Chapter 135 The Garden

"Seeing that Your Majesty is getting better and better, and that there are people to treat your illness, I am happy for Your Majesty. This improvement is all the more joyous. It seems that we are really getting closer and closer to success."

The lord laughed heartily twice and said, "Things have indeed been going quite smoothly lately, but we're still far from success." As he said this, he couldn't help but sigh.

“Once Your Majesty recovers, what is there to fear? The future is bright, and I believe Your Majesty will surely succeed.”

The lord patted her hand: "I will certainly not let everyone down."

"Princess, we've arrived." Lin Ziwen dismounted and walked to the door of Su Lixia's carriage, saying this.

Su Lixia lifted the carriage curtain and stepped down with a grin: "It's definitely more interesting to have peace and quiet here."

Just like those modern luxury villas, they're all in the suburbs. Sure enough, wealthy people, used to a noisy life, prefer to gather in quiet suburban places. Su Lixia sighed inwardly as she looked at the prosperity before her.

"Let's go inside and talk about it. The crabs won't taste good if they get cold."

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia lifted her skirt and ran into the yard, saying as she ran, "Oh! Yes, yes, yes! Big crab, here I come!"

"Princess, slow down!" Xiao Lian waved from behind.

Lin Ziwen chuckled. Su Lixia ran up the steps to the courtyard, turned around, waved to Lin Ziwen, and said, "Come on over here!"

Lin Ziwen smiled indulgently: "Hey! You're here!" and followed.

So where are we going to eat?

"It's cooler here, why don't we eat in the garden gazebo?"

Su Lixia blinked: "You also have a garden?"

Lin Ziwen hummed in agreement: "It's always been there. Didn't the princess see it when she came back last time?"

Su Lixia shook her head: "Your thing is too big. I almost got lost when I went out for a walk last time."

Lin Ziwen laughed twice and said, "How could that be? The palace is so big, it's not the same as this."

"Tsk tsk, can't compare, can't compare, they're completely different." Su Lixia shook her head and sighed.

As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Ziwen's butler came to greet him.

"Is the food ready?"

"Everything is ready, but since the young master hasn't returned yet, the crabs haven't been steamed."

Lin Ziwen raised an eyebrow: "It seems the princess won't be able to see the crabs right away."

"It's alright, it's alright. Judging from the housekeeper's words, the crabs will definitely be cooked quickly. There's no rush. Let's go to your garden and wait there first. Summer is almost over, and I want to see what flowers you have left."

"Alright, then go and tell the kitchen to cook the crabs. I'll take the princess to the east garden first, and we'll have lunch there today."

"Yes," the butler replied with his head bowed, and then hurried over.

Before long, the three arrived at the garden. There was a small gate woven from bamboo. Entering the garden, there was a cobblestone path with evergreen bamboo on both sides. Turning left further ahead, there was a small bamboo and wood bridge. Under the bridge was a clear stream, in which tiny goldfish were swimming.

The stream was lined with lush green grass, dotted with tiny white and golden chrysanthemums. The grass was neat and tidy, clearly well-maintained.

Su Lixia and her servant followed Lin Ziwen's footsteps slowly, their eyes constantly scanning the surrounding scenery, and they occasionally made "wow" sounds.

Lin Ziwen walked ahead, a slight smile playing on his lips. It seemed that coming here was the right decision.

Walking along the cobblestone path to the pavilion, behind which is a lake. On the lake surface, there are only some lotus leaves and a few incredibly tenacious petals, all with yellow edges, slowly rotting.

"Sit down." Lin Ziwen sat down on the stone bench first.

After Su Lixia sat down, Lin Ziwen explained, "It's late summer now, and there aren't many flowers left. This garden is the only place worth visiting. If the princess doesn't mind, how about we eat here?"

"The scenery here is already very beautiful, so it would be perfect to eat here. But the place you've decorated is really exquisite. I'm curious how you did it. You have such great ideas."

Lin Ziwen picked up the fan at his waist, waved it open, and said, "Actually, it wasn't entirely my own idea. A friend of mine also planned it together, but he has already moved deep into the mountains and will never leave. The princess will never have the chance to see him."

Su Lixia nodded: "That's a real pity."

A short while later, the butler and servants came to deliver the meal, placing each dish on the table.

Su Lixia stared intently, but even after the butler had finished serving the entire box, there were still no crabs in sight.

Then the butler took the box from another person. When he opened it, a fresh and pleasant fragrance wafted out. Su Lixia looked closely and realized that it was a large crab that she hadn't seen in a long time, and it was a river crab with a lot of roe!

Su Lixia counted them; there were six in total. She rubbed her hands together excitedly.

Lian'er, who was standing to the side, was startled when she saw this and unconsciously took a step back.

"Young master, princess, the food is ready. Please enjoy your meal."

Lin Ziwen hummed in agreement, then gestured for them to leave.

After leading them away, Lin Ziwen pointed to the crab and gestured to Su Lixia, saying, "Princess, try this. This is a crab."

Su Lixia nodded and then picked one up and lifted the lid.

Lin Ziwen picked it up at the same time, and looked up as if to teach her how to eat it, but saw that she was already eating it with relish.

Xiao Lian grinned and squinted, her face filled with panic and horror.

"The princess would eat this?" Lin Ziwen asked in confusion.

Su Lixia shook her head: "No, I just thought its shell was hard and I probably couldn't eat it. Then I saw there was a crack in it, so I just broke it open and figured the white part inside was the meat. So I ate it, and it was really delicious!" As she spoke, Su Lixia took another bite.

Lin Ziwen nodded and added, "The yellow paste on the lid is also edible; the princess can try it."

Su Lixia originally wanted to make crab roe rice, but now that he said that, she could only pretend to make it.

He feigned surprise, exclaimed "Oh!" and picked up the lid brimming with crab roe, asking with a look of astonishment, "This thing looks weird, can you even eat it?"

Lin Ziwen handed her a specially made spoon: "Use this to scrape it out and put it on the rice. Let's try it together."

Su Lixia raised an eyebrow, scooped up a mouthful of rice and placed it on the lid, thinking to herself, "You know quite a lot, don't you?"

Seeing this, Lin Ziwen didn't say anything, as if it was the same as just leaving it as it was.

Su Lixia carefully mixed the rice, then gave it a thumbs up, but then quickly put it down again, remembering Yi Zexuan's words: "Sorry, I forgot that the thumbs up here means something different from what we have. This is so delicious! How did you discover that?"

A hint of sadness flashed in Lin Ziwen's eyes before he explained, "It was still that friend who discovered it. Only the two of us liked to eat it, and now the princess is joining us."
