Chapter 486 Wen Nongnong unceremoniously rested her head on Gu Linchao's lap.

Gu Linchao said approvingly, "That's right." After a pause, he added, "I lived in Juezhou when I was a child, and I know that there is a Lingyun Mountain outside Juezhou City. Beyond Lingyun Mountain is the territory of Beidi."

However, Lingyun Mountain rises high into the clouds, like a natural barrier blocking Beidi. Logically, given its treacherous and steep terrain, it shouldn't be possible to create a shortcut. Moreover, even if it were possible, it couldn't be completed in the short term, unless they had begun planning it many years ago.

At this point, his heart sank.

Wen Nongnong gasped, "Isn't the King Jue afraid of making a deal with a tiger, leading Bei Di into a major undertaking, and then being unable to back down?"

"He did this so that I would be distracted. He wanted to use Bei Diqian to contain the imperial army while he led his troops straight to the capital."

As Gu Linchao spoke, he turned to Si Yi and instructed, "There is no time to lose. You should return to the capital as soon as possible, take my military tally, and dispatch the three armies to Juezhou in batches in secret. Make sure no word gets out. When you arrive in Juezhou, find a way to locate that secret passage and prevent the Beidi people from entering Daye."

Si Yi knelt on one knee. "Your subordinate obeys."

“Go ahead, I’ll be there shortly,” Gu Linchao said.

"Yes." Si Yi replied respectfully, got up and left the room, only to bump into Lü Qiao who was carrying a bowl of medicine.

When Lü Qiao saw him come out, her body tensed up instantly, and she stared at him warily.

Si Yi frowned slightly and subconsciously looked down at his bitten left hand.

He shook his hand, but didn't say a word, and quickly walked past her.

Lü Qiao breathed a sigh of relief and carried the medicine bowl into the house.

Inside the room, Wen Nongnong held Gu Linchao's hand, a hint of worry between her brows. "Are you going to Juezhou?"

"We absolutely have to go." Gu Linchao's expression was solemn.

"But your eyes..."

Gu Linchao paused, then smiled wryly, "This time, I'll have to rely on Nong Nong as my eyes."

Wen Nongnong sighed inwardly, but did not stop her. Instead, she joked to herself, "Then I'm definitely the most qualified guide."

Gu Linchao smiled and patted her shoulder, "Nongnong, go pack your things, we'll leave now."

"Okay," Wen Nongnong replied.

"Miss, the prince's medicine is ready. Please drink it while it's hot." Green Fairy brought the medicine forward.

"I'll do it. You go and tidy up first. We'll leave in a bit," Wen Nongnong said, taking the medicine bowl.

"Yes." Lü Qiao didn't ask any more questions and quickly left.

When Xuanqing learned that Gu Linchao was leaving, he came to the side courtyard in person.

Why are you leaving all of a sudden?

“Things have changed, I have to go to Juezhou,” Gu Linchao said.

Upon hearing this, Xuanqing did not ask any further questions, but simply said, "Then I will send someone to escort you there."

"Thank you, Master." Gu Linchao did not refuse.

Now that he is blind, he is worried about leaving Nong Nong to take him to Juezhou alone.

Just as we were about to set off, Bai Li returned.

“You’re back just in time. We’re about to head to Juezhou now,” Wen Nongnong said.

Bai Li immediately said, "The people sent out by the Second Elder have sent back a message saying that they have information about Daoist Lingyin's whereabouts."

Wen Nongnong was overjoyed, "Really?"

"That's what the Second Elder said. After you sent me to Tunzhou to inform them to look for someone, they immediately sent people out to search. As you know, Chiyu Tower has its own channels for finding someone, and they made progress yesterday," Bai Li said.

Wen Nongnong was overjoyed, "Where is the Lingyin Daoist now?"

Bai Li said somewhat strangely, "It is in Juezhou."

Wen Nongnong was taken aback. What a coincidence that Master Lingyin was also in Juezhou?

She suppressed her surprise and said, "We're also going to Juezhou, so let's go."

Because Gu Linchao had difficulty seeing, Wen Nongnong rode in a carriage with him.

The group disguised themselves as ordinary citizens and made a low-key trip to Juezhou.

However, when they reached the foot of the mountain, they encountered Wang Houde, who had come all the way there.

"Why is Eunuch Wang here?" Wen Nongnong asked, somewhat surprised.

Wang Houde quickly replied, "This servant has found traces of Daoist Lingyin."

Wen Nongnong asked, "Is Master Lingyin in Juezhou?"

"That's right." Wang Houde was somewhat surprised. "Your Majesty already knows?"

"Yes. It's the news Bai Li just brought back," Wen Nongnong said.

Upon hearing this, Wang Houde glanced at Bai Li, who was riding a horse beside him, and thought to himself, "This girl is actually faster than me."

"Is Master alright now?" Wang Houde asked.

"Nothing much, we're heading to Juezhou now," Wen Nongnong said.

Upon hearing this, Wang Houde dismounted and said to the young monk Jingchen, who was driving the carriage, "Little Master, let me drive the carriage."

"Amitabha." Jingchen chanted the Buddhist prayer and stepped off the carriage cleanly and neatly.

The group continued their journey.

Inside the carriage, Wen Nongnong held Gu Linchao's hand and said, "Your Highness, Master Lingyin is in Juezhou. As long as you find him, your eyes will soon be able to regain their sight."

"Hmm," Gu Linchao responded in a low voice.

Wen Nongnong looked at his handsome face and asked, "Is Your Highness sleepy? Would you like to lie down and rest? It's quite a journey to Juezhou." As she spoke, she patted her leg, "Your Highness can rest on my lap."

Gu Linchao's lips curled up slightly, and he raised his hand to touch her face. "I'm not sleepy. If you are, then go to sleep." He paused, "Nongnong can lie on my lap."

Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the girl unceremoniously rested her head on his lap.

"Then I won't be polite," she said with a grin.

Gu Linchao chuckled, stroking her long hair with his fingers. "Okay, go to sleep."

Wen Nong Nong hugged his waist. "I'm not actually sleepy. I want to talk to Your Highness."

"Whatever you say," Gu Linchao replied softly.

The carriage traveled for about an hour, and when it passed through a valley, it suddenly stopped.

Wen Nongnong was lying on Gu Linchao's lap, feeling sleepy from the swaying of the carriage. Suddenly the carriage stopped, and she almost rolled off the stool, but luckily Gu Linchao caught her in time.

"What happened?" Gu Linchao asked in a deep voice.

Wang Houde stared at the dozen or so men in black in front of him, his face grim, and said, "Master, there are assassins."

Before he could finish speaking, the assassins had already charged forward with their swords drawn.

"Protect the Prince!" Wang Houde shouted.

The guards who came with him, as well as the warrior monks of Huangming Temple, surrounded the carriage.

Wen Nongnong sat in the carriage and frowned when she heard the sounds of weapons clashing outside.

She rolled down the car window and looked out. She saw that the other side had a large number of people, and each of them was skilled in martial arts. They were able to hold their own against the guards of the Prince's Palace and the martial monks of Huangming Temple.

"Who sent these people?" Wen Nongnong closed the window and sat down next to Gu Linchao.

Gu Linchao held her hand without saying a word.

Seeing the man standing motionless, Wen Nong Nong gradually calmed down, leaned on his arm, and listened to the sounds outside.

Wen Nongnong did not expect that this battle would last for a long time before it finally subsided.

When she got out of the carriage, she saw Lü Qiao applying medicine and bandaging Bai Li, who was sitting by the roadside.

Seeing this, she asked urgently, "Bai Li, are you injured?"
