Although Wen Nongnong was hungry, the thought of eating with this kind of person was too disgusting. No matter how good her acting skills were, she couldn't keep up the act anymore.
"No need, I've already made plans to eat with Si Lan."
Gu Heng paused for a moment, "You mean Si Lan? But when did you two become so close?" He looked at her with some confusion.
"I suppose you wouldn't be interested in matters between women," Wen Nongnong said casually.
Upon hearing this, Gu Heng didn't ask any further questions, but instead said in a way that left no room for refusal, "Then let's all eat together. Xin Jian, go and invite Si Lan and Si Luo."
The man in black turned and left.
Wen Nongnong wanted to leave with Si Lan's help, so no matter how much she disliked Gu Heng, she had to endure it first, otherwise angering him would be detrimental to her.
The Si siblings arrived quickly.
Si Luo's expression was indifferent, with a hint of melancholy between her brows. When she came over, she first looked at Wen Nong Nong to make sure she was alright before taking Si Lan and walking towards Gu Heng.
Si Lan was quite happy because Gu Heng had invited her to have dinner together.
She stepped forward and tentatively reached out to take his arm.
Gu Heng paused for a moment, but ultimately did not push her away.
Si Lan was delighted to see that his complexion was not as gloomy as it had been in the past few days. While she was happy, she also felt a little down.
Ever since Gu Linchao led his army to conquer Tunzhou, he had never smiled. Even on the day he abandoned the palace and fled, he always had a gloomy face and was full of hostility.
Only now, upon seeing Wen Nongnong, has a slight smile appeared on his face.
"What are you looking at?" Gu Heng noticed her gaze and asked somewhat impatiently.
Si Lan quickly suppressed the bitterness in her heart and said with a smile, "You seem very happy today. I was thinking, if only you could be this happy every day."
Gu Heng was taken aback, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes. He didn't say anything more and led her into the cabin first.
Si Luo looked at Wen Nongnong, who was standing still, and asked softly, "How are you? Are you alright?"
Wen Nongnong resented him for bringing her here and never gave him a kind look. "I don't need your pretense."
Si Luo looked downcast as she watched the woman walk into the cabin.
The night was peaceful.
The ship continued its journey the following day.
Although nothing happened last night, Wen Nongnong couldn't sleep at all and stayed awake until dawn. After daybreak, she was worried about running into that bastard Gu Heng, so she didn't dare to leave the cabin.
She lay in the cabin and fell asleep without realizing it.
At noon, Si Luo brought her some food.
Although she still didn't give him a friendly look, she didn't reject his kindness.
Si Luo breathed a sigh of relief.
Only after watching her pick up the food did he feel relieved and leave.
Even though she was hungry, Wen Nongnong had no appetite. She ate a couple of bites and then put the food down.
Si Lan hasn't replied to her yet, is it because she hasn't figured it out?
Thinking about it, she became anxious, but she could only suppress her temper and wait for Si Lan to come to her.
However, Si Lan did not appear all day. In the evening, Xin Jian came over and said that Gu Heng had prepared a banquet and invited her to come and sit down.
Wen Nongnong glanced at him. Although he looked ordinary, his martial arts skills were probably no less than Si Luo's. She hadn't expected that Gu Heng had such a master by his side. This made her escape even more difficult.
If Silan hadn't helped her, she really wouldn't have been able to leave.
She sighed inwardly, thinking that now was not the time to clash with Gu Heng, so she got up and followed Xin Jian to Gu Heng's cabin.
I had assumed that since it was a banquet, the Si siblings would surely be there as well.
But when she went in, Gu Heng was the only one sitting behind the table in the cabin, pouring himself a drink, while the dishes on the table were plentiful.
Seeing this, Wen Nongnong naturally didn't want to go in and turned to leave, but Xin Jian stood behind her like a wall, blocking her way.
Wen Nongnong frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly.
That bastard Gu Heng invited her over under the guise of hosting a banquet; what good could he possibly be up to?
Just as she was about to rush out, Gu Heng, who was completely drunk, got up, stumbled over, and grabbed her hand.
"Nongnong, have a drink with me..."
Unable to bear it any longer, Wen Nongnong slapped him across the face. "Gu Heng, I'm your imperial aunt, have you no shame?"
The crisp sound of a slap echoed through the cabin, and the drunken Gu Heng didn't react for a long time.
This was the first time in his life he had been slapped, and he seemed completely dazed.
After a long while, he raised his hand to touch his left cheek where he had been slapped, then suddenly chuckled, looked up at Wen Nongnong, and curled his lips into a smile, but a sinister look flashed in his eyes. On his face, however, he seemed completely unaffected and said softly with a smile, "Auntie, you are right to teach me a lesson."
As he spoke, he bent down and poured a glass of wine from the table, handing it to her. "Today, I was impolite. I apologize to you, my aunt. I hope you will drink this glass of wine and forgive my rudeness."
Wen Nongnong glanced at him, knowing full well that he wasn't being sincere. "Let's skip the wine. If you can come to your senses, that would be for the best." With that, she turned and walked away.
But Xin Jian remained there, blocking the way like a wall.
Wen Nongnong narrowed her eyes, and without wasting words with him, she threw a punch at his face.
Her punch was fast and hard. She knew she couldn't possibly be a match for him and wanted to take him down before he could react.
But she didn't know the other party's strength or weakness. Just as her fist was about to hit the other party's face, the other party suddenly dodged to the side, successfully avoiding her attack.
Seeing this, Wen Nongnong quickly swung the chain in her hand, intending to strangle the other person's neck.
Xin Jian hadn't expected her to react so quickly; her first attack failed, and then her follow-up move came.
