Chapter Twenty-Four: A faint smile played at the corners of Gu Linchao's lips.

The carriage drove directly into the palace and stopped outside the Jingci Palace.

"Your Highness, we have arrived at the palace," Wang Houde said respectfully, standing beside the carriage.

However, there was no response from inside the carriage for a long time, and Wen Nongnong did not come out.

Seeing this, Wang Houde had no choice but to call out again.

But the result was still the same; the carriage remained quiet.

Wang Houde was somewhat surprised. Could it be that the princess was asleep inside?

Thinking it over, he raised his voice a little, "Your Highness, we have arrived at Jingci Palace. Please dismount from the carriage."

After he finished speaking, he waited for a moment, but there was still no movement from inside the carriage.

Just as he was about to open the car door to check, Gu Linchao walked over.

"What happened?"

Wang Houde quickly turned around and reported, "Master, it seems that the Princess Consort has fallen asleep in the carriage. No matter how I call her, she will not get out of the carriage."

Gu Linchao frowned. What was that woman up to now?

After thinking for a moment, he finally stepped forward.

The carriage door opened, and sure enough, Wen Nongnong was asleep leaning against the carriage, fast asleep.

Wang Houde laughed and said, "The princess is indeed asleep."

Gu Linchao raised his hand and knocked on the car door. "Wen Nongnong, get out of the car quickly."

"Shut up!" Wen Nong Nong turned around impatiently.

But she didn't remember that she was still in the carriage, and since she had been sleeping sitting up, she turned around and fell to the ground with a thud.

Although the ground was covered with a thick blanket, so she wouldn't fall and get hurt, Wen Nongnong was still confused for a long time after opening her eyes, not knowing what had happened.

"puff!"

A muffled laugh came from behind her, and Wen Nongnong came to her senses, propping herself up on the carpet.

Turning his head, he saw Gu Linchao standing outside the carriage, with Wang Houde beside him, his face flushed red from trying not to laugh.

Gu Linchao had a faint smile on his lips. "Since you're awake, come down."

Even if Wen Nongnong were slow to realize what had happened, she would know.

Thinking about the foolish thing she had done, she felt a little annoyed and got out of the carriage with her head down.

Wang Houde had already had a stool placed next to the carriage.

However, when she got out of the car, she accidentally stepped on the hem of her skirt, and she fell forward uncontrollably.

"Your Highness, be careful!" Wang Houde exclaimed in alarm.

Gu Linchao, who had already walked ahead, heard the sound and turned around. He saw the girl who was about to fall to the ground suddenly brace herself with one hand, then did a beautiful somersault and landed successfully on the ground.

Gu Linchao was taken aback.

Wang Houde rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things.

A flicker of surprise crossed Si Yi's cold face.

"Slap, slap..."

Just then, a round of applause suddenly rang out.

Everyone looked over and saw several people walking over from the side.

Leading the group was a young man dressed in a bright yellow dragon robe; he was none other than the current emperor, Gu Heng.

He is still very young, only seventeen years old this year, but because he is wearing a dragon robe, he appears to be more mature and composed. He is handsome and has a tall and slender figure.

The one clapping, however, was not him, but the man who was a step behind him.

The man had handsome features, with slanted bangs on his forehead, and wore a wide purple robe, giving him a dashing and unrestrained air.

"Your Highness, you are quite skilled!" The man looked at Wen Nong Nong with a smile, his eyes flashing with amazement.

Wen Nongnong was unaware of his identity and was about to speak when Gu Linchao suddenly turned back, stood in front of her, and blocked the man's view. "Please forgive the Duke Xiao's rudeness."

Xiao Yan was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Hengzhi has only just returned, and his relationship with the Princess Consort is already so good. I am very pleased as his uncle."
