Chapter 162 Threatening Suicide

"She's fainted?" Jiang Qinyu looked at Lao Zhao, who had come to call her, in surprise.

"Yes, Madam. When Miss Yu heard that the General had asked Uncle Chen to find her a courtyard, she fainted," Old Zhao said respectfully.

Jiang Qinyu shook her head inwardly, but said aloud, "It's not appropriate for me to get involved in this matter. You should handle it yourselves, or wait until the general returns to deal with it!"

Uncle Zhao wanted her to talk to Yu Hanyan, but she refused Lu Yanzheng precisely because she didn't want to get involved in this matter. Now they wanted to dump it on her, but she wasn't that stupid.

“As the mistress of the house, Madam naturally has the right to handle this matter,” Uncle Zhao said disapprovingly.

Jiang Qinyu said, "Since you have already invited a doctor to see her, I naturally don't need to worry about her health anymore. As for the rest, the general will handle it. Uncle Zhao, please go back first."

Old Zhao wanted to say something, but seeing that Jiang Qinyu didn't seem to care at all, he could only sigh and walk back.

He walked to the main courtyard gate, and Xiao Wu hurried over, asking anxiously, "How did it go, Uncle Zhao? Did Madam agree to let Miss Yu stay?"

"What do you mean 'stay'?" Old Zhao rolled his eyes at him. "I'm going to ask Madam to handle this matter."

"Huh? Uncle Zhao, how can you be so heartless? Miss Yu is already like this, and you still want to send her away?" Xiao Wu looked at Old Zhao in shock.

Old Zhao looked him up and down, then said, "Since you care about her so much, why don't you go out of the manor with them? You can take care of them that way."

"No, Uncle Zhao, how can you say that?" Xiao Wu exclaimed anxiously. "I was born a member of the General's Mansion, and I will die a ghost of the General's Mansion! I will never leave the General's Mansion!"

Old Zhao chuckled, "You talk a good game, but look at how the general treats them, mistress and servant, and what your attitude is. You're going against the general's wishes, yet you talk as if you're loyal to him. Isn't that just making a fool of yourself?"

Xiao Wu choked, stammering for a long time before finally saying, "I just feel that Miss Yu and Ruhua are weak women. If they didn't have the protection of the General's Mansion, they probably wouldn't be able to survive in this world..."

"Alright," Old Zhao raised his hand to interrupt him, "There are so many widowed women in our army, and they're raising children and doing just fine, aren't they? Miss Yu and the others aren't any less than those other women, so are they any worse than them?"

He just couldn't understand it. Wasn't Xiao Wu usually quite clever? How come he couldn't see things clearly regarding the matter of Yu Hanyan and her servant?

Now that the general no longer wants to keep them in the manor, she's still acting like this. Isn't she trying to force the general to keep her here?

Moreover, the lady's attitude just now might be that she was sulking with the general. Look at the trouble that Yu Hanyan and her servant are causing. If the general and the lady are at odds, their sins will be huge!

Xiao Wu watched as Lao Zhao stormed off, hesitated for a long time, and finally stomped his foot and ran towards Yu Hanyan's courtyard.

He couldn't go to the madam; if she had a prejudice against Miss Yu, he would be harming her.

In Yu Hanyan's courtyard, Ruhua stood by Yu Hanyan's bedside, wiping away tears. The old doctor they had invited took Yu Hanyan's pulse and then wrote a prescription.

When Xiao Wu arrived, he saw the old doctor instructing Ru Hua to get the medicine and prepare it.

"Doctor, is Miss Yu really alright?" Looking at the unconscious Yu Hanyan, Xiao Wu asked again to confirm.

The old doctor glared at him. "Young man, I've said it several times already. The young lady in the bed is perfectly fine. Compared to the people in the city who suffer from chronic hunger and cold, she's in excellent health! If you dare to question my medical skills like this, don't invite me to your home again!"

After saying that, the old doctor turned and left.

Xiao Wu felt a little uncomfortable after what was said, but Ru Hua spoke up again at this moment.

"Fifth Brother, our young lady must have fainted because of some shock. The fact that she hasn't woken up yet must be due to excessive grief. That doctor just now... is not comparable to the imperial physicians in the capital. I don't believe what he says." Ruhua wiped away her tears and choked up as she spoke.

Xiao Wu immediately comforted her, "Miss Ruhua, don't worry. When the general returns, I will plead for you. The general isn't such a heartless person; he definitely won't send you away."

"Brother Xiao Wu, you are so kind. I will remember your great kindness for the rest of my life." Ru Hua looked at him gratefully, her eyes filled with affection.

Xiao Wu's heart raced, and he immediately looked away. "I'll go get medicine for Miss Yu. Miss Ruhua, please take good care of her."

"Thank you, Brother Wu." Ruhua handed him the prescription. "Once our girl is better, I'll treat Brother Wu to a meal."

Xiao Wu quickly waved his hand and said, "No need, you take care of Miss Yu first, I'll go get the medicine..."

After saying that, he quickly ran out.

As Xiao Wu's figure disappeared, Ru Hua's expression changed, and she turned to Yu Hanyan on the bed and said, "Miss, everyone's gone."

Yu Hanyan slowly opened her eyes, but they were already red and swollen.

Her eyes were filled with resentment. "I don't believe it's the general who wants to drive us away. It must be that the madam can't tolerate me!"

“The young lady is right,” Ruhua said bitterly. “When the madam wasn’t here, the general was never like this. But now that the madam is here, the general has not only become much colder to the young lady, but he also wants us to move out…”

"It must be her!" Yu Hanyan clenched her fists, her hands outside the blanket gleaming with hatred. "Ruhua, we can't be kicked out!"

"Don't worry, Miss, I will definitely find a way..." Ru Hua whispered in Yu Hanyan's ear for a while.

Yu Hanyan said firmly, "Alright, we'll do it your way!"
