Chapter 249 Gu Linchao rubbed her head

The gatekeeper's expression changed drastically, and he rushed inside to report the incident.

At this moment, the King Jue was still in his beloved concubine's room, enjoying the service of the beauty.

Upon receiving the news, he was taken aback and pushed the beauty away with his palm.

Immediately, a smile appeared on his lips, "It seems he really treats that little girl quite differently!"

He got up, washed up, dressed, and went out.

Upon arriving at the front hall, they found Gu Linchao already seated.

Just like years ago, this young man remained unchanged in his demeanor, his every move exuding composure and ease.

He paused, thinking to himself, "My dead brother has indeed raised a fine son."

He stepped inside, a half-smile on his face, "My dear nephew, you've arrived earlier than I expected."

Gu Linchao glanced at him, and out of courtesy, he stood up and nodded slightly, "Uncle Jue Wang." This was his way of greeting him.

"Lin Chao, it's been many years, and you haven't changed a bit." The Jue King sat down in the main seat, glanced at him, and spoke with a veiled sarcasm.

"The same goes for Uncle Jue Wang." Gu Linchao's voice was cold, then he changed the subject and asked bluntly, "Uncle Jue Wang took my wife away. Where is she now?"

"Why are you so nervous, my dear nephew? I see that your wife really likes Juezhou. Why don't you two stay here for a few more days?" King Jue said, seemingly politely.

Gu Linchao said calmly, "I appreciate your kindness, Uncle Jue, but there are many matters to attend to in the court, and I am truly unable to leave. I would be so kind as to ask Uncle Jue to invite my wife out."

King Jue sighed regretfully, “It’s rare for you to come here, and I originally wanted to do my best to be a good host, but since you’re in a hurry to go back, I won’t force you.” After a pause, he continued, “It’s still early, and my niece-in-law probably hasn’t gotten up yet. She’s staying in the guest room, and I’ll have someone take you there to find her.”

After saying this, he turned to a servant and said, "Take the Regent to find the Regent's wife."

"Yes," the servant replied respectfully.

Gu Linchao glanced at the Jue Wang, stood up, and followed the servants out.

Upon arriving at the guest room, he immediately saw Wen Nong Nong lying motionless on the bed, with two maids feeding her.

Hearing footsteps, the people inside all looked over.

The two maids were taken aback, but Wen Nongnong was so moved that she almost shed tears, but unfortunately her pressure points had not been released and she could not speak.

Gu Linchao's heart tightened, and he quickly walked a few steps to the bedside and helped her sit up.

"How are you?" he asked gently.

Wen Nong Nong stared at him longingly, but didn't say a word.

He was taken aback, then realized that she had been silenced by acupressure.

He frowned and raised his hand to release her pressure points.

As soon as Wen Nongnong was free, she excitedly tugged at his sleeve, "You actually came!"

Because she hadn't spoken for a long time, her voice was a little hoarse, but Gu Linchao could still hear the joy in it.

He had originally intended to scold her, but seeing her like this, he swallowed back the words of reprimand.

He smiled slightly, reached out and ruffled her hair, and couldn't help but ask, "What were you planning to do if I hadn't come?"

Wen Nongnong glanced at his expression and whispered, "On one hand, I want you to come, but on the other hand, I don't really want you to come..."

"Why?" Gu Linchao was taken aback.

Wen Nongnong glanced at the maids in the room, then suddenly leaned over and whispered in his ear, "Because I feel that Prince Jue is not a good person. He deliberately brought me to Juezhou, probably to harm you. So, on the one hand, I don't want you to take risks for me."
