Su Yun'er couldn't stand the smell on her own body, so compared to the farmers of this era, she washed her bedding and clothes more frequently, was willing to use soap, and even bought incense to put in her wardrobe and chest, so her clothes smelled nice.
Although they slept on a kang (a heated brick bed), Su Yun'er preferred softer bedding. As soon as Sun Wanqing lay down, she felt herself sinking into a soft embrace. She closed her eyes and fell asleep comfortably in no time.

Sun Wanqing sat up and peered out the window. Xia Zhi was playing games with Xiao Cao, while Xiao Shu and Xiao Wen were "fighting" each waving a piece of firewood.
Xia Zhi turned around and saw Sun Wanqing: "Miss, you're awake? Did you sleep well?"
"It's alright," Sun Wanqing said, yawning as she left the window and lazily stretched.
"You're awake? Then we can prepare dinner. Little Tree, Little Grass, Little Wen, come and help," Su Yun'er said, her voice cheerful and capable.
By the time Sun Wanqing had tidied her messy hair and clothes, everyone had already set the dining table.
Five-color mixed grain rice, egg and scallion pancakes, sweet and sour radish strips, cucumber salad, cabbage salad, and two plates of eggs, which looked like duck eggs, one plate white and one plate bluish-black.
Each dish looks simple, yet they are not the kinds of food Sun Wanqing would normally eat.
Sun Wanqing said that everyone had taken their seats, but Su Yun'er was still in the kitchen and hadn't come out yet, so she went to check on her out of curiosity.
"Yun'er, why are you still busy?"
