Lu Qiao was drenched in sweat from the heat, and naturally, Si Yi wasn't much better off.
As the wedding candles crackled and popped, a pile of clothes fell to the floor in front of the bed.
Lu Qiao's lips were a little sore from Si Yi's kisses, but she didn't get his next move.
Seeing that her lips would be too sore to show tomorrow, she could only suppress her shyness and ask in a low voice, "Si Yi, do you... do you not understand?"
Si paused, looking at the girl's sweat-dampened hair beneath him, and asked in a hoarse voice, "You seem to know a lot?"
Green Beauty: "..."
Without him answering, she could tell from his expression that he truly didn't understand.
"I probably know a little more than you," she said after a long pause, blushing.
Si Yi: "..."
...
Before Lü Qiao fell into a deep sleep, a sentence flashed through her mind: Sometimes, a man's words really can't be trusted.
Si Yi, that bastard!
She regretted it.
...
The next day, Lü Qiao slept in quite late before getting up, but even so...
When she got up, Si Yi wasn't in the room. After washing up, she sat on the edge of the tatami mat, massaging her waist and legs.
At this moment, Si Yi walked in carrying a food box.
Seeing her massaging her legs, he paused for a moment, then placed the food box on the table and turned to walk towards her.
"Do you want me to help you?" He squatted down next to her, placed his hands on her legs, and made a gesture as if he wanted to massage her.
Green Fairy was startled and quickly shook her head, "No, no, I'm fine now."
"Are you really alright?" Si Yi looked at her quietly with his dark eyes.
Green blushed and nodded, trying to appear calm as she said, "It's really nothing..." How could she possibly let him help her massage her face?
Seeing this, Si Yi didn't force her and said gently, "Then let's go eat first."
"Oh." Green Fairy breathed a sigh of relief, got up as instructed, and followed him to the table.
Just then, Si Yi suddenly stopped.
Caught off guard, Lü Qiao bumped into it headfirst.
Si was taken aback for a moment, then turned around and helped her up. "What's wrong? You're so careless even when you're walking. Are you feeling unwell?"
Meeting his meaningful gaze, Lü Qiao paused for a moment, then suddenly realized what he meant and hurriedly shook her head, "No, I'm not feeling unwell."
Si smiled and said, "That's good."
Lü Qiao realized what was happening and felt a little embarrassed. Why was she so flustered?
"Let's eat." Si Yi rubbed her head.
"Oh, okay."
The two sat facing each other and ate breakfast.
Halfway through the meal, Lü Qiao noticed that he was only eating the plain porridge in his bowl without picking up any other food, so she couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Is something on your mind?"
Si Yi was taken aback by his question. "Why do you ask that?"
"I can tell you're not very happy," Green Fairy said softly, putting down her chopsticks.
Si Yi frowned. "I'm not unhappy. Don't overthink it."
“But I can feel it,” Green Fairy said somewhat sullenly. “Can you tell me about it? Otherwise I’ll think you’re dissatisfied with me.”
Si paused for a moment, then took her hand. "I have no complaints about you. In fact, I..." He hesitated, his handsome face slightly flushed, "...I am very satisfied with you."
Upon hearing this, Lü Qiao felt a sweet warmth in her heart, but pretended not to hear and said, "What did you say? I didn't hear you."
Si glanced at her, then suddenly grabbed her arm, pulled her over, and made her sit on his lap.
"You can tell for yourself," he said in a low voice after a long pause.
Lü Qiao's face was already flushed with embarrassment.
...
Lü Qiao didn't understand why the two of them were eating breakfast, so she lay down on the couch.
The next day, she had just woken up when she saw Si Yi sitting neatly dressed on the edge of the bed.
She paused for a moment, then slowly sat up and asked softly, "Are you going out?"
A hint of guilt flashed in Si Yi's eyes as he nodded. "Yes. The prince is going to the capital, and I must accompany him." Actually, his master had considered that he was newly married and hadn't taken him on this trip; it was Si Yi's own wish to go.
The master's journey to the capital this time is no small matter and fraught with danger. How could he only think of himself and stay in the Prince of Xiang's mansion indulging in pleasure?
But he felt deeply guilty and remorseful for leaving his newlywed wife behind.
"Lvqiao, wait for me to come back." Of all the words he wanted to say, he only said this one sentence in the end.
Green Fairy was stunned for a moment because it was so sudden, but she didn't pause for long and immediately nodded, "Okay, you must come back safely."
When Si saw that she didn't ask anything or blame him, his guilt intensified.
He pulled her into his arms and held her close. "Lüqiao, I'm sorry."
“You don’t need to apologize. Even though we’re married, I can’t keep you tied down. Go do what you want to do without worry, but you must take care of yourself and come back safe and sound.” Green Fairy reached out and hugged him, speaking in a relaxed tone.
Upon hearing this, Si Yi pursed his lips and remained silent, but instead held her tighter.
While the two were bidding each other a reluctant farewell, Wen Nongnong also got up early in the main courtyard to see Gu Linchao off at the door.
"Your Highness, you must return safely. My child and I are waiting for you," Wen Nongnong said gently, suppressing her reluctance.
She tried to appear indifferent because she didn't want to burden him, but how could Gu Linchao not understand her intentions?
But he said nothing, only reached out to pull her cloak tighter, then patted her shoulder and said gently, "Take good care of yourself."
"Okay." Wen Nongnong nodded with a smile.
Gu Linchao suppressed his reluctance to part with her and mounted his horse.
Wang Houde had to stay at the palace to protect Wen Nongnong, so only Wen Tingyun and the eight generals accompanied him this time.
