Chapter 8 Su Yun'er is indeed different from ordinary people

Su Yun'er was overjoyed and ran towards the car.

Upon arriving, Su Yun'er quickly retrieved the original owner's memories and learned that the person driving the carriage was Song Muqiang, the eldest son of Aunt Song.

Song Muqiang also saw Su Yun'er, and Old Mrs. Chen, whose face looked strange, on her back.

"Brother Muqiang!" Su Yun'er exclaimed excitedly.

Song Muqiang was surprised.

Su Yun'er used to not react much to people, either nodding or forcing a smile that was more like a grimace. What's wrong with her today?

However, Song Muqiang also noticed Chen's unusual behavior and knew that now was not the time to dwell on these things.

"Take your mother-in-law to see a doctor?" Song Muqiang asked briefly.

"Yes, yes, yes!" Su Yun'er replied in a string of affirmations.

"Let's go! Get in the car!"

Song Muqiang pulled the reins, turned the car around, jumped off, and helped Su Yun'er and her mother-in-law get into the car.

Then, with a flick of the whip, the oxcart began to run swiftly.

The cart was just a wooden plank cart made of wood, and it began to bounce wildly as the oxen ran. Fortunately, there was a thick layer of dry grass on the planks to cushion the impact.

Even so, Su Yun'er was still worried that the old lady might get sick from being jostled around.

She held the old woman's upper body in her arms, trying to minimize the secondary injury caused by the turbulence, while internally screaming, "I miss buses, subways, and big airplanes—!!"

The bumpy ox quickly delivered the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law to the front of a clinic in the county town.

Song Muqiang, determined to help, picked up Old Lady Chen and ran into the clinic before Su Yun'er could even speak, with Su Yun'er following closely behind.

"Doctor! My mother-in-law just fainted. Her breathing and pulse are very weak. Please take a look!" Su Yun'er said anxiously.

Seeing this, the attending physician immediately came over to check on her. After quickly taking her pulse, he hurriedly had his apprentice lead Su Yun'er and the other woman to carry Old Lady Chen to a room on the second floor of the clinic.

The doctor followed closely behind with his medical kit.

"I need to perform acupuncture on the old lady. I must do it right now. You two go outside and wait for me." After saying that, the doctor closed the door for the two of them.

Su Yun'er breathed a sigh of relief and then had time to express her gratitude to Song Muqiang.

"Thanks to you today, otherwise I would still be running halfway here." Su Yun'er said, bowing solemnly to Song Muqiang.

Song Muqiang: "..."

Looking at this solemn yet somewhat strange ceremony, he thought to himself: This Su Yun'er is indeed different from ordinary people.

"Brother Muqiang, you know my family's situation, so I won't stand on ceremony with you. I'll need your help when we get back to the village," Su Yun'er said frankly.

Upon hearing this, Song Muqiang laughed heartily: "What's the big deal? I was originally planning to wait until Grandma Chen finished her doctor's appointment before driving you back."

"Thank you so much, Brother Muqiang. I will definitely repay this favor in the future!"

Including all the favors I owed your family before.

Su Yun'er silently added a sentence in her mind.

"We're all from the same village, don't say that."

After the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, the doctor finally opened the door.

He took the handkerchief handed to him by the apprentice, washed his hands, and said to the two of them, "The patient's condition has stabilized. Just like when I last saw him, he is deficient in qi and blood, and also has spleen deficiency. He needs to be properly regulated with medicine. However, in his daily life, he should also eat more nourishing foods. He should not skip meals, nor should his diet be too monotonous. I will write you a prescription later. Follow the prescription and get the medicine. One dose a day, divided into two servings. After seven days, bring the old man back for a check-up."

Su Yun'er wrote down everything the doctor said.

"Doctor, has my mother-in-law woken up?"
