Chapter 6 The monster is coming! Run away!

After Yanhe left, Aunt Mei quickly took Jiang Li back home.

The house they live in is a two-story tree house. It is clean and tidy inside, and the beds are made of vines.

Aunt Mei stuck her head out and looked around, making sure there was no one suspicious, then she closed the door woven with vines tightly.

"Aunt Mei, what's wrong?" Jiang Li looked at Aunt Mei's frowned brows and a face full of worry, and asked in confusion.

Aunt Mei's brows furrowed even deeper, then she pursed her lips and raised her hand to cover the door. A circle of light yellow halo emanated from her palm, directly enveloping the entire door.

Then, she put down her hands, turned around and said to Jiang Li earnestly, "Xiao Li, I'm going to the witch's house. You stay at home and don't open the door no matter who knocks. Do you understand?" Aunt Mei's tone was as if she was telling a young child to be wary of strangers.

Jiang Li smiled and nodded in agreement, "I understand Aunt Mei, I'm not a child anymore, don't worry too much."

Aunt Mei looked up and down at Jiang Li. Indeed, she had grown into a slender young lady, much taller than herself, and was no longer the little girl hiding behind her.

"We have to be more careful. Time waits for no one. Xiao Li, I'm going first."

After saying that, Aunt Mei transformed into a magpie and flew out of the tree house.

After Aunt Mei left, the tree house, which was already stuffy, seemed even more strange and depressing after it became quiet.

Jiang Li shuddered with fear. Before, she would never dare to enter such a house. But now, this is the safest place.

Jiang Li, who hadn't eaten for a day, suddenly felt hungry and his stomach rumbled.

The original owner hadn't eaten anything when she escaped, and after she traveled through time and space, she had experienced so many things, and now she was exhausted. She didn't want to think about anything now, she just wanted to have a good meal.

Jiang Li followed the original owner's memory, followed the vine up to the second floor, and came to the kitchen.

After searching in the kitchen, Jiang Li found that there was no food except a bunch of sticky and disgusting bugs.

The insects in the pot were still actively rolling their plump white bodies. After several mental preparations, Jiang Li still didn't dare to eat them, so he had to put them back.

Jiang Li was lying on the bed, weakly holding her growling stomach. She was now doubting her life.

Although traveling here gave her another chance to live again, wasn't there any normal food here? Did she have to eat a bunch of disgusting bugs?

Aunt Mei’s instructions seemed to still linger in her ears. She didn’t dare go out to look for food and had to wait for Aunt Mei to come back.

Just like that, Jiang Li lay on the bed and slowly fell asleep.

In the dream, Jiang Li saw that her belly was bulging, and there were two little babies inside, happily shouting, "Mom, Mom."

Jiang Li was slightly stunned. Is this his child?

The voice of doubt did not last long, and was covered by the maternal love flowing in the heart.

Just as Jiang Li reached out for his round belly and was about to touch it, the dream gradually cracked like a broken mirror.

Jiang Li suddenly woke up from her sleep. She subconsciously looked down at her stomach. Her stomach, which had been flat just now, seemed to be slightly bulging.

Only then did she realize that the dream she had just had was not an illusion, and the baby in her belly was indeed developing.

But before she could think more, her thoughts were shattered by a chaotic noise outside.

"Run! Run!"

"The monster is coming! Run away!"

The cries for mercy were accompanied by the roars of wild beasts and the sounds of breaking trees.

When Jiang Li heard these voices, his heart skipped a beat.

The sky, which was originally dusk, turned pitch black when she woke up, and Aunt Mei had not come back yet, which made Jiang Li even more uneasy.

The monsters here are all orcs who have gradually gone crazy in order to transform into human form. They enjoy eating the blood and bodies of orcs. They are sealed in the extremely cold and harsh East District of Mingyue.

Because the seal has gradually weakened and loosened over the years, magical beasts would come out to attack the tribe from time to time. The kings of the five major tribes would gather together and use spiritual power to consolidate the seal.

But she clearly remembered that only a month had passed since the seal was last consolidated. How come the monster escaped again?

The noise and cries for help outside were getting louder and louder. Jiang Li didn't have time to think about it and even forgot Aunt Mei's advice.

The only thing she wanted in her mind was to escape and hide somewhere safe.

Just as she opened the door and stepped out of the tree house, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her head. Gradually, her vision became blurred and her consciousness began to fade.

Jiang Li fell heavily to the ground. The person behind her put away the stick and walked gently to her side. Before Jiang Li could see the person's appearance clearly, she fainted.

On the other side, Grandma Ling was holding a magnifying glass in one hand and an ancient book in the other, looking up and down, studying the fertility stone.

Two hours had passed, and Grandma Ling still hadn't found anything, which made Aunt Mei, who was waiting nearby, very anxious.

"Ling Po, haven't you found out the reason yet?"

She stood up and paced back and forth anxiously in Ling Po Po's tree house.

"Amei, don't be anxious. Let me study this fertility stone slowly." Grandma Ling rubbed her eyes and continued to observe the fertility stone with a magnifying glass.

How could Aunt Mei not be anxious? She now wished that Grandma Ling would find out the problem with the birth stone right away, so as to prove Jiang Li's innocence and let her stay in the bird tribe without worries in the future.

Looking at her anxious look, Grandma Ling knew what she was thinking.

She sighed and shook her head gently, "Amei, I know what you are worried about."

Jiang Li had been bullied by the bird tribe since she was a child, and now she has finally transformed into a human form. Obviously, all she wanted was to pass the test of the fertility stone, find a considerate male to live with her, and live a stable life. But now...how could such a mistake happen?

Not to mention that it was contrary to her expectations, there was now the risk of being expelled from the bird tribe.

"Ling Po, since you know what I'm thinking, if it were you, would you not be anxious?"

Aunt Mei's words left Grandma Ling speechless.

"Amei, Princess He said to give me three days. Now I will try my best to find the problem of the fertility stone..."

As Grandma Ling was speaking, the magnifying glass in her hand unconsciously knocked against the fertility stone, making a crisp sound.

This sound really scared Aunt Mei and Grandma Ling.

"It's over, it's over!" Grandma Ling trembled with fear.

The fertility stone is a sacred object of the bird tribe. If it is damaged in any way, how can they explain to the king of the bird tribe?
