Chapter 198 The Prince Opens His Mouth

"Actually..." She turned around, sobbing, "It's like this, my second brother and I came to Tunzhou to relax, but who knew that as soon as we arrived in Tunzhou city, someone stole our purses, leaving us penniless. We had no choice but to go to the Hundred Flowers Pavilion to perform... Actually, actually, we haven't eaten yet, and we're so hungry..."

After saying that, she put her hand on her stomach, lowered her head, and pouted, looking quite pitiful.

Seeing her like this, Gu Linchao's heart softened a bit.

He pursed his lips and pondered for a while, but in the end, he didn't say anything harsh to her. He simply said gently, "Sit down for a while."

"Huh?" Wen Nongnong looked up in confusion, only to see that he had already gotten up, gotten off the carriage, and left.

A short while later, Wang Houde returned a bulging money bag to her.

"Thank you, Eunuch Wang." Wen Nongnong took the money bag with a beaming smile, then opened it and took out a small piece of gold, handing it to him. "Eunuch Wang, you've all worked hard today. Please take this and treat everyone to something to eat."

Wang Houde quickly declined, saying, "Your Majesty is too kind, but we servants did nothing wrong. Please take the gold back, Your Majesty."

Wen Nongnong deliberately put on a stern face and said, "Does Eunuch Wang look down on me?"

Wang Houde was startled and hurriedly waved his hand, "How dare this servant..."

"Then, Eunuch Wang, be more generous and accept the gold. Take them out for a late-night snack. It's getting late, and everyone's hungry after all this commotion." Wen Nongnong took the opportunity to stuff the gold into his hand.

Wang Houde had no choice but to accept the gold and use it to buy food for the guards.

When Gu Linchao returned, he saw Wen Nongnong leaning against the car window, her red lips moving slightly, and her beautiful singing voice slowly rising in the night.

He paused slightly.

"...holding an umbrella to catch falling petals, watching the west wind ride a lean horse."

Who can see through the rosy clouds for me in a single glance?

Is that you, young master...?

Wen Nongnong suddenly looked up and immediately saw Gu Linchao standing not far away.

Today he was wearing a dark green robe, and his jet-black hair was draped over his shoulders. He looked less serious and more handsome and refined. People who didn't know his identity would think he was a scholar from somewhere.

The two looked at each other and were both stunned for a moment.

Gu Linchao lowered his eyes slightly, but the line she had just sung echoed in his mind: Who can see through the rosy clouds for me? Is it you, young master?

"Your Highness?"

A girl's questioning voice suddenly came from behind.

He snapped out of his daze, walked over, took a bowl of wontons from the food box, and handed it in through the window, saying, "Make do with this for now."

Looking at the steaming wontons in front of her, Wen Nongnong paused, then looked at him in surprise, "Your Highness just went to buy me wontons?"

"Mm." Gu Linchao responded softly, urging, "Aren't you hungry? Hurry up and eat."

Wen Nongnong quickly reached out and took it.

Gu Linchao then handed her a clean pair of chopsticks.

Looking at the man outside the carriage, Wen Nongnong suddenly said, "Your Highness, you are so kind."

Looking into her burning eyes, Gu Linchao turned his face away uncomfortably. "Eat quickly, or it will get cold."

“Your Highness probably hasn’t eaten yet either, let’s eat together.” Wen Nong Nong picked up a wonton, blew on it, and then scooped it out the window to feed him. “Your Highness, open your mouth.”

Gu Linchao stared at her in astonishment.

Wen Nong Nong blinked. "Your Highness, please eat quickly."
