Chapter 182 The Prince Must Be Tired of Me

Butler Chen was moved by these words.

I never expected the princess to care so much about the prince.

"Then this old servant will give the order immediately," Steward Chen said, slightly excited. Seeing that the prince was being cared for, he was overjoyed and found Wen Nongnong even more pleasing to the eye.

Wen Nongnong nodded, "Thank you for your trouble, Uncle Chen."

Uncle Chen happily went to the kitchen to give the instructions himself.

Watching him walk away, Wen Nongnong was somewhat impressed with her own acting skills.

She was actually hungry, but since she had already said it, she decided to endure it.

However, Wen Nongnong waited until 9 AM, but Gu Linchao still hadn't returned, and even Wang Houde and Si Yi were nowhere to be seen.

"Why hasn't the Prince returned to the manor yet?" Wen Nong Nong was so hungry she was about to jump up and down, but she could only endure it because she had made a boast earlier.

"Your Highness, the Prince may not be returning to the residence for a while. Why don't you have your meal first?" Butler Chen advised, seeing that she had been waiting for so long and it was almost noon. He knew that if she waited any longer, the Prince might not return.

"Alright." Wen Nongnong nodded in agreement, but inwardly cursed Gu Linchao.

...

For two consecutive days, Gu Linchao was not in the manor. Wen Nongnong even began to suspect that Gu Linchao was deliberately avoiding her in order not to see her.

She stood with her hands on her hips by the lotus pond, looking at her reflection in the water.

She's so beautiful and virtuous; it would be hard to find another girl as beautiful and kind as her. What reason would Gu Linchao have not to like her? What could he possibly be dissatisfied with? He avoids her like the plague; he truly has no taste.

However, his absence is convenient, as it makes it easier for her to go to Tunzhou.

Thinking it over, she immediately sent Lü Qiao to inform Wen Tingyun to wait for her outside the city gate the next morning.

The next morning, Wen Nongnong changed into men's clothing, packed a simple bundle, and went out.

Seeing her attire and the fact that she seemed to be going on a long trip, Butler Chen hurriedly asked with concern, "Is Your Highness going on a long trip?"

Wen Nong Nong's face showed a sad and upset expression. "The prince has not returned to the manor for several days, and he has not even left me a single word. I guess he is tired of me, so I will not be in the manor and get in his way. If I am not here, he may come back."

Upon hearing this, Butler Chen's expression changed, and he hurriedly defended Gu Linchao, "Your Highness has misunderstood the Prince. The Prince has not returned to the manor because he must be tied up with important matters and cannot get away. Your Highness, please do not overthink it..."

Wen Nongnong shook her head, interrupting him, "Uncle Chen, there's no need to explain for the Prince. I can sense it. The Prince never liked me, and now that he's avoiding me and neglecting me, I don't blame him. Uncle Chen, take care of yourself. I'm going to the estate to clear my head and will be back in a few days." After saying that, she didn't give Uncle Chen a chance to speak again and quickly left the mansion.

"Your Highness..." Butler Chen was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, pacing around in circles, but Wen Nongnong walked away without looking back.

He had been watching the Princess's transformation closely lately. She was now incredibly attentive to him, and he really shouldn't have been so cold towards her.

Now, because the prince hasn't returned to the manor for several days, the princess is overthinking things and has even left the manor to go to the estate to clear her mind. It seems that she has been deeply hurt by the prince's actions. He feels that this matter is quite serious and he must find a way to inform the prince so that he can coax the princess back.

While Steward Chen was thinking about informing Gu Linchao, Wen Nongnong had already boarded a carriage and left the capital with Wen Tingyun, heading towards Tunzhou.
