Chapter Twenty-Four: The Fierce Wife's Reputation Revealed

Li Xiaoxiao walked among the women. "I really can't do anything with you. Run to the back, Green Snake, come with me." Green Snake, who was called out, smiled happily. "Yes, Master." Then she took out a pouch from her bosom.

Upon hearing this, the women immediately ran towards the back of the mountain. Chen Xueqing and five others stood beside Li Xiaoxiao, holding short knives. "Benefactor, we stand with you through thick and thin."

Green Snake took out a bottle of pills and gave it to Li Xiaoxiao, "Master, this is the antidote. Remember to take it later. It will be difficult for so many people to survive without medicine."

Without any hesitation, Li Xiaoxiao swallowed the pills, and the women beside her also took them after receiving them.

Green Snake's smile deepened; she was actually quite happy. These women trusted her completely, even though they often mocked her for her ugly appearance. Yet, they still trusted her when it mattered.

This feeling made her happier than those dark memories from many years ago.

The bandits shouted, "Don't let those women go! Don't let them go! Catch them and teach these wicked women a lesson!" The men's shouts echoed throughout the valley, growing ever closer.

"Grab these young women and take them back to pamper them."

About forty or fifty people arrived, while the remaining thirty or so continued packing their things in the camp. Green Snake strode forward, and in a flash, his entire figure disappeared. Countless plumes of black, pungent smoke began to spread, and the firelight in the camp gradually dimmed.

"Oh no, it's Green Snake! Everyone, cover your mouths and noses!" Every man knew Green Snake. Even in the bandit's den, no one dared to provoke her. Any man who did would die mysteriously.

However, the green snake wouldn't give them time to react. As the smoke dissipated, the men who inhaled it immediately felt dizzy and lightheaded. They were already disoriented from escaping the fire, and the smoke made them even more sober, causing their eyes to ache and become unable to open.

The timing was perfect. Li Xiaoxiao rushed into the crowd, and Green Snake was not to be outdone, so she rushed in as well. Seeing that the two of them had rushed in, Chen Xueqing and her four sisters rushed in together and wrestled with the group of men.

Li Xiaoxiao took the lead, taking on five or six men single-handedly and kicking them all down with a few kicks. Her movements were ghostly, and the thieves couldn't catch her. On the other hand, the women who were grouped together in groups of three were gradually losing ground against the tough bandits. Chen Xueqing was consumed by hatred that night. Holding a knife, she had already stabbed three men in the chest in succession. Her technique was fast, accurate, and ruthless. Half an hour later, only a dozen or so bandits were still standing on the ground.

However, those women had never done anything like this before, and soon their strength was exhausted. One of the women, dressed in white, did not notice what was behind her and was stabbed in the heart by the bandit A Chong.

"Ping'er!!" Chen Xueqing screamed in anguish. The remaining three women were also filled with hatred, despair, and hopelessness. On this mountain where no one could control them, Shi Yuanping was the first woman to lead them in helping each other. She had shielded them from many disasters, even when they were forced to perform erotic dances in broad daylight. It was Shi Yuanping who stopped them. When they were locked in cages and left naked because they hadn't served the men well, it was Shi Yuanping who secretly brought them food at night.

The sisters burst into tears on the spot. Chen Xueqing hugged Shi Yuanping, who had been stabbed in the heart, and cried out, "Ping'er!!!" Li Xiaoxiao's eyes turned cold. Originally, she had no intention of killing anyone; at most, she just wanted to teach these bandits a lesson.

She picked up the longsword she had stepped on, flicked her wrist, and the sword began to reflect light. Li Xiaoxiao's aura began to change. Having been in the Northern Wei Kingdom for nearly two months, she had been cutting down trees and hunting wild boars, and her body was no longer as weak as it had been when she first transmigrated.

At this moment, an infinite killing intent spread. In the firelight, the bandits seemed to see the god of death descending. "From now on, anyone who looks more than ten steps ahead of me, I will kill them."

The bandits, refusing to believe it, charged forward. A dozen men rushed over. Although their eyes were blurred by the poison, they could still see the woman in front of them and hear her arrogant words. After all, they were thieves.

Can an assassin be a coward?

A group of people rushed over, and Li Xiaoxiao killed them one by one. One by one, they fell in front of her. The air was filled with the smell of blood, and countless drops of blood splattered on her body, staining her clothes red. Chen Xueqing, who was behind her, watched this scene with shock in her eyes. The person in front of her was possessed by a god of death. At this moment, hope and luck had descended.

As the bandits fell one by one, Chen Xueqing's tears fell. These people were the source of her hatred, her pain, and all her misfortunes, and they were being eliminated little by little.

After eighteen men had died, the bandits finally became fearful and stopped advancing. Before them stood a god, whom they could not defeat; any further advance would only lead to their deaths.

Li Xiaoxiao stepped over the corpses, walking step by step, and asked coldly, "Who else wants to die?"

The thieves started running frantically in the opposite direction. When Chen Xueqing saw the group leave, she collapsed to her knees, hugging Shi Yuanping's body and crying uncontrollably.

"Let's go, let's get out of here."

Li Xiaoxiao stepped back. She was exhausted from dealing with more than twenty people by herself and needed to leave as soon as possible.

The other three hurriedly carried Chen Xueqing and Shi Yuanping's bodies and retreated to the back. Green Snake followed Li Xiaoxiao the whole time. After about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the sound of a group of people going up the mountain came from the path behind the mountain.

This group of villagers, who had organized themselves, led more than forty officials up the back mountain. When they arrived, they found that the bandits had started fighting, and the scene was chaotic with smoke and fire everywhere.

With only about fifty people left on the scene, officials and villagers seized the opportunity to join the battle, and the scene immediately became very chaotic. However, the thieves were already in disarray and leaderless, so they were quickly suppressed by the officials and villagers, who tied them up one by one.

Just as Li Xiaoxiao was about to leave, she found herself feeling weak and staggered. But someone caught her, and the familiar scent of soap pods filled her nostrils. A gentle voice came from behind her, "My wife hasn't returned for two days. I was very worried, so I came to find you."

Before Li Xiaoxiao could react, Qi Yu picked her up in a princess carry. "My wife is tired, let's go back." Li Xiaoxiao rolled into the man's arms and leaned against him. The two left the mountains of Yunli County together, away from the hustle and bustle not far away.

The women followed Qi Yu down the mountain, where Uncle Luo's oxcart was waiting for them. Li Xiaoxiao, feeling tired, closed her eyes for a short rest.

As Uncle Luo pulled them along, he sighed, "It's such a pity that Li Xiaoxiao is a woman. She went to the mountain stronghold alone, burned it down, and even managed to escape unscathed. If she were a man, she would definitely be hailed as a hero. It's a shame that there's only one fierce woman. Women have never been the dominant force."

Green Snake sat on the oxcart, his eyes somewhat dazed, his mind replaying the ruthlessness and swiftness of Li Xiaoxiao's killings. In the end, he shook his head.

It's a pity she's a woman.

The other surviving women on the oxcart were still crying, grieving their ordeal. Chen Xueqing looked at Qi Yu and asked a question that seemed to come out of nowhere.

"How did you manage to get the officials to come up the mountain?"
