Chapter 437 Wen Nongnong and Gu Linchao shared a close embrace.

However, she is currently unarmed, so no matter how ruthless her moves are, Wen Nongnong can handle them.

After exchanging blows more than ten times, the maid became increasingly impatient.

Looking at the other person's slightly immature face, Wen Nongnong took the opportunity to coax, "Little girl, how much silver did the employer give you? As long as you give up killing me, I promise you, I will give you more silver, gold is also fine."

The maid frowned, and finally couldn't help but say, "You talk too much. I'm killing you now."

Wen Nongnong laughed, "I know, so isn't this me negotiating with you?"

The maid felt insulted.

How come this assassin is so intimidating? Not only is the other party not afraid, but they also dare to speak to her like that.

Thinking about it, she frowned, trying to make herself look more menacing.

Wen Nongnong realized that the female assassin in front of her was just a rookie killer. Thinking about it, she suddenly said, "Are you an assassin from the Crimson Feather Tower?"

The maid was startled and paused in her movements.

In that moment of hesitation, Wen Nongnong pounced on her, swiftly sweeping out a leg and kicking her to the ground. Then, she pounced on her with lightning speed, pinning down the maid who was trying to get up, and locking her fingers tightly around her throat, coldly saying, "Don't move if you don't want to die."

The maid was startled, then her face turned ashen.

Unexpectedly, she failed on her first mission.

Without Wen Nong Nong giving any instructions, Lü Qiao cleverly found a vine and quickly tied the maid up tightly.

"You brat, what have you learned but to kill? Do you think you can kill my young lady? If even a hair on her head were to fall, you wouldn't have enough lives to survive!" Green Fairy cursed angrily, pulling her up from the ground and slapping the maid on the back of the head.

The maid's face turned pale with anger, and she glared at her menacingly, "A scholar can be killed, but not humiliated! I have fallen into your hands today because I am not skilled enough. If you want to kill or torture me, just do it."

“She does have quite a bit of backbone.” Wen Nongnong looked at her leisurely, then suddenly lifted her left hand and pushed her sleeve up to her shoulder, revealing a feather-shaped tattoo on her upper arm.

This tattoo is the mark of the assassins from the Crimson Feather Tower.

The maid noticed her action and her expression changed repeatedly.

Wen Nongnong lowered her sleeve, frowned, and said, "Second Elder is really getting worse with age, actually sending a rookie like you on a mission. The key is that he actually went against my wishes and accepted this job. Does he have some kind of misunderstanding about heinous villains who are a menace to the region?"

She had made it very clear to the Second Elder that he would not kill anyone who was utterly wicked and a scourge to the region. Yet he had the audacity to send someone to kill her, the Regent's Consort.

Did he find the Akabane Tower too peaceful, so he couldn't resist finding some excitement for it?

The maid's expression grew increasingly strange. Who was this person, and why did he know about the secrets of the Crimson Feather Pavilion?

Wen Nongnong rummaged through her body and pulled out an oil paper package from her arms. When she opened it, she saw that it contained a piece of paper.

"What is this?" she asked, and seeing that the maid did not answer, she unfolded the paper herself.

When she saw the portrait drawn on the paper, she was so angry she almost lost her temper.

"Which bastard drew me so ugly?" Wen Nongnong was so angry she was about to explode. The portrait was hideous and didn't look like her at all, but unfortunately, her name and identity were marked on the side of the portrait, so even if she didn't want to recognize it, there was nothing she could do.

"Is the person who painted this painting jealous of me? And what kind of look is that? How does this portrait resemble me at all? How could you think I am the person in the painting and follow me here to kill me?"

Wen Nongnong said angrily, turning the portrait around for the maid to see, and then said with a gloomy face, "Tell me, in what way do I resemble the person in this portrait?"

Seeing that she was about to explode with anger, the maid said blankly, "Eyes, eyes like... and isn't your name and identity written next to it? It's easy to find."

Wen Nongnong: "..."

Green Fairy leaned closer for a look and nodded, "Miss, the eyes do indeed look very similar."

Wen Nongnong wiped the rain off her face and came to a conclusion, "You're all blind. My eyes are much better than hers." She seriously suspected that the artist was deliberately trying to smear her.

What grudge could possibly lead the artist to depict her in such a wretched way?

Greenie shrank her neck, shut her mouth and said no more. She picked up the straw hat and raincoat from the ground and handed them to her, saying, "Miss, it's still raining. Put them on quickly."

Wen Nong Nong pushed it away, "I look like a clay figure now, what's the point of wearing these?"

"That's true." Greenie reluctantly put the item back, then asked for instructions, "So, what should we do with this brat?"

"Pull her back first, and remember to keep a close eye on her so she doesn't escape," Wen Nongnong instructed.

"Yes." Green Fairy quickly tied the maid up tighter again.

Unable to find another passable path, and nearly killed halfway there, now covered in mud, Wen Nongnong was extremely frustrated.

She and Lü Qiao, one on each side, escorted the maid back.

Just then, they saw a man hurrying towards them through the rain and mist.

When Wen Nongnong saw the person's face clearly, she thought she was seeing things.

"Lvqiao, who is that person?" she asked uncertainly.

Upon seeing this, Lü Qiao was overjoyed, "Miss, it's the Prince!"

Upon hearing this, Wen Nongnong's hesitation vanished immediately. She lifted her soaked skirt and ran quickly toward the man.

After using his lightness skill to enter through the blocked road, Gu Linchao saw the Wen family's carriage. He originally thought Wen Nongnong would be in the carriage, but when he got there, he saw that only Madam Xu was in the carriage. After learning that Wen Nongnong had come in this direction, he followed her there.
