Chapter 109 Utterly Lazy

Everyone knows the rumor circulating outside the palace that the princess is incredibly lazy, never leaves her residence, and rarely sees anyone. How could her daughter possibly chat with the princess all the time?

Although everyone despised him in their hearts, they still smiled and made a few perfunctory remarks before leaving.

Su Lixia sneezed repeatedly, rubbed her nose, and then sniffed, muttering to herself, "Who's talking about me?"

"Princess, have you caught a cold? Should we have the imperial physician take a look?"

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia waved her hand and said, "It's nothing, just an itchy nose and a few sneezes."

Xiao Lian raised an eyebrow and then remained silent.

"Xiao Lian, how many of these things down there have you prepared?"

Xiaolian was a little confused, not knowing which "below" she was referring to, or what "below" meant.

Seeing this, Su Lixia narrowed her glasses and said, "It's just that my period just started, you know what I mean."

"Oh, oh, oh~" Xiaolian finally realized what was going on and said, "You prepared five in total?"

Su Lixia was taken aback: "Five? Are you sure that's enough?"

"There used to be three, but things dry quickly in the summer, so we don't need as many things as we do in the winter."

Su Lixia's lips twitched...

If it dries quickly, then it means it's being reused.

Thinking of this, Su Lixia came up with a plan. She snapped her fingers at Xiaolian, chuckled, and asked, "Around what time do you usually get your period?"

Upon hearing this, Xiaolian's face turned pale, and she said with shame and indignation, "Oh, Princess! Why are you asking this?"

Su Lixia chuckled, surprised that the girls here were so shy.

"Hey, we're all girls, what's there to be embarrassed about?"

Xiao Lian's face was still a little flushed as she muttered softly, "It's...it's only about ten days earlier than the princess."

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia said "Oh," and then added, "So you're at the beginning of the month."

Xiaolian nodded and hummed in agreement.

"Then I'll have a chance to experiment. When you come back, you can try it yourself. Maybe we can make a lot of money here."

Upon hearing this, Xiaolian exclaimed in confusion, not understanding what she meant.

So Su Lixia asked, "Don't you find it inconvenient and uncomfortable to use this every time?"

Xiaolian shook her head and said, "It's not too inconvenient, I've gotten used to it."

Su Lixia clapped her hands: "See? This shows that there are still some inconveniences."

Xiao Lian smiled awkwardly and said, "Then whatever the princess says goes."

"By the way, we have cotton and gauze here. What other materials can we use for that stuff?" Su Lixia suddenly wondered. She had ideas to make money, but no brains to put them into practice.

"A filter layer, an absorbent layer, some are cotton, some are yarn. Even if there's no filter layer, there has to be an absorbent layer, that's what makes it comfortable, and so on..."

After talking to herself, Su Lixia lifted the leather stool, reached inside again to feel around, and then looked at her hand: "No leaks!" Su Lixia was very surprised.

Xiaolian was shocked and terrified; this series of actions completely stunned her.

Then Su Lixia looked at her and said, "Xiao Lian, go and get a new one."

Xiaolian hesitated for a moment, then nodded and went to get it.

She returned shortly after, carrying a thick, tightly wrapped package.

Su Lixia blinked, took the things from her hands, and asked, "You brought all of this?"

"You'll know once you open it, Princess."

Su Lixia hummed in agreement, then placed the item on the table and slowly opened it. Inside was a small brown wooden box. Su Lixia opened the box and found a silk scarf at the bottom.

Gently pick up the silk scarf, and when you lift it up, there's just a lonely old-fashioned sanitary napkin inside.

Su Lixia was speechless for a moment…

"Were women in ancient times really so thin-skinned?" Su Lixia wondered.

"This is the newest one that hasn't been used much," Xiaolian explained.

Su Lixia nodded, picked it up, and walked into the house.

Xiao Lian followed silently behind, ready to help her change her things.

However…

Su Lixia sat down in front of the dressing table, then took out a small pair of scissors from the drawer and quickly separated the pieces.

Xiao Lian was shocked when she saw it.

He quickly asked, "Princess, what are you doing?"

Su Lixia explained, "This is important. Go and get some clean gauze and cotton. We'll need them later."

Although Xiaolian didn't know what she was up to, she hesitated for a while before deciding to go and get it.

After disassembling the item, Su Lixia found the absorbent layer inside, smiled smugly, and slowly took the item out.

A moment later, Xiaolian brought over the things, and Su Lixia looked at the crumpled cotton and had a new worry.

"This has to be like fluffing cotton, layering it up to make it work." He frowned, clicked his tongue, then stood up with the cotton in his arms and said, "Right now, we need to find a hand-weaving workshop to process this cotton."

Xiaolian scratched her head and said, "Perhaps they have some at home. Could their cotton-padded clothes be made from outside?"

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia patted her shoulder and praised, "Our Xiaolian is so clever and resourceful. I didn't think of this. Let's go find the Prince. He may have already returned from court."

"Yes." But hurry up and let the prince wake you up; you're acting strangely every day.

Before they even reached Yi Zexuan, they ran into Xue Yurou on the way.

"We've met on a narrow path." Su Lixia prayed silently in her heart, "Don't pay attention to me, don't pay attention to me, don't see me, don't see me!"

However…

"Rou'er greets the princess." Xue Yurou stepped forward and greeted Su Lixia.

Su Lixia chuckled awkwardly and said, "Miss, there's no need for such formalities. Just say hello from now on."

Xue Yurou smiled slightly, then asked, "Is the princess also going to the prince's place?"

"Is Miss going too?"

"Yes. The prince has just returned, and I was just about to go and serve him his writing materials. It's on my way, so why don't we go together?"

Su Lixia raised an eyebrow and said, "Alright, but speaking of which, why wasn't the task of writing this ink and brush done by the servants? Instead, you're the one doing it."

"Ever since she entered the Prince's mansion, Rou'er has been serving the Prince. I've been taking care of her writing and writing. I was afraid she wouldn't be used to it if she suddenly changed people, so I've been doing it all along. It's not a heavy job."

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia seized the opportunity and said, "In that case, you should be the prince's wife. After all, you understand his lifestyle and habits, so you are the perfect match."

Su Lixia was just stating her position and proving that she wouldn't compete with her, but the other party suddenly knelt down, catching everyone off guard.

Su Lixia was startled and took a step back, looking down at her with a shocked expression.

She stammered, "Rou'er wouldn't dare. Your Highness, please don't say that. Rou'er can't bear it."

Su Lixia's lips twitched: "What kind of scene is this? It's not written in the book!"
