I dreamt that I wasn't from this world.

I dreamt that I wasn't from this world.

The first day of school finally arrived. Jiang Jingshu arrived at school early and sat motionless in her seat.

She hadn't slept a wink all night; the sudden surge of emotion had disrupted her normal routine. Jiang Yuzhou was the second to enter the classroom. Seeing that Jiang Jingshu was already sitting in her seat, he walked over to her and said, "You're here so early!"

Jiang Jingshu nodded. "I got up early today."

"Didn't you sleep well last night? You have dark circles under your eyes." Jiang Jingshu lied expressionlessly. "I stayed up late reading a novel last night, and the plot was so exciting that I couldn't fall asleep."

Jiang Yuzhou nodded and returned to his seat.

Having not slept all night, Jiang Jingshu's eyelids began to droop, and she eventually couldn't stay awake any longer and fell asleep on the table.

When she woke up, the first class had already started. Jiang Jingshu found a bag on the table and quietly opened it.

Inside the bag was a drawing, a note with Hello Kitty on it, and a small pink bag.

Jiang Jingshu opened the note, and the familiar handwriting came into view: "Expenses for this trip."

Then, she picked up the pink bag and was startled when she saw what was inside.

Her gaze shifted to Xie Zhijin, unaware that Xie Zhijin was looking at her.

She looked away again, and there was two thousand yuan inside.

She secretly took her phone out of the drawer and quietly sent a message to Xie Zhijin. "What are you doing?"

Xie: Listen carefully to the lesson, we'll talk after class.

Ginger ginger ginger ginger: ?

There was no further response to the message. Jiang Jingshu then took the painting out of the bag again, and she was stunned.

She never expected that Xie Zhijin would draw the scene of Jiang Jingshu blocking his way in the hotel that day.

Several beams of light were drawn behind Jiang Jingshu.

Jiang Jingshu put the painting in her drawer, her mind a complete mess. It wasn't until get out of class ended that she went to Xie Zhijin's seat and asked, "Xie Zhijin, why did you give me so many?"

"Jiang Jingshu, isn't it only right for me to pocket the money?" Xie Zhijin looked at her with a smile. "You don't think I'm broke, do you?"

“Didn’t you earn your own money?” Jiang Jingshu put her wallet on Xie Zhijin’s table. “I was the one who asked you to come with me, so I should pay for it. Besides, I won a prize in the competition, so I have money.”

"I really do have money." Xie Zhijin stared at Jiang Jingshu with a smile on his face. "How about this, come find me after school today, and I'll prove it to you."

"Xie Zhijin, don't feel embarrassed." Jiang Jingshu seemed to think Xie Zhijin was being stubborn. Xie Zhijin knew he couldn't give her the money, so he could only say, "How about this, after school today, I'll show you my job, then you'll believe me."

So after school, Jiang Jingshu followed Xie Zhijin to the park.

"Your part-time job is in a park?" Jiang Jingshu asked incredulously.

"Actually, I've been hiding it from you all along." Xie Zhijin sat on the bench, looking at Jiang Jingshu with some embarrassment. "Actually, I'm Tongtiandai."

Jiang Jingshu: ?

Xie Zhijin explained it to her; it was basically about helping others rank up in games, like playing with them.

"So you don't need to worry about me not having money. I'm pretty good at games, and I have a lot of orders. I really do have money."

Jiang Jingshu still didn't believe that playing games could earn so much money. She looked at Xie Zhijin and asked, "Can I watch one of your games?"

The rules of the game are simple: there are two camps, humans and ghosts. If humans can escape the ghosts' pursuit, they win; if the ghosts can capture more than half of the humans, they win.

This game is an asymmetrical competitive game.

Xie Zhijin is skilled at playing both the human and ghost factions, and he has top-notch skills in both. Jiang Jingshu watched him play a game and he was able to catch everyone within five minutes.

Although Jiang Jingshu didn't quite understand, she still exclaimed, "You're amazing! You caught them all in no time!"

A smile appeared on Xie Zhijin's face.

"But can this really make a lot of money?" Jiang Jingshu was still skeptical, but seeing that Xie Zhijin didn't say anything more, she chose not to ask.

In the end, she accepted the money Xie Zhijin gave her.

When Xie Zhijin offered to take Jiang Jingshu home, Jiang Jingshu decisively shook her head and refused.

In the past two months, Jiang Jingshu has participated in many painting competitions and spends her weekends obediently at home waiting for Zheng Xi's tutoring.

She deliberately reduced her contact with Xie Zhijin and also reduced her contact with Su Xiaoyue.

She was afraid that when she went back, she would be reluctant to leave.

These past few days, she has received many messages from Su Xiaoyue and Xie Zhijin, but she has not replied to any of them.

But she didn't expect to receive a message from Wen Jinyan.

Wen Jinyan asked her if she had a conflict with Su Xiaoyue, as Su Xiaoyue seemed very depressed every day.

Jiang Jingshu stared at the message for a long time, then asked the system, "Isn't this wrong?"

The system told her, "Your Highness, although you will eventually return to that time, you are currently in this world. Perhaps you should learn to face your feelings."

However, Jiang Jingshu seemed to be stuck on a rut. She shook her head and said, "I'll leave here sooner or later. Rather than suffer when I leave, I'd rather do it now and cut the Gordian knot. Otherwise, the longer I stay with them, the more painful it will be when I leave."

The system didn't say much, only telling Jiang Jingshu, "I will always be with you."

One day after school, when Jiang Jingshu was packing her things to go home, Su Xiaoyue stopped her at the classroom door and said, "Jiang Jingshu, you're acting strangely."

Jiang Jingshu was a little flustered. "I'm sorry, I have something to do today."

"Are you always busy? I ask you to go to the bathroom and you won't come with me. I ask you to have dinner with me and you say you're on a diet. Jiang Jingshu, aren't you afraid I'll hang out with someone else?"

Su Xiaoyue stood in front of Jiang Jingshu, wanting Jiang Jingshu to give her an answer and let her know why she was being estranged.

But Jiang Jingshu couldn't find a reasonable reason to say it. She couldn't possibly tell Su Xiaoyue that she wasn't from this world and that she would one day return to the world from a thousand years ago.

She realized that she had become inextricably linked with Su Xiaoyue and Xie Zhijin. This was not a good thing for her.

She would be sad if she suddenly disappeared one day, and Su Xiaoyue and Xie Zhijin would also be sad.

"I'm sorry, Xiaoyue, you should find someone else to play with."

Jiang Jingshu lowered her head, feeling fear for the first time. She didn't dare to look up at Su Xiaoyue, only daring to look at her toes, like a child who had done something wrong.

"Jiang Jingshu, aren't you going to give me a reason?" Su Xiaoyue took out one drawing after another that Jiang Jingshu had drawn for her from her schoolbag. "You're acting like a scumbag who's deceiving other people's feelings."

“I’m transferring schools,” Jiang Jingshu suddenly said. “I really can’t bear to leave you. I’m afraid I’ll never see you again, and I’m afraid I’ll miss you terribly.”

Su Xiaoyue seemed surprised by this answer. "You're transferring schools? Where are you transferring to?"

Su Xiaoyue's voice was neither too loud nor too soft, but it reached Xie Zhijin's ears.

“It’s quite far,” Jiang Jingshu said slowly. “It’s in City A. It’s a closed training camp for art exams. I’m leaving next month.”

In fact, Jiang Jingshu had not made this decision. She was reluctant to give up everything here, but she was destined to be alone, so she could not ask for too much.

Perhaps after she leaves, Su Xiaoyue will make new friends, eat with new friends, and go to the bathroom with new friends. Xie Zhijin won't have to take a detour to take her home every day.

Maybe by the time she's in training, Agave will have grown up, and she'll be able to return to ancient times soon.

Jiang Jingshu thought to herself.

"Did I do anything to upset you? Did you only distance yourself from me because of training camp?" Su Xiaoyue sighed. "Jiang Jiang, you scared me to death."

Su Xiaoyue hugged Jiang Jingshu tightly, her voice trembling with tears, "You know what? You haven't spoken to me for the past two days. I thought you were going to break up with me. I was so scared. I've been thinking about what went wrong between us these past few days. Is it because of my childish temper that you don't want to play with me anymore? I'm so scared, Jiang Jiang."

Jiang Jingshu gently patted Su Xiaoyue's back. She was somewhat moved and wanted to tell Su Xiaoyue everything, but she held back.

Such a fantastical statement would not be believed by anyone.

However, seeing Su Xiaoyue crying like this just because she hadn't played with her for the past few days, she didn't want to keep her in the dark.

"Xiaoyue, what if I disappear one day?"

Jiang Jingshu couldn't help but ask.

“We will all disappear,” Su Xiaoyue said.

"What if you find out that I'm not the person you initially thought I was?"

Jiang Jingshu finally asked the question that had been weighing on her mind for a long time. Even though the original Jiang Jingshu in this world had already died when she transmigrated and would never return, she still cared a lot.

"Jiang Jingshu, there's something behind your words." Su Xiaoyue released Jiang Jingshu and looked at her. "So, you were hiding something from me, weren't you?"

Jiang Jingshu's nails dug into her palms, but she still didn't dare to look Su Xiaoyue in the eye.

This relationship felt like something she had stolen; her friendship with Su Xiaoyue was something she, as a third party, had stolen from Jiang Jingshu.

However, after spending so much time together, Jiang Jingshu had already come to regard Su Xiaoyue as her most important friend. Jiang Jingshu still didn't want to hide these things from her, so she invited Su Xiaoyue to a coffee shop.

"Jiang Jiang, what's wrong with you?" Su Xiaoyue looked at her with great concern. Her intuition told her that Jiang Jingshu's mentality had been very strange lately.

"I've been having the same dream for the past two days." Jiang Jingshu's hand repeatedly touched the coffee cup.

"Jiang Jiang, aren't you allergic to coffee?" Su Xiaoyue snatched the coffee from Jiang Jingshu's hand and handed her a glass of milk. "You've been acting really strange lately."

Jiang Jingshu had completely forgotten about her coffee allergy. She took the milk that Su Xiaoyue handed her and said, "I keep having dreams lately that I'm not from this world."

“Your dream is so interesting. If you’re not from this world, then what world are you from?” Su Xiaoyue took a sip of coffee and looked at Jiang Jingshu.

“That person always tells me that I will return to ancient times sooner or later.” Jiang Jingshu said, while observing Su Xiaoyue’s expression. Seeing that Su Xiaoyue was holding her coffee cup and trying not to laugh, Jiang Jingshu knew that she was just taking it as a joke.

"I'm quite scared because I've had this dream for several days in a row. I'm afraid that one day I will suddenly disappear, and I will be very sad and reluctant to leave you. That's why I'm restraining myself and trying to talk to you less, so that I won't be too sad when I leave." Despite this, Jiang Jingshu still expressed this matter in another way. When she got to the point of being deeply moved, tears fell drop by drop.

After all, it was a secret that had been buried deep in her heart for over a year, making it hard for her to breathe.

Su Xiaoyue initially didn't believe what Jiang Jingshu said, but seeing how serious Jiang Jingshu's tone and expression were, and even how she shed tears in the end, Su Xiaoyue couldn't help but become serious as well. She quickly got up from her seat, walked to Jiang Jingshu's side, and gently patted Jiang Jingshu's back.

"So that's the real reason you're ignoring me." Su Xiaoyue patted her back gently as she spoke, "Jiang Jiang, have you been under a lot of pressure lately?"

Jiang Jingshu was still sobbing softly, "That dream felt so real, so real that I felt like I was that princess from ancient times. I was so scared. Xiaoyue, will you believe me?"

Su Xiaoyue nodded and solemnly told Jiang Jingshu, "I believe you, Jiang Jiang. Don't be afraid. Even if it's true, there's nothing to be afraid of. Besides, it's just a dream. How about I come to your house to sleep for the next few days? Then you won't have to worry about suddenly disappearing."

Su Xiaoyue rambled on and on, and Jiang Jingshu nodded, "It's good that you're willing to believe it."
