Chapter 209 What are you doing?

Chen Yourun washed all the dishes, tidied up the house, and went to the bedroom.

A moment later, Yin Lan pushed open the door. She had just finished washing up, her face flushed, but her eyes were still red.

"Why didn't you dry your hair?" Her hair was still dripping wet, so Chen Yourun picked up a handkerchief and went over to help her.

As the figure approached, Yin Lan gently hugged his lean waist, feeling his waist and abdomen stiffen instantly beneath her hands. She tilted her head back, stood on tiptoe, and then bent his neck down to kiss him.

I can't bear to part with him.

The gentle kiss quickly escalated into a passionate embrace. Chen Yourun swept him up in his arms and carried him straight to the bed. The two knelt on the bed, their eyes meeting.

The air seemed so thick that it was hard to breathe.

He was always the one to take the initiative. Yin Lan gently approached and loosened his belt.

Chen Yourun didn't need her to do such a thing, but just like what he did for her yesterday, he would be leaving tomorrow, and she didn't know if there would be such an opportunity again. Yin Lan pushed his hand away and insisted on doing so.

Before it even started, his breathing was already incredibly heavy. He gently stroked her head, his blood surging and roaring endlessly.

Just as they were about to collide.

"Brother Chen... Is Brother Chen asleep?" A low voice suddenly called out from outside.

Chen Yourun gradually regained consciousness, scooped the person down below, glanced at her flushed face, tucked her into the blanket, then dressed his disheveled clothes. After confirming that everything was alright, he pushed open the door and went out.

Yin Lan stared wide-eyed, her mind blank for a moment.

She had been bold enough to continue, but she stopped halfway through. Now, thinking back on it, she blushed with embarrassment and felt she no longer had the courage to continue.

He started to worry again. Who were the people looking for him outside? What had happened?

Lost in these random thoughts, it was quite a while before the door was pushed open again, and Chen Yourun walked in with a somewhat unpleasant expression, meeting Yin Lan's questioning gaze.

Chen Yourun was somewhat speechless.

Only when her slender white hand reached for his waist again did Chen Yourun grasp it. After a long pause, he managed to say with difficulty, "Wait a moment, I have to go." Things had changed, and he had to leave ahead of schedule.

A sudden "boom" echoed in her mind. Yin Lan looked up in disbelief. Chen Yourun didn't dare to look into her eyes, but instead lowered his head and kissed her.

Then, with difficulty, she said, "You sleep, I'll clean up."

Yin Lan got up anyway. Her clothes had already been packed. Yin Lan didn't say a word, but insisted on checking them one more time. Then she went to the kitchen and filled a lot of pig offal and other prepared food.

"No need, food will be prepared for us along the way."

Seeing Yin Lan preparing silently, Chen Yourun couldn't bring himself to say anything else.

Soon everything was ready, and footsteps could be heard outside. Although there was no urging, both of them knew it was time to leave.

I thought it would be tomorrow, but I didn't expect the separation to come so suddenly and early.

"Leave the chicken coop there, I'll clean it when I get back."

"The sheep pen is enough for now, so let them squeeze in a bit. It will be warmer in winter."

Chen Yourun looked down at Yin Lan and explained, word by word.

Yin Lan lowered her head and simply nodded without making a sound.

“I’ve already taught Da Wa and Er Wa to clean up those chicken, duck, and sheep droppings.”

"I understand, you should go now." Yin Lan nudged him.

Chen Yourun picked up the bundle, tossed it around, glanced at her again, finally sighed, and strode away.

Once everyone had disappeared, the creaking of the shaking door gradually subsided.

Yin Lan raised her head and looked around anxiously, but she could no longer see anyone. Tears that she had been holding back for a long time streamed down her face.

She raised her hand to wipe it, but the tears flowed faster than she could wipe them away, and in no time her vision was blurred.

The sobs that had been held back for so long finally escaped softly.

Suddenly, the door opened again, a steady and powerful footstep sounded, and then Yin Lan fell into a firm, warm embrace.

Chen Yourun held the person tightly, his eyes reddening, with glistening tears at the corners of his eyes.

His voice was a little hoarse, and his words were choked with emotion.

"Wait...wait for me to come back."

Then he lowered his head and kissed her forehead, followed the tear tracks and kissed away all the tears on her face, finally lingering on her lips.

Then a soft cough was heard outside the door.

Chen Yourun reluctantly let go of her, looking down at her red and swollen eyes. "I've arranged for people to watch over you. If things get chaotic outside, I'll arrange for you and the baby to leave as soon as possible. Wait for me."

After saying that, he kissed her on the lips again.

Finally, a hint of ruthlessness appeared in those sharp eyes. He turned his head, pursed his lips, and strode away.

Yin Lan rushed to the door in a few steps. The group of people walked very fast, and she only saw a tall and strong back before they disappeared around the corner.

Yin Lan stared in that direction, not knowing how long she had been standing there.

By the time she realized it was cold, her hands and feet were already ice-cold.

It was already a silent, dark night outside, without a sound.

He's gone.

This time, he's really gone.

I wonder when I'll be back?

I wonder if things will go smoothly out there? Will I get hurt?

Yin Lan's heart felt empty, like a box full of treasures that had suddenly been emptied. She couldn't find a foothold, which made her feel uneasy, fearful, and helpless.

She tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep well.

People got up as soon as it was dawn.

She sat on the edge of the bed, but no one kissed her again, told her to go back to sleep, or got up to make breakfast. Yin Lan sighed heavily, and the emptiness in her heart did not ease with the dawn; instead, it became even heavier.

Suddenly she realized that the child had gone to sleep long ago and was completely unaware that their father had already left.

Yin Lan roused herself; she still had the task of comforting the child.

I wonder if the three kids will be sad when they hear this terrible news. If they start crying, that would be bad. You can't comfort children. Once they get nervous, the sadness in my heart will actually lessen a bit.

Yin Lan hurriedly got up to make breakfast for the child. It was still dark outside, and at this hour, they were all still asleep. As soon as she opened the door, she saw that candles were already lit in the kitchen, and the sound of pots and pans clattering could be heard from inside.

Yin Lan walked over suspiciously and saw through the window that the eldest child and the second child were making breakfast.

The two little figures worked methodically, frying eggs with great skill, while the rice porridge steamed gently. They moved quietly, as if afraid of waking her.

When Yin Lan reached the door, the two children finally noticed her. The older child hurriedly came over and looked up, "Mom, why are you up? Go back to sleep." Their mother usually didn't get up at this time.

What are you doing?
