The carriage quickly started moving and left the town.
Wen Nong Nong sat next to Gu Lin Chao, looking at the scenery along the way while eating peaches.
The old lady was right; the peaches were not only juicy but also very sweet.
Wen Nongnong finished one, and then ate another.
But she didn't forget to feed Gu Linchao.
After finishing another peach, she picked out a large, juicy one and held it up to Gu Linchao's mouth, saying, "This peach is so sweet, Your Highness, please have some too."
Gu Linchao's handsome face flushed, and he turned his head away. "I won't eat it. You can eat it yourself."
“I’ve already eaten two.” Wen Nongnong held up two fingers and brought the peach closer to his mouth. “Your Highness, please eat.”
Gu Linchao pursed his lips. "I won't eat."
Wen Nong Nong pouted, "Your Highness, are you really not going to eat any? These peaches are so delicious. If you don't eat them, I'm afraid I won't be able to resist eating more."
Gu Linchao said gently, "Since you like to eat, then eat more."
Wen Nongnong pinched the fat on her stomach. "But I'm already stuffed." She sighed. "I finally lost some weight yesterday, but it looks like I've gained it all back today."
Gu Linchao's lips twitched suspiciously; this girl was exaggerating.
He glanced at her helplessly. "Don't overthink it. You're not fat at all. It would be good if you gained a little weight."
Wen Nong Nong frowned. "So, Your Highness prefers women who are a bit plump?"
Gu Linchao paused for a moment. When did he say that?
"That's not true."
"So Your Highness prefers someone thinner, doesn't he?" Wen Nongnong asked immediately.
Gu Linchao: "..."
He realized that no matter how he answered, it seemed inappropriate, so he simply pursed his lips and stopped talking.
Gu Linchao was adept at handling situations both in the imperial court and on the battlefield, but he lacked experience in dealing with women, especially Wen Nongnong.
Because this girl's questions were always endless, and she could always come up with strange questions that caught him off guard and left him speechless.
Fortunately, Wen Nongnong didn't necessarily need to get an answer from him. Since he didn't answer, she didn't ask again.
She lowered her head, took a bite of the peach, and ate it with a smacking sound.
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, she exaggeratedly exclaimed while eating, "The peaches are so delicious!" Then, she made another series of smacking sounds.
Gu Linchao: "..."
Normally, Gu Linchao would definitely scold her, but now, he didn't even have the thought of scolding her.
The carriage traveled for a while longer when the sound of rapid hoofbeats approached.
When Wen Nong Nong looked over, a group of people had already arrived in front of her.
Before she could figure out what was going on, Gu Linchao stopped the carriage.
"Master." The young man in black at the front quickly dismounted and knelt on one knee in front of the carriage. "I am late and have troubled you, Master."
"We've troubled you, Master," the other black-clad guards said loudly, kneeling down on one knee as well.
"Huh, Si Yi?" Wen Nongnong finally recognized the young man in the lead.
Si glanced at her but didn't say anything.
"Get up, all of you," Gu Linchao said coldly.
Si Yi and the others stood up as instructed.
"How did you find us?" Wen Nongnong asked them curiously.
Si Yi ignored her and looked at Gu Linchao, reporting, "When I arrived at Juezhou City, Master had already left. We then searched along the way, but because it rained yesterday, the traces were washed away, and it took us some effort to find this place."
