A-Tuo Jiang Hua was stunned by the fall. When she heard his question, she frowned and looked up, "What can I do to you?"
"That's a question for you." Xiao Yan turned his head away, quite annoyed. "I never expected you to be this kind of person."
"What kind of person am I?" A-Tuo Jiang Hua sensed the strong sarcasm in his words and was immediately dissatisfied. She grabbed his collar roughly and said angrily, "Explain yourself."
Xiao Yan was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening, patted her hand, and scolded, "How can you be so rude? You have no manners at all! Let go of me right now!"
"Don't expect me to let you go until you explain yourself clearly." A-Tuo Jiang Hua glared down at him, refusing to back down.
Xiao Yan laughed in anger, and couldn't help but say, "You barbaric woman, you really are from the barbarian frontier. Don't you know anything about shame?"
“You’ve already said I’m from the barbarian lands, so of course I don’t understand.” Atuo Jianghua simply sat on him and sneered.
Xiao Yan couldn't bear to look at her posture and said with a flushed face, "Get up right now!"
"No, I won't." Seeing that he was getting anxious, Atuo Jianghua felt rather pleased, crossed her arms, and looked at him leisurely.
Xiao Yan gritted his teeth, "You really aren't getting up?"
“Yes, I’m not getting up.” Atuo Jianghua remained sitting steadily.
Xiao Yan sneered, "You asked for this."
Just as A Tuo Jiang Hua was about to say something, the man's large hand suddenly covered her mouth. Before she could react, the man's iron arm wrapped around her waist.
Before she could even scream, she was thrown to the ground.
The cold floor sent a shiver through her body. She stared wide-eyed at the man on top of her in disbelief.
Xiao Yan released his grip, looking triumphantly at the stunned woman beneath him. He reached out and patted her face. "You brat, you're so insignificant, yet you dare to challenge me? How does it feel?"
When Atuo Jianghua came to her senses and saw his smug look, she suddenly grabbed his hand and bit it hard.
The excruciating pain in his fingers nearly made Xiao Yan scream out in agony.
Fortunately, he remembered that he was in the palace, so he managed to suppress his cry of pain.
Fortunately, Atuo Jianghua quickly let go.
Even so, Xiao Yan was still in too much pain to speak. Looking at the ring of teeth marks on his index finger, sweat beaded on his forehead. "You...you're so vicious!"
A-Tuo Jiang Hua pushed him away, got up, dusted off her clothes, raised her eyebrows, and mimicked his tone, saying, "How was it? Did it feel good?"
Xiao Yan: "..."
Seeing that he was in so much pain that he couldn't speak for a long time, Atuo Jianghua leaned closer to take a look, "Does it really hurt that much?"
"Why don't you try and see?" Xiao Yan suddenly grabbed her finger and said in a harsh voice.
A-Tuo Jiang Hua was startled, thinking he was going to bite her too, and closed her eyes in fright.
Looking at the woman's beautiful, slender fingers, Xiao Yan couldn't bring himself to bite her. He reluctantly shook off her hand and stood up.
It hurt so much! That brat is really ruthless.
He flicked his fingers and walked towards the tunnel entrance.
Seeing this, Atuo Jianghua quickly said, "Hey, didn't you have something to tell me?"
Xiao Yan glanced at her, snorted coldly, and said, "Not in the mood." After saying that, he jumped down into the tunnel with ease, and then left without even bothering to replace the floor tiles.
Atuo Jianghua lay down at the entrance of the tunnel and looked down. It was pitch black below, and Xiao Yan was nowhere to be seen.
Is this guy angry?
She reflected on her actions and realized she had indeed bitten off more than she should.
But who can blame him for being so awful?
Serves you right!
She gave a cold snort and turned to take a bath.
The next day.
After dinner, Atuo Jianghua and Guo Yuzhen went for a stroll in the garden. Because of the cold weather, they did not stay long before returning to their respective palaces.
When Atuo Jianghua pushed open the door, she was startled to see the person sitting inside and quickly turned around to close the door.
"When did you arrive?" she asked, frowning as she looked at the man sitting at the table, leisurely sipping his tea.
Xiao Yan deliberately waved his thickly wrapped index finger in front of her before saying, "I've been here for a while."
Seeing his bandaged index finger, Atuo Jianghua felt a little guilty. Her eyes darted around, and she asked, "Is something wrong?"
"Hmm." Xiao Yan was somewhat satisfied when he saw that she was feeling guilty.
Actually, his finger had stopped hurting a long time ago; he was just deliberately bandaging it so thickly.
He just wanted to see if this woman had a heart.
Yes, feeling guilty means you still have feelings for them.
Remembering the important matter, his expression became much more serious, and he frowned as he said, "I won't be able to go to Jingci Palace for the foreseeable future."
Atuo Jianghua was taken aback. "What?"
"The Emperor forbids me from seeing the Empress Dowager," Xiao Yan said.
"So?" Atuo Jianghua asked.
“The Emperor is wary of me, so I can no longer go to Jingci Palace. You will need to bring the Empress Dowager here. To avoid it seeming too abrupt, you should visit Jingci Palace more often during this period,” Xiao Yan said in a deep voice.
Upon hearing this, Atuo Jianghua immediately replied, "I am going to Jingci Palace today."
Xiao Yan hurriedly asked, "How is the Empress Dowager's mental state? Is she in any serious physical condition?"

Xiao Yan paused for a moment, then asked, "Why did you suddenly decide to go to Jingci Palace?"
After thinking for a moment, A-Tuo Jiang Hua told him about what she and Guo Yuzhen had overheard last time.
