The standard is you
When Xie Zhijin reappeared in front of Jiang Jingshu, he brought a bouquet of flowers.
Jiang Jingshu was a little surprised, "Why another bouquet? Didn't you give me one yesterday?"
"Let's be more formal," Xie Zhijin said slowly.
"What?"
Jiang Jingshu didn't quite understand Xie Zhijin's words, only hearing him say, "A confession can't be without flowers."
Confess your feelings?
Jiang Jingshu blankly accepted the bouquet, her mind seemingly still reeling. She said, "Xie Zhijin, are you going to confess your feelings to me?"
"Jiang Jingshu, I like you, please be with me."
The words of confession were powerful and resounding, striking Jiang Jingshu's heart. Jiang Jingshu raised her head, seemingly accepting the boy's passionate love.
"Yes, me too."
Jiang Jingshu wondered how she could have so hastily established a relationship when she hadn't even told Xie Zhijin her story yet.
But she was too greedy and couldn't bear to hide it from him. She said to him, "Xie Zhijin, I'll give you a chance to regret it. Wait until I finish telling you those stories, and then you can make up your mind."
However, the boy nodded firmly and said, "I won't go back on my word."
Since he has chosen to express his love, he will never regret it.
Xie Zhijin never regrets any of the choices he has made.
Therefore, once he has made up his mind about someone, he will never regret it.
The two arrived at the roller coaster again. Jiang Jingshu suddenly remembered that when she first came here, she was feeling down because she felt no sense of belonging to this world. She was walking downstairs in her apartment complex, lost in thought, and her emotions were easily read by the person in front of her.
That was the first time someone had seen the emotions hidden beneath her surface.
She was brought here by Xie Zhijin.
“Jiang Jingshu, do you remember the couple in front of us when we first came here?” Xie Zhijin suddenly asked.
Jiang Jingshu nodded. Of course she remembered that the couple was in front of them in line, and the girl was teasing them, saying confidently that they would definitely end up together.
However, it seems that the girl was right.
They will definitely be together.
It's just not the final ending.
Thinking of this, Jiang Jingshu's eyes darkened again.
"Jiang Jingshu, what are your criteria for choosing a boyfriend?"
Her memory seemed to pull her back to that summer, and Jiang Jingshu subconsciously asked, "What?"
Xie Zhijin gently tapped Jiang Jingshu's forehead. "Don't you remember?" He then smiled indulgently. "That girl said that her standard for choosing a boyfriend was that he couldn't be timid."
Jiang Jingshu nodded, as if there was indeed such a thing.
So what are your standards?
Jiang Jingshu lowered her head and thought for a moment, then stretched out her slender finger and gently pointed at Xie Zhijin.
Xie Zhijin raised an eyebrow. "Me?"
Jiang Jingshu nodded firmly.
She didn't know how to summarize her own standards.
If she likes kind people who are willing to help her, then she doesn't like Zhou Mingyuan.
If she liked people who were good at studying and tall, then he didn't fall for Sun Huai.
If she likes someone who prepares flowers and surprises for her anytime, anywhere, someone who can easily sense her emotions, someone who is willing to travel thousands of miles for her, and someone who would fight for her, then if that person is not Xie Zhijin, she will not fall in love with him.
So what are her criteria for choosing a boyfriend?
What do these elements she listed in her mind have in common?
Jiang Jingshu understood. These prerequisites were not important at all; what mattered was the person.
She won't easily fall for a kind and upright person.
She even dislikes people who are insecure and always give in.
But if these adjectives describe Xie Zhijin, she will like them.
She likes Xie Zhijin, but Xie Zhijin possesses these qualities.
She disliked people who were self-deprecating and yielding, but she liked Xie Zhijin, who possessed these qualities.
So she thought a lot and finally figured out what her criteria for choosing a boyfriend were.
So she repeated to Xie Zhijin with even greater certainty, "Xie Zhijin, you are my standard."
Xie Zhijin stared at Jiang Jingshu's face, her eyes full of certainty. She said, "Xie Zhijin, you are the standard."
"I will fall in love with you as long as you are in front of me."
"Jiang Jingshu, I've never been in a relationship, I don't know how to love someone." Xie Zhijin felt flustered for the first time, and he put his hands behind his back again.
“Xie Zhijin, me too.” Jiang Jingshu pulled Xie Zhijin’s hand from behind his back and said to him, “Come with me to ride the Ferris wheel, I have something to tell you.”
—
On the Ferris wheel, Jiang Jingshu and Xie Zhijin sat facing each other. This was the second time they had been in this small space together, and she felt a nervousness she had never experienced before.
"Xie Zhijin," Jiang Jingshu called his name softly.
The second time they sat in the same place, their relationship was different.
Jiang Jingshu silently wondered, are they lovers now? What should lovers do in a Ferris wheel? Kiss?
Jiang Jingshu looked at Xie Zhijin across from her and asked herself whether to confess first or kiss first.
When Xie Zhijin heard Jiang Jingshu call his name, he returned the greeting softly, "Jiang Jingshu."
Jiang Jingshu seemed to have made up her mind. She stood up and slowly walked towards Xie Zhijin, her heart seemingly cheering her on again and again.
She suddenly bent down and moved closer to Xie Zhijin.
Xie Zhijin suddenly froze, the moment he accurately felt the touch coming from his lips.
Jiang Jingshu kissed Xie Zhijin's lips.
Surrounded by the scent of jasmine, Jiang Jingshu released her grip after only a fleeting touch.
The atmosphere between the two suddenly became ambiguous, and Xie Zhijin was still staring at Jiang Jingshu, at a loss.
Jiang Jingshu then realized that she had kissed Xie Zhijin.
"Jiang Jingshu, you..." Before Xie Zhijin could finish speaking, Jiang Jingshu gently covered Xie Zhijin's mouth with her hand, "I'm sorry, please listen to me first."
Xie Zhijin sat down quietly, and only then did Jiang Jingshu utter that rather shocking statement.
She said, "Xie Zhijin, do you believe me? I am not from this world."
She seemed to be waiting for Xie Zhijin's answer, but she interrupted her the moment Xie Zhijin opened her mouth, "I was originally the seventh princess of Yongning Kingdom. That was more than two thousand years ago. I accidentally fell into the water in the Imperial Garden, and when I opened my eyes again, I was here."
"The first person I met here after my first time traveling through time was you." She gently pointed to Xie Zhijin.
"The time I brought you your homework?" Xie Zhijin asked.
Jiang Jingshu nodded. "Yes, the time you brought me my homework, you even gave me your only umbrella. That was the first time I felt kindness here, and it was because of you."
Her gaze seemed to soften. "After that, I lived in this world, met you, met Xiaoyue and Wen Jinyan, met many people, and I fell in love with you, Xie Zhijin."
Xie Zhijin was still processing Jiang Jingshu's words when he gently took her hand. Jiang Jingshu continued, "I came to this world with a mission. I need to plant agave, make it bloom and bear fruit, and then I can return to Yongning Kingdom."
"I distanced myself from you during that time because I didn't know when I would return to Yongning Kingdom. I was afraid that a sudden departure would hurt both of us, so I left here and went to City A. That's why I kept asking you which was more important, the process or the ending."
The secrets that had been building up in her heart were suddenly laid bare before Xie Zhijin. Jiang Jingshu said, "I can't not go back, so we're destined to have no future together, but I like you." Jiang Jingshu looked up at Xie Zhijin, "That's why I'm telling you, I'm giving you time to regret it, if you—"
Jiang Jingshu didn't finish her sentence before Xie Zhijin's sudden kiss choked her.
Jiang Jingshu's legs felt weak, and she awkwardly responded to Xie Zhijin's kiss, knowing what it meant.
This kiss represents trust, tenderness, and no regrets.
The kiss was intense, and Jiang Jingshu felt increasingly dizzy, as if her brain was lacking oxygen, yet she continued to respond to him, their lips touching.
Jiang Jingshu closed her eyes and thought, "So this is what Xie Zhijin's lips feel like."
The coolness, as if possessing a magical power, calmed her heart.
Their faces were flushed from the kiss, but Xie Zhijin held Jiang Jingshu's hand and asked, "Jiang Jingshu, do you understand?"
Jiang Jingshu was still feeling dizzy. "I understand."
Looking at Jiang Jingshu's current state, Xie Zhijin couldn't help but smile. He repeated, "Jiang Jingshu, I believe what you said."
Jiang Jingshu, however, came to her senses. "Xie Zhijin, do you really believe it? Such shocking statements, you really believe them?"
Xie Zhijin held onto Jiang Jingshu's hand tightly and said to her, "I know you've changed a bit. When I first met you, I sensed that you were different from others. I even teased you back then, asking if you'd been reading too many ancient-style novels."
Jiang Jingshu smiled. "You still remember."
"So that's why you're so afraid of water?" Xie Zhijin asked Jiang Jingshu.
Jiang Jingshu nodded. It was on his birthday that she knew Xie Zhijin was still blaming himself. She said, "It's not your fault."
"Jiang Jingshu, how far have you progressed with your agave?" Xie Zhijin asked her.
Jiang Jingshu told him about the current situation of the agave, and then asked him, "If one day the agave blooms and I return to ancient times, what will you do?"
"Found you."
Jiang Jingshu only received these three words in response, but that was enough: "How did you find me? Xie Zhijin, not everyone can travel through time."
"I will do anything to find you." Xie Zhijin told Jiang Jingshu with the same firmness. If Jiang Jingshu was still anxious about the day she would leave, then Xie Zhijin would keep telling her that he would definitely find her.
There are tunnels between time and space. Since Jiang Jingshu was able to come here from the world two thousand years ago, he can certainly go back to two thousand years ago from here as well.
He said, "Jiang Jingshu, promise me that you will enjoy this time here. If you really leave in the end, please believe me, I will definitely find you."
He will find her, no matter where she is, in any time or space.
“When the time comes, I will reach out my hand to you, just like this.” Xie Zhijin said, extending his hand to Jiang Jingshu. “I believe that everything in the vast universe has a cause and effect. I am even more convinced that falling in love with you is an unavoidable cause, and finding you is definitely the destined result.”
"Jiang Jingshu, you are a princess from more than two thousand years ago who traveled through time to love me, and I also happened to fall in love with you. Isn't this destiny?"
Jiang Jingshu listened blankly to Xie Zhijin's words. Xie Zhijin spoke again, saying, "Since it's fate, I'm not afraid of your departure, because I know that fate will bring us together again."
So don't be afraid to leave, don't be afraid of separation.
Live in the present moment, in this instant.
Let us live without regrets.
What happens next, we'll leave that to the future.
Jiang Jingshu nodded heavily, her eyes slightly red, and said to Xie Zhijin, "The Ferris wheel has reached its highest point."
Xie Zhijin took out his phone and said to Jiang Jingshu, "Can we take a picture, Jiang Jingshu?"
"What?" Although Jiang Jingshu did not understand Xie Zhijin's actions, she still obediently went over. The photo was taken the moment the Ferris wheel reached its highest point.
He said, "Happy first day of dating, girlfriend."
