Chapter Thirty-Seven: The Restaurant

Li Xiaoxiao walked around to the man's side, just about to see what the strange thing was.

This is quite something! It's a crab! This is a rare delicacy, and these things are overflowing in the fields?

The man was fiddling with the crab's large claws, finding it quite amusing.

"Good heavens, it's crab! This is a rare delicacy. You should quickly find someone to buy these crabs, two for one coin."

Li Xiaoxiao became excited. This was a huge business opportunity. She jumped up and down on the ground barefoot.

The man was quite helpless. He tied up the crabs, carried the woman to the bed, and said, "It's cold. Why are you jumping around barefoot on the floor? I guess I'll have to buy you a book on the Three Obediences and Four Virtues so you can study it properly."

But the woman nestled in her arms, extremely anxious, saying, "I can't afford to delay, I have to make a lot of money."

He held down her restless hands, then picked up the clothes by the bed and dressed her piece by piece. "Yes, yes, my little darling, can you get dressed first? There are so many people in this yard, there will be plenty of people to help you catch her, so don't worry."

After Li Xiaoxiao put on her robes and Qi Yu helped her tie her hair, she rushed out the door and found Green Snake and Chen Xueqing.

The two were processing paper. When they heard Li Xiaoxiao shout, they calmly continued working on the paper. After all, the first batch of paper would be completed in three days, and the work was the priority.

"Ah, you're all busy. Oh, right, I just remembered. I can ask Widow Dong for help. I need those crabs; they'll make a delicious meal for you tonight."

Green Snake put down his work and walked helplessly to Li Xiaoxiao. "Little ancestor, don't bother us. If you want to go find her, go ahead. Widow Dong is a free person, but we are not."

Li Xiaoxiao was pushed out of the workshop, muttering to herself. Qi Yu, however, offered advice from the side, "It's simple to handle this matter well. I'll call some people for you. My wife asked me to help you with it."

That's how Qi Yu settled the matter. She took out one hundred taels of silver and gave it to Qi Yu, and the man left in a hurry.

After thinking about it, Li Xiaoxiao decided to strike while the iron was hot and finalize the shop deal first.

After whispering a few words to Bai Yi, Bai Yi headed towards Widow Dong's house.

In the afternoon, she would send the crabs she caught to the shop to reduce costs. Thinking this, she headed towards the oxcart. Fortunately, Uncle Luo hadn't left yet, and Qi Yu was still on the oxcart. Li Xiaoxiao quickly rushed over, "Husband, let's go see the shop together first. After that, we'll find some people to catch crabs. This business is similar to the fish ball business last time; it's only suitable for a short-term business. For now, it's more appropriate to find a shop first."

Hearing this, Uncle Luo chimed in with concern, "Madam Li, if you're talking about this shop, I recognize it. It belongs to the Gu family in Yunli County. It's in a good location. Their son went to a gambling den and incurred a debt of five hundred taels of silver. With the interest compounding, it has now accumulated to a thousand taels of silver. This is the only shop the Gu family owns, and now that it's been ruined, they're urgently looking for a buyer. I heard that his leg was broken in half. He's a pitiful man."

"Alright, Uncle, could you please see the Gu family off?"

Two or three people arrived. When Uncle Luo saw that there was really no one else, he started the oxcart forward while talking. He was now very satisfied with Li Xiaoxiao. His grandson was still working for the Li family. This year had been alright.

The two arrived at the Gu family's shop, which was marked for transfer, but only the operating rights were being transferred, not the land deed. As a result, many shopkeepers gave up on the idea.

The shop is a noodle shop, and there is an inn above it.

Seeing Li Xiaoxiao stop the oxcart here, Gu Lan just lazily leaned on the counter with his eyelids drooping and asked casually, "Sir, what would you like to eat?"
