony carried the little girl to the sofa, reached out to feel the temperature of her forehead, and found that she still had a low fever. He frowned slightly and asked Jarvis to scan her, then nodded and said,
"There will be uncles and aunts coming today. They are also great heroes, doing the same thing as Papa."
Rong Huan nodded stiffly, and she seemed to hear the crackling sound of her neck bones turning.
She wasn't sure whether it was amazing or not, she just knew that if she didn't run fast she would be exposed.
She shuddered at the thought of Batman looking at her with disapproval, and immediately slid off the sofa and walked quickly towards the room.
Just as I grasped the door handle, Jarvis' voice rang out.
"Sir, the Justice League is here."
The next second the elevator door opened again, Batman came out in the lead, followed by Superman and Wonder Woman, and the Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman followed at the end.
The whole scene was exactly the same as when the Avenger walked out a few minutes ago.
Rong Huan: .....It’s over, I’m sweating too early.
Iron Man and Captain America stood up. The Avengers and the Justice League met for the first time. From the number of people on both sides, it can be seen that they attach great importance to the event.
The superheroes all know each other, and Rong Huan is the only "new" face in the building.
Tony looked at the little girl proudly and introduced her.
"This is my daughter, Rong Huan."
Batman paused visibly when he heard the word "Rong Huan". He stared at the familiar figure in the corridor and spoke in a hoarse voice,
"...your daughter?"
Superman was incredible, his super vision instantly locked onto the girl not far away, and the Justice League partners behind him all had their eyes widened.
Steve felt that the atmosphere was a bit strange, as if the superheroes from the Justice League had seen someone familiar.
Tony next to him didn't realize this at all and continued to show off his daughter.
"Of course, the little princess of the Avengers, the daughter of Iron Man!"
When Rong Huan heard what Tony said, her legs almost gave out and she almost fell to her knees. She prayed in her heart that her father would not say anything more, because if he said anything more, she would not be able to get back on her feet.
Superman's excellent memory would never make a mistake, and he blurted out,
"Xiao Rong?!"
Now the carefree Iron Man also reacted. He noticed Superman's shocked expression and knew something was wrong.
Natasha stepped forward with a proper smile on her face.
"Excuse me, Mr. Superman, do you know my child?"
Listen, what Black Widow said is very sophisticated. It not only hits the point accurately but also expresses that they are Avengers.
Batman heard the hidden meaning in the words, took a step forward and spoke without losing momentum.
"She is my daughter."
Iron Man: ???
It was the Avengers' turn to show shocked expressions.
Tony's words were not thought through.
"Are you here to snatch my daughter away from me?"
Batman didn't answer, his eyes fell on Rong Huan without moving. Rong Huan was sweating again, and screamed at the system.
"Can you teleport me away right now? Anywhere, just away from here."
The system assistant refused righteously.
"Host, you have to save my energy, otherwise you will have to go on the next mission by yourself."
Rong Huan felt like crying but had no tears. She wished she could escape underground and didn't care about the mission that couldn't be accomplished.
She knew she couldn't escape this time, so she could only turn around slowly and greet Bruce whom she hadn't seen for a long time.
"Hello, long time no see, Daddy."
Tony Stark felt like he was hallucinating. Why would his little girl call Batman "Daddy"?
The adults present were full of questions and all looked at Rong Huan, wanting to get clarification.
........
The meeting between the Justice League and the Avengers is very meaningful. It is meaningful when both sides find out that their child has become the daughter of Iron Man/Batman?!
Rong Huan sat in the middle of the sofa, with the Justice League on her left and the Avengers on her right. She seemed to be walking on a single-plank bridge.
There is a "wolf" in front and a "tiger" behind, you can neither advance nor retreat.
The living room suddenly fell silent. Tony Stark, who had been confronting Batman for a while, asked first,
"I brought Xiaorong back from the Hydra base. I have the adoption certificate."
Batman never backs down.
"She is my daughter, but she went missing and I have been looking for her. I also have proof of adoption."
........
Silence is Cambridge tonight.
Rong Huan's head almost sunk under the tea table, and her brain was racing frantically thinking about how to resolve this embarrassing situation.
Iron Man tapped his fingers twice and finally spoke.
"Xiao Rong, what's going on?"
Rong Huan looked at Batman and then at Iron Man, and called out quietly,
"Papa, I'm sorry I lied to you."
"Daddy is telling the truth. I was captured from Gotan and brought to the base, then rescued."
After saying this, Rong Huan turned around and explained to her Daddy,
"Daddy, I didn't mean to disappear, I just..."
Rong Huan couldn't go on. If she continued to explain, she would have to reveal the system.
She bit her fingers nervously, and her nails turned white from the pressure.
Suddenly she realized that even if the system assistant didn't ask her to do any tasks, she didn't think of contacting Bruce to report her safety.
Rong Huan glanced at Clark's worried expression and felt even sadder. She was not a competent person and it would be difficult for anyone to remain calm when faced with such a situation as a family member going missing.
What's more, she hadn't heard from anyone for such a long time, and she thought of Ah Fu and Jason who loved her in the manor.
The last time she disappeared, Jason wanted to follow her closely, and now she disappeared again, they must be very anxious.
Rong Huan was overwhelmed with guilt and self-blame. She lowered her head with tears welling up in her eyes.
Bruce noticed that the child's finger was about to be broken, which was her habit when she was nervous and helpless, but he didn't bear to continue asking.
He reached out and separated her hands to prevent her from hurting herself, and changed the subject,
"Why didn't you contact me? Everyone is worried about you."
The little girl shuddered, and could no longer hold back her tears, which dripped onto her clothes.
"I'm sorry...I'm a bad person..."
Rong Huan kept thinking of Ah Fu's smile, Jason's awkward concern, and every detail of Wayne Manor.
My whole heart felt like someone was grabbing it, it felt sour and bitter, and tears flowed out uncontrollably.
Chaoying, who originally wanted to get to the bottom of the whole thing, was stunned and began to coax the child in a panic.
Steve was close, taking advantage of the situation first, and gently wiped away his hot tears with his fingers.
"We are just too worried about you. Just talk it out. You are not a bad kid."
The little girl's eyes were blurred with tears. Several blurry figures approached her. Clark also touched her head and comforted her.
"As long as you're okay."
Batman is not good at expressing his emotions in front of outsiders, and just nods silently in agreement with Superman's words.
