Lu Yingying stared at her in surprise, her face flushed red all the way to her ears.
Seven, seven times?
Does that mean we won't need to sleep anymore?
Wen Tingyun was already troublesome enough, but the Regent Prince was even more difficult to deal with.
She couldn't imagine how Nong Nong could still be sitting there perfectly fine.
Every time she slept with Wen Tingyun, she would never be able to get up the next day, and her back would ache all day. She couldn't imagine how Nong Nong managed to get through it.
Seeing her reaction, Wen Nongnong knew she had overthought things. She smiled and said jokingly, "Sister-in-law is so easy to fool."
Lu Yingying: "..."
Wen Nong Nong chuckled and said, "Your Highness has great stamina, but it's impossible for him to need that many times in one night. Even if he had that ability, I couldn't handle it."
Upon hearing this, Lu Yingying finally understood what she meant: she and the prince had consummated their marriage.
Whether she was relieved or regretted asking the question, she stammered, "I...I have things to do in the yard, I...I'll go back first."
Seeing that she was so frightened that she was about to run away, Wen Nongnong was about to say something to comfort her frightened mind when a cough sounded outside the door.
The two of them turned to look at the same time.
Then they saw Wen Tingyun and Gu Linchao standing under the eaves, each holding an umbrella.
The two were stunned, as if struck by lightning: "..."
That cough just now, without a doubt, was Wen Tingyun's cough.
However, it's unclear how long the two had been there, or how much of their conversation they had overheard.
Judging from the interesting expressions on their faces, they probably haven't been here long.
Thinking of this, Wen Nongnong felt utterly hopeless.
Why did the two main characters in the story have to hear her rambling?
Lu Yingying kept her head down, no longer daring to look at the two men's faces.
Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.
Compared to Lu Yingying, who almost buried her head in her chest, Wen Nongnong was relatively calmer, but looking at the man's face, which was as black as the bottom of a pot, she was still a little uneasy.
Oh no, Gu Linchao must be angry.
Thinking about it, she suddenly burst into tears, "Your Highness, why did you take so long to arrive?"
Her tears came without warning. Lu Yingying, no longer caring about being embarrassed, looked up and stared blankly at her.
Lu Tingyun and Gu Linchao, who had just put away their umbrellas and were about to go inside, were caught off guard by her crying.
The former looked at his younger sister in surprise, while the latter, after a moment of stunned silence, softened her expression and walked towards Wen Nongnong.
"Why are you crying?" He had intended to keep a straight face, but when he saw the real tears on the girl's face, he unconsciously softened his voice.
Wen Nongnong immediately held up all ten of her fingers in front of him, "My fingers hurt so much..."
Gu Linchao looked over and saw several needle marks on her fingers. His heart tightened, and he no longer cared about questioning her nonsense. He took her fingers in his palm and gently kneaded them.
"How could you be so careless? And why did you touch the needle when you were perfectly fine?"
Wen Tingyun and Lu Yingying: "..."
The two were utterly amazed.
Seeing that her trick had worked, Wen Nongnong breathed a sigh of relief and said in a wronged tone, "I wanted to embroider a sachet for Your Highness..." As she spoke, she broke free from his hand, picked up the sachet she was almost finished embroidering from the table, and showed it to him, "I embroidered this myself. I didn't rest all day while embroidering this sachet."
Gu Linchao paused, his gaze landing on the sachet in her hand, and asked, "What...what did you embroider?"
“Auspicious clouds,” Wen Nongnong said.
Gu Linchao paused for a moment, then suddenly realized, "So it's auspicious clouds."
Just as Wen Nongnong was about to claim credit, Wen Tingyun, who had been watching the show for a while, suddenly chuckled, "Nongnong, are you sure that the flower you embroidered is an auspicious cloud, and not a snowball, or a ball of yarn?"
Wen Nongnong: "..."
Gu Linchao glanced at Wen Tingyun, "If Nong Nong says it's auspicious clouds, then it is auspicious clouds."
Wen Tingyun: "..."
Wen Nongnong said disdainfully, "Brother, you really have no taste. Our Prince is much better at appreciating things."
Wen Tingyun: "..."
He really didn't want to dampen her enthusiasm.
He glanced at Gu Linchao with a somewhat indescribable expression, thinking to himself: So this is the kind of regent you are!
However, it was truly unexpected that Gu Linchao would be so unprincipled in front of his own younger sister. If the entire court saw this, they would surely be shocked.
"That's true. Your Highness's taste is indeed beyond our comprehension." He said jokingly, putting his arm around Lu Yingying's shoulder. "Didn't you just say you wanted to go back to your courtyard? Let's go."
When Lu Yingying saw that he had taken her hand in front of others, she felt a little embarrassed, but she restrained herself from brushing his hand away and embarrassing him.
She did as he asked and followed him outside.
Wen Nong Nong watched the two of them walk out, and then the two of them shared an umbrella and walked into the rain.
Although the rain had lessened, Wen Tingyun still subconsciously moved the umbrella towards Lu Yingying.
The seemingly insignificant gesture was filled with warmth, making Wen Nongnong feel that the best love couldn't be more like this!
"My brother treats my sister-in-law very well," she suddenly exclaimed.
Gu Linchao also noticed Wen Tingyun's actions, and only after hearing what Wen Nongnong said did he turn his gaze away and look at her.
Wen Nong Nong pulled him to sit down. "Your Highness, please sit for a while. This sachet will be finished in just a few stitches. I'll finish it."
"Okay." Gu Linchao sat down next to her and felt a warmth in his heart when he saw that she was indeed embroidering the sachet very seriously.
