Chapter 155 Let's Jump Over Together

"A ship is coming at us!"

The boatman struggled across the rocking gunwale and, sure enough, saw a smaller boat, now out of balance, hurtling towards him!

"Turn the rudder quickly! Turn the rudder quickly! Get the passengers on the starboard side out of the cabin!"

With a series of shouts, the crew called the passengers in the right-hand cabin out of their rooms to seek refuge in other, slightly safer places.

Gu Jingheng and his group had the largest room, which also served as a temporary resting place for some of the passengers who came in.

The children on board were crying incessantly, but their cries were completely drowned out by the raging winds and towering waves. All that could be seen were the crew members on the ship, anxiously but methodically carrying out the captain's orders.

After an unknown amount of time, the ship suddenly began to shake violently, and everyone lost their balance and fell into a heap.

Immediately afterwards, there was a dull thud, the sound of waves crashing, the cracking of wood, and people's screams and cries for help.

"Oh no, we've crashed!" Lian Yingtong exclaimed.

Almost instantly, Gu Jingheng was about to get up and rush out, but was stopped by an old lady.

"Young man, what are you going to do! Don't go, don't go, it's too dangerous!"

"Grandpa, I'm going to check if anyone is in danger. Don't worry, I know kung fu and I'll be careful."

After saying that, Gu Jingheng rushed out, with Lian Yingtong and Xu Meng following closely behind.

The old woman's eyes reddened as she held her grandson in her arms, silently praying, "May everyone be safe and sound, and may these young people be safe and sound!"

Gu Jingheng, Lian Ying, and Xu Meng headed straight for the right rear side of the ship.

Sure enough, the railings on this side of the boat had been broken, and several cabins had been smashed through. The cabins were in a mess, with rainwater and river water flooding in.

The wind and waves were so loud that the group couldn't hear each other at all. Xu Meng saw someone hanging on a section of the ship's railing that was about to break, and he quickly went over and pulled the person up.

Gu Jingheng struggled to stand, clinging to the broken gunwale, and saw a boat spinning in place on the river in front of him, blown by the wind.

You can see someone popping half their body out of the window of the ship, waving and shouting with their mouth wide open, but you can't hear what they're saying.

The captain and several crew members also shuffled over, looking at the ship with worried expressions.

"Captain, is there something wrong with our boat?"

The wind and waves were so strong that they had to shout to speak.

The boat captain wiped the water from his face: "It's alright, I just checked. It's just a few pieces of wood broken, nothing serious. But that boat lost its balance and was being blown around by the wind and rain. If this continues, it might capsize."

"Then how can we stabilize it?"

"It would take several experienced crew members; ordinary people probably couldn't control it."

"Boss, that ship is going to crash into us again!"

The boat captain immediately pulled Gu Jingheng and the others away from the place, as the spot where they were standing was probably the point of impact when the two ships collided again.

But Gu Jingheng didn't move. Instead, he grabbed the captain and said, "Take a few experienced crew members. When that ship comes crashing into us, we'll jump over together and help them stabilize it!"

"Young Master!" Lian Yingtong and Xu Meng exclaimed immediately.

The boat captain's eyes widened in shock and anger: "Are you crazy! This is risking your life!"

"If we don't keep that boat steady, it will keep crashing into us, and we'll be finished too!" Gu Jingheng gripped the boat captain's wrist tightly, his tone resolute.

The boat captain stared blankly at Gu Jingheng, then looked at the boat that was about to collide with him again, and knew that Gu Jingheng was right.

One impact to the hull is fine, but what if it happens two or three times? No one can guarantee when the storm will stop.

With a heavy heart, the boat captain turned to his men and roared, "Liu Zi! Take a few experienced brothers and jump over with me later. The rest of you, protect our boat!"

The captain was highly respected among the crew. The crew members looked at each other at first, but no one dared to question him. When the captain shouted a second time, someone immediately responded loudly.

Lian Yingtong and Xu Meng also wanted to go, but Gu Jingheng stopped them: "You are responsible for staying on the ship to provide support."

The two dared not disobey orders.

Having made preparations, Gu Jingheng and the boat captain, along with the others, assumed their ready positions as the boat drew ever closer.

Fortunately, the point of impact was the deck of the other ship, which has a larger area than the side of the ship, making it easier to land on.

With the boat captain's shout, "Jump!"

Amidst the high waves created as the two ships approached, the men suddenly leaped up and jumped onto the deck of the opposite ship!

Lian Yingtong and Xu Mengxin's hearts also tightened. Their eyes followed Gu Jingheng's figure. They saw Gu Jingheng leap high into the air, and then be swayed at a slightly different angle by the wind, rain and waves. Fortunately, he still managed to jump accurately onto the deck in the end!

The deck was slippery and the ship was rocking, making it impossible to stand steadily. Gu Jingheng lost his balance as soon as he jumped onto the deck and fell down. As the ship spun around, Gu Jingheng's body slid in an arc on the deck and crashed heavily into the gunwale. Fortunately, he was quick-witted and grabbed the gunwale with both hands. He hooked his foot onto a rope and quickly regained his balance.

At the same time, the boat captain and the others steadied themselves and groped their way to their feet.

Under the captain's command, the crew members quickly and familiarly found the tools they needed to operate and busied themselves with their tasks.

"Get inside the boat! Everyone on this boat is crammed to one side, making the boat unstable! Make them scatter!" the boatman shouted in the wind and rain.
