"Has the sun risen in the west? Su Yun'er actually fed the child a full meal?"
"What mischief is she up to now?"
"Are you going to sell the two kids?"
"It's not impossible. These days, there are plenty of people who sell their children because they can't make ends meet."
"These two children are only five years old!"
"Keep your voice down so the children don't hear. No, this crazy woman is up to something again. Take the two children to your and the eldest son's room. Even if Su Yun'er wants to come back and take the children, she won't be able to!"
That morning, Aunt Song and her eldest daughter-in-law kept a close watch on the house, fearing the arrival of Su Yun'er.
Around noon, there was finally some movement at the courtyard gate.
"Mother, I'm back."
It's Song Muqiang.
Aunt Song stopped mending her clothes: "Why are you only getting back now?"
Song Muqiang went to the city to sell firewood today.
"Is firewood hard to sell today?" Li Lan also came out after hearing the commotion. She took Song Muqiang's outer shirt and satchel from him and brushed the dirt off his body.
"They sell well. Apart from a few families who pre-ordered firewood, I sold out all the remaining firewood shortly after I arrived in town. It's getting cold, and people need to keep warm, so the consumption of firewood is high."
"Why are you back so late?"
"When I came back, I ran into Chen's daughter-in-law at the village entrance."
The daughter-in-law of the Chen family refers to Su Yun'er.
"Su Yun'er?" Song Da Niang and her daughter-in-law asked in unison.
"Yes." Song Muqiang recounted in detail how he saw Su Yun'er and took the mother and daughter-in-law to see a doctor.
"Uncle Mu, have my mother and grandmother returned?"
The saplings and grass were peering out the window, probably having overheard what had just been said.
"You're back. Your mother said she'd settle Grandma in first, then come pick you up," Song Muqiang chuckled.
The little grass and the little tree looked at each other, and then climbed off the kang (a heated brick bed): "Grandma Song, Auntie, Uncle Mu, we want to go back to see Grandma!"
Li Lan pulled Song Muqiang aside and told him about her and her mother-in-law's worries, fearing that Su Yun'er was going to sell the child.
Song Muqiang recalled Su Yun'er's condition today and shook his head: "I don't think so."
The couple then looked at Aunt Song.
Aunt Song sighed, "Forget it, it's their business, how much can we interfere? I just hope that Su Yun'er has really changed for the better."
The two children wanted to go home to see their grandmother, and the Song family couldn't force them to stay, so Song Muqiang took one child by the hand and carried the other to the Su family home.
Standing at the gate of the courtyard, Song Muqiang saw Su Yun'er in the courtyard, awkwardly lighting a small medicine stove.
As soon as Xiaoshu saw it, he immediately ran inside to help his mother.
"Brother Muqiang? I'm so sorry to have troubled you to bring the child back. Today has been such a hassle," Su Yun'er said.
"It's nothing, neighbors should help each other out."
Song Muqiang didn't linger. He exchanged a few polite words with Su Yun'er and then left.
After seeing Song Muqiang off, Xiaoshu had already lit the small medicine stove and was pouring the medicine packets she had brought back into the medicine pot to boil.
After instructing the two children to watch the medicine pot, Su Yun'er turned and went back into the kitchen, then her consciousness entered the game space.
Some notifications flashed in the air before my eyes, such as sign-in, harvesting ripe crops, and stealing vegetables.
Su Yun'er followed the instructions and obtained some more items and points.
After taking care of the medicine in the space, Su Yun'er planned to look after the medicine pot with Xiao Shu and also learn how to decoct medicine.
