Chapter 59 Revenge

"Even if they're arguing, it's their business, what does it have to do with you?"

In the original book, the people here lived a fairly good life.

"You have to be very careful with what you say, otherwise you'll never have peace. I'll let you in on a secret: if you say something you shouldn't, they might retaliate against you!"

Upon hearing this, Su Lixia was startled and asked, "Revenge? Why? How will you take revenge?"

"Anyway, don't gossip about the monarch, or you'll get your door splattered with excrement!"

"Pfft!" Su Lixia spat out a mouthful of tea: "Are you serious?"

"Of course!"

Su Lixia blinked, then looked at Xiaolian with disdain. Xiaolian also grinned, her double chin appearing on her face, completely unable to believe it.

"Then do you know the Regent?" Su Lixia asked again.

The shopkeeper snorted and said, "Everyone knows him, but you outsiders might not."

The shopkeeper cleared his throat and said, "More than half of the ministers support him as regent. What do you think his mission will be? Look at that road down there. The regent rides his horse through here every day. I've run this shop for almost ten years, and I know the regent better than anyone else."

After saying that, the shopkeeper patted his chest and said, "Fortunately, both the Prince and his young master Lin have come to our shop for tea."

"Cough cough!" Just as the shopkeeper finished speaking, several coughs were heard from next door.

Su Lixia frowned and said softly, "But the soundproofing here doesn't seem to be very good."

The shopkeeper's lips twitched, he gave an awkward laugh, and stood up, saying, "If there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

"Okay."

As soon as Su Lixia uttered the word "good," the shopkeeper scurried away.

Xiao Lian walked over and squatted down, asking, "Princess, they're so scary!"

"Silly child, no matter how scary it is, it has nothing to do with us. We'll just stay here for a year and that'll be fine."

Xiao Lian nodded and asked again, "Is the princess hungry?"

Are you hungry?

Xiaolian chuckled and explained, "I only ate one meal this morning, and I haven't eaten lunch yet."

Su Lixia nodded and said, "Then let's have some snacks to tide us over first, and then we can go somewhere else to eat later."

"good."

So, Su Lixia ordered two servings of pastries, sat by the window drinking tea, while Xiao Lian ate them while lying on the table.

"She probably doesn't know that the Prince will be arriving soon," the young guard asked.

Lin Ziwen shrugged and said, "I didn't expect her to be so curious about the prince."

"She's the future princess, after all, so isn't that only natural?"

Lin Ziwen stopped talking about it and changed the subject, saying, "By the way, why didn't you go to the palace with him?"

"Your Highness only has a few handover matters to attend to, nothing else, so I didn't go. Wouldn't it be more enjoyable to just come along and have a cup of tea with you?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Ziwen shrugged and laughed, "You really are the most well-fed bodyguard I've ever seen."

"He's probably the most useless guard too." The little guard sighed, somewhat disappointed, as he rested his chin on his hand.

"Come on, don't try that on me. I know you too well."

The young guard chuckled and said, "Young Master Lin understands me best."

"Judging from the scene down here, it seems your prince is about to arrive." Lin Ziwen sat by the window, watching the vendors below move their goods inside.

"It's so early, why are they already packing up?" Su Lixia peered out the window, watching them pack up, and couldn't help but feel curious.

Xiaolian chewed on her snack, muttering, "Maybe it's different from our local customs."
