Gu Linchao didn't come over for a long time, but he turned off the lights.
The room suddenly darkened, and Wen Nongnong called out, "Your Highness?"
"Hmm?" Gu Linchao's deep voice sounded from the couch by the window.
Once Wen Nong Nong's eyes adjusted to the darkness, she saw that he was lying down on the soft couch.
She was stunned. Had she misunderstood? Did he not intend to consummate their marriage?
Her face suddenly felt hot, and she was very embarrassed.
Fortunately, she didn't say anything embarrassing.
She blinked and lay down on her side facing outwards.
Seeing him lying on the soft couch with his long legs slightly curled up, he was clearly not sleeping comfortably.
He's so tall, and the couch is so short; it must be really uncomfortable for him to sleep like that for one night.
She hesitated for a moment, then sat up and said softly, "Your Highness, please sleep in this bed. I am rather petite, and a soft couch would be more suitable for me."
Gu Linchao rested one hand behind his head. Hearing her voice, he turned his head to look at her. "No need, just lower your eyes."
"But……"
"Listen to me, lower your eyes now." Gu Linchao's tone became more forceful, leaving no room for argument.
Seeing his reaction, Wen Nongnong had no choice but to give up trying to persuade him.
Her gaze fell on the blanket, and she quickly jumped out of bed, grabbed a blanket, and prepared to take it to him.
But the room was dark, and she didn't notice for a moment, so she tripped and fell to the ground with a "thud".
Fortunately, she was holding a blanket, so even if she fell to the ground, it didn't hurt.
She was about to get up when, in the next moment, the man picked her up, blanket and all.
"Did you hurt yourself in the fall?"
Perhaps because of the darkness of night, the man's voice seemed to carry an unusual gentleness.
Wen Nongnong paused for a moment, then shook her head. "No."
Gu Linchao carried her back to bed and gently instructed, "It's late, don't toss and turn, go to bed early." After saying that, he was about to leave.
Wen Nong Nong quickly grabbed his sleeve, "Wait a minute."
Gu Linchao stopped and turned to look at her. "Is there anything else?"
Wen Nongnong handed him the blanket she was holding, saying, "It's still quite cold at night, don't catch a cold."
"And what about you?" Gu Linchao hesitated for a moment.
“There’s another one here. They prepared two blankets for us, probably because they were worried it would be too cold at night and we wouldn’t have enough.” Wen Nongnong quickly pulled over the other blanket to show him.
Gu Linchao then took the blanket. "Okay."
Wen Nongnong watched him walk back, and suddenly noticed the white socks on his feet. He wasn't even wearing shoes...
She paused, as if struck by a thought.
So just now, when he saw her fall, he rushed over to pick her up without even putting on his shoes?
She lay down, wrapped in the blanket, a complex feeling rising in her heart.
At this moment, Gu Linchao's emotions were also somewhat agitated.
He rested one hand behind his head, his gaze fixed on the window.
The pale moonlight fell on the window, casting a soft halo around it.
I could almost hear a girl's soft singing voice.
With my eyes closed, the image of the girl tightly embracing me in the dark alley came to mind...
His heart was in turmoil once again.
The room was quiet, and the girl's soft breathing reached his ears clearly.
He clenched his fingers, but finally couldn't resist turning his head to look towards the bed.
Unsurprisingly, the girl, with her eyes downcast and a carefree air, grabbed the blanket, and one of her slender arms slipped out of the sleeve and draped over the edge of the bed.
He paused, then got up and went over to cover her with the blanket again.
While sleeping, Wen Nongnong felt as if someone was taking the blanket from her. She opened her eyes alertly and was stunned when she saw that it was Gu Linchao. The next moment, she suddenly grabbed his collar and pulled him onto the bed.
