Chapter 103 Gu Linchao's temple vein throbbed.

Gu Linchao was going to the military camp. As he was leaving, he passed by the garden and heard a woman's clear and pleasant voice coming from the rockery.

"Lvqiao, give me another steamed bun. The fish over there haven't been fed yet..."

"Yes, miss."

A faint smile flickered in Gu Linchao's eyes. He took a step to leave when he suddenly heard the girl sigh, "It's a pity these fish are only for viewing, not for eating. They've just wasted their fat..."

Wang Houde, who was following behind him, burst out laughing.

The princess is quite amusing; looking at the pond full of fish, she actually thought of eating them.

The fish in that pond are rare koi, much more precious than the edible fish outside.

Gu Linchao glanced at him and was about to leave when Wen Nongnong heard the noise and ran over from behind the artificial hill.

Upon seeing that it was Gu Linchao, she blinked and quickly hid the things in her hands behind her back.

Unfortunately, Gu Linchao had already seen it.

He stared in surprise at the fishing rod hidden behind her back and said incredulously, "You're fishing in the pond?"

Wang Houde and Si Yi also stared at her in astonishment.

The Empress was actually fishing for koi in the pond?

Gu Linchao felt a vein throb on his forehead. He suddenly wondered if it was a mistake to lift the restrictions on her ahead of schedule.

Did she even know how rare the fish in that pond were?

This girl is a real handful.

Seeing the man's somewhat ashen face, Wen Nongnong swallowed hard, took out her fishing rod, and said, "Don't get so excited. Look, there's no hook."

Gu Linchao looked over and realized that there was indeed no hook or bait on the fishing line.

He had misunderstood her.

He paused, then softened his voice, "So what are you doing?"

"I'm just playing around." Wen Nongnong pouted, her slender fingers holding the fishing rod, moving it up and down. Seeing that he was about to go out, she blinked and couldn't help but ask, "Where is Your Highness going?"

Gu Linchao subconsciously replied, "Military camp."

Upon hearing this, Wen Nongnong asked with some longing, "Your Highness, could you take me on a tour?"

"No." Gu Linchao refused without thinking. Looking at the girl's drooping face, he paused and couldn't help but explain, "Women are not allowed to enter or leave the military camp."

"Oh." Wen Nongnong shrugged. "Then Your Highness, go ahead and get busy. I'm going back to my courtyard." With that, she turned and left.

Gu Linchao watched as she hoisted the fishing rod onto her shoulder and quickly disappeared among the flowering trees. He paused for a moment before turning his gaze away and walking outside.

"Where can we go fishing at this time of year?" he suddenly asked after walking a few steps.

Si Yi, who was following behind him, was taken aback by his sudden question before replying, "In the suburbs. I once passed through a bamboo forest where there is a river with many wild fish."

"Okay." Gu Linchao nodded and instructed, "Go and prepare for fishing tomorrow."

Si Yi was taken aback, and exchanged a glance with Wang Houde. Both of them were quite surprised.

Why did Your Highness suddenly become interested in fishing?

They suddenly remembered that the princess had been fishing in the pond earlier, and then they understood.

It seems the prince wants to take the princess fishing.

The next day, Dingguo Gongfu.

After seeing off the eunuch who delivered the imperial decree, Wen Tingyun held the decree, lost in thought.

Seeing this, Wen Tingyun asked, "Brother, you've been promoted, why do you not seem very happy?"

"Yes, what happened?" Madam Xu asked as well.

Wen Shiqing sat there without saying a word, but he was also somewhat puzzled.
