Upon arriving at the Regent's Palace, Wen Nongnong remembered something and turned to ask Lü Qiao, "How is Madam Chen?"
Lü Qiao then told her about how Madam Chen had almost wet herself in fright.
Upon hearing this, Wen Nongnong laughed so hard she could barely stand up straight. "Haha, you're so naughty! But I like it, haha... uh!"
She was laughing as she walked backwards, not noticing that there was a threshold behind her. Her heel accidentally hit the threshold, and she almost fell backwards.
"Watch out!" The man's low, cold voice suddenly reached her ears. Before she could react, a large hand had firmly gripped her waist, supporting her and preventing her from falling backward.
Wen Nongnong was stunned for a moment. The cold and elegant scent, like ice and snow, entered her nose. She came back to her senses, turned her head and looked. When she saw that the person supporting her was Gu Linchao, she blinked and was a little surprised.
The soft touch of his palm made Gu Linchao momentarily dazed.
His mind inappropriately began to measure the girl's waist.
So thin and soft, he could hold it in one hand...
"Thank you, Your Highness," Wen Nongnong said gratefully, realizing what had happened.
The girl's melodious voice reached his ears, and Gu Linchao finally came to his senses and withdrew his hand.
The hand that had touched Wen Nong Nong's waist was quietly hidden behind her back, and she took two steps back.
His dark eyes narrowed slightly, his handsome face flushed, and his thick, long eyelashes trembled slightly before he said calmly, "Be careful where you step."
Wen Nongnong always felt that he was acting strangely, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Unable to figure it out, she stopped thinking about it and shrugged, saying, "I understand." After a pause, seeing his posture as he was about to leave, she couldn't help but ask, "Is Your Highness going out?"
"Hmm." Gu Linchao responded in a cold voice, then added after a moment's thought, "I'm going to the military camp, I'll be back soon."
"Oh." Wen Nongnong was taken aback, wondering why he would explain his itinerary to her today, and so clearly at that. "Your Highness, please take care."
Gu Linchao glanced at her before stepping out the door.
After watching him ride away into the distance, Wen Nongnong entered the mansion gate.
Thinking of something, Wen Nongnong asked Lü Qiao, "Didn't the Empress Dowager send me a lot of Ganoderma lucidum and ginseng last time? During the days I was unconscious, did you take the ginseng to make soup for the Prince?"
Green Fairy shook her head, somewhat ashamed, "This servant forgot..."
"It's alright, go and get it for me now, I'll personally stew a bowl of ginseng soup for our Prince," Wen Nongnong said resolutely. She had promised to curry favor with him, and she couldn't be half-hearted. Thinking about it, she realized she was being quite incompetent in her attempts to curry favor, and she needed to correct that quickly.
Upon hearing this, Lü Qiao smiled and said, "Miss treats the Prince so well."
Wen Nongnong said seriously, "His Highness is busy with state affairs all day long and is almost as thin as a bamboo pole. As his wife, I naturally have to help him to nourish his body." After saying that, she felt more and more that she might have the potential to be a virtuous wife. Look, such virtuous words actually came from her mouth. She herself was a little unbelievable.
“Miss is absolutely right. I’ll go get you some ginseng right away,” Green Fairy quickly agreed.
"Okay, you go ahead, I'll wait for you in the kitchen."
Upon entering the Agarwood Courtyard, Wen Nongnong headed towards the small kitchen.
...
That evening, Gu Linchao returned from the military camp and had just stepped into his study when Wen Nongnong arrived.
