"Young master, you mentioned last time that you wanted to find a cook, and I've brought her back today."
Then Lian Yingtong looked in the direction where Su Yun'er was.
Gu Jingheng followed his gaze and saw a familiar figure standing there.
She wore a pale yellow short-sleeved shirt, embroidered with tiny flowers and green leaves, and a light green skirt. Her hair was simply styled in a bun and wrapped with a handkerchief, giving her a simple, elegant, and neat look.
Upon seeing Gu Jingheng, Su Yun'er guessed that he must be the young master Lian Yingtong had mentioned, the one who had actually hired her.
So she stepped forward, smiling slightly as she greeted him: "Greetings, sir."
No sooner had she finished speaking than she saw the black cat in Gu Jingheng's arms.
"Gai Xue!?" she exclaimed in surprise, "Young Master, this cat..."
How did Gai Xue end up with Gu Jingheng?
"Lady Su, how did you know this cat's name is Gai Xue?" Lian Yingtong asked in surprise.
"This cat belongs to my family, and I named it Gao Xue. How could I not know it? But how did you know its name was Gai Xue?"
This time, it was Su Yun'er's turn to be surprised.
While Su Yun'er and Lian Ying were talking, Gu Jingheng watched silently.
It seemed that this woman did not recognize him.

Gu Jingheng told Su Yun'er about Gai Xue's injury. Su Yun'er was immediately heartbroken. She carefully examined the wound and saw that it was healing well and the shaved hair had grown back to an inch long before she was relieved.
Su Yun'er was there to be a cook, so she couldn't stand watching Gu Jingheng and the others chatting in the courtyard. She went back to the kitchen to continue cooking.
"We didn't buy any meat or vegetables today, so why don't you go home first, and we'll buy some tomorrow..." Xu Meng said, a hint of disappointment on his face.
Although Su Yun'er didn't understand why Xu Meng seemed to dislike her, she didn't take it to heart for the time being, since the real employer, Gu Jingheng, hadn't said anything yet.
