"Congratulations!" Wen Nongnong said with relief, then picked up a pastry from the table and fed it to Gu Linchao. "Your Highness, these are Si Yi and Lü Qiao's wedding cakes. Please try them."
Gu Linchao was completely confused, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Wedding cakes?"
“Yes, Si Yi mentioned to me today that he would propose marriage to me in a couple of days and ask me to marry Lü Qiao to him,” Wen Nong Nong explained.
Upon hearing this, Lü Qiao stood aside, at a loss for what to do.
The servants attending to her all looked at her in surprise.
Greenie was both shy and embarrassed, her face flushed red.
Gu Linchao was somewhat surprised upon hearing this, but asked gently, "Really?"
"Of course it's true. Would I lie to you about something like this?" Wen Nongnong said with a smile. "Your Highness, please eat and share in the joy of Si Yi and Lü Qiao."
Helpless, Gu Linchao had no choice but to take a bite.
Knowing that he didn't like sweets, Wen Nongnong didn't force him. She ate the rest herself and then gave the pastries on the table to Bai Li, saying, "I'm sharing this with everyone so they can all share in Si Yi and Lü Qiao's good fortune."
Bai Li smiled and glanced at Lü Qiao, then distributed the pastries as instructed.
"Congratulations, Miss Lüqiao." The servants congratulated Lüqiao after receiving the pastries.
Greenie's face turned so red it almost reached her neck.
Wen Nongnong noticed her embarrassment and comforted her with a smile, "Don't be shy, this is a good thing, and our royal palace hasn't had a wedding in a long time. I really hope your marriage with Si Yi can be settled soon... Ugh!"
Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly gagged, and her stomach churned.
