Chapter 359 Taking a New Lady into the Mansion

Upon hearing the words "ginseng tea," Gu Linchao snapped out of his reverie, a vein throbbing on his forehead. Just as he was about to say something, Wen Nongnong immediately added, "Your Highness, rest assured, I used fewer ginseng slices this time, so the flavor is very mild."

Gu Linchao paused, meeting her eager gaze. He swallowed back his words of refusal, picked up his cup, took a sip, and then calmly put it down, asking instead, "Is there something you want to tell me?"

“Hmm.” Wen Nongnong nodded. “I just want to ask Your Highness to help investigate who the man was in the Yanliu House last night.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Linchao rubbed his fingers against the cup, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Alright, I'll have someone investigate."

Wen Nongnong felt relieved. "Oh, right, and about what happened last night, don't tell anyone, especially not the Emperor."

Gu Linchao frowned, "But no matter what, Atuo Jianghua has betrayed the Emperor and should no longer remain in the palace."

Wen Nong Nong wanted A Tuo Jiang Hua to take the opportunity to leave the palace. If she was willing, given her status as a princess of Xinjiang, Gu Heng shouldn't make things difficult for her. But that girl was stubborn.

Thinking of this, she said with a strange expression, "Actually, nothing happened last night, and Jiang Hua is still innocent."

Gu Linchao was not surprised. He had already understood what Xiao Yan had said in the palace.

Wen Nongnong glanced at him and said, "Why do I feel that Your Highness is not surprised at all? It's as if you already knew about it."

"You're overthinking it," Gu Linchao said calmly, quickly changing the subject for fear that she would bring it up again. "Nongnong, go back first. I still have official business to attend to."

Wen Nongnong pouted, but didn't stay to bother him.

"Alright then, remember to drink the ginseng tea."

"Okay." He gave her a gentle look.

Wen Nongnong then left the study.

Gu Linchao breathed a sigh of relief as soon as she left.

He didn't want to lie to Nong Nong, but this matter was of great importance. A Tuo Jiang Hua was now a Noble Consort, and Xiao Yan was still the Emperor's elder. The relationship was too complicated, and if it were to spread, it would not benefit anyone.

As soon as Wen Nongnong returned to Chenxiang Courtyard, Atuo Jianghua begged her to teach her to dance.

"You taught me some things yesterday, and I want to practice some more. Can you accompany me?"

Despite what happened at Yanxu Tower yesterday, she still decided to study dance diligently and use her dance skills to win over Gu Heng.

Seeing how quickly she recovered and how unaffected she was by what happened last night, Wen Nongnong felt a little helpless, but still agreed.

"Let's go then."

In his study, Gu Linchao, who was handling government affairs, suddenly heard a melodious zither tune.

He paused for a moment, as if he could still hear the woman singing.

He listened intently for a while, recognizing Wen Nongnong's voice, and a smile appeared in his deep black eyes.

After thinking for a moment, he put down his pen, got up, and went outside.

As soon as Gu Heng and Wen Ruyi stepped into the Prince's mansion, they heard a zither tune they had never heard before. Upon closer listening, it sounded as if someone was singing.

When Butler Chen saw him, he was startled and hurriedly stepped forward to bow, but was stopped by the man raising his hand. "Uncle Chen, who is playing the zither and singing?"

Butler Chen shook his head, "This old servant doesn't know, but it should be our Princess."

Upon hearing this, not only did Wen Ruyi find it absurd, but even Gu Heng found it amusing. He raised an eyebrow and asked directly, "Has the Imperial Uncle taken a new concubine into the manor?"

Butler Chen said in surprise, "No, there isn't..."

"Is this music coming from the garden? Uncle Chen, please lead the way," Gu Heng interrupted him.

In his view, the music and singing must have been played by Gu Linchao's newly acquired beauty, and could absolutely not have been played by Wen Nongnong.

Butler Chen had no choice but to lead the way for him.
