They dug for bamboo shoots for two more days. By the fourth day, they had dug 6,000 jin (3,000 kg) of bamboo shoots! The space was almost overflowing. Luckily, Xu Han had cleared out the bathroom, which barely allowed them to fit all the bamboo shoots!
When I woke up that morning, the sky was overcast, and it looked like it was going to rain.
So the two of them stayed indoors and ate breakfast. Xu Han peeled bamboo shoots in the house. Although they had been peeling bamboo shoots in their spare time these past few nights, there were just too many bamboo shoots!
I took some winter bamboo shoots out of my space, placed them directly on the ground, peeled them, put them into the large garbage bag I had mistakenly bought earlier, and put them in my space to keep them fresh so they wouldn't get old.
Sure enough, it started to drizzle outside after only a short while of peeling!
Lu Chuan was making the shelf that Xu Han wanted. The shelf was made according to the height of the room, and it was a bit wide. It was placed in the living room near the door, against the wall, to save space!
When lunchtime arrived, Xu Han planned to cook a big meal to reward the two of them for their hard work over the past few days!
First, I took out a piece of beef to make a tomato beef brisket dish! I cut the beef into large chunks, blanched it, stir-fried it in a pot, then added tomatoes and stir-fried it together until it released its juices. Then I poured it into an earthenware pot and simmered it for an hour!
I'm making braised rabbit. The rabbit was hunted by Black Wind and Black Spot these past few days! Since we can't finish it, I'll just process it and put it in my space!
Cut the rabbit meat into small pieces, blanch it with scallions, ginger, and cooking wine to remove the gamey smell! In a separate pot, heat oil, stir-fry the rabbit meat, add chili peppers, star anise, bay leaves, cinnamon, and other seasonings, and simmer for a while! Then add potatoes, and simmer until the potatoes are soft and tender before serving!
I'm making oyster sauce lettuce! Blanch the lettuce, then pour in the pre-mixed sauce—it's simple and convenient!
Finally, let's have a bowl of seaweed and shrimp soup!
Each item comes in a large portion, so you can take out a portion of each and put it in the space. When you don't have time to cook, you can just take it out and eat it!
After lunch, Xu Han continued peeling bamboo shoots, and by mid-afternoon, Lu Chuan had finished making the shelf! The shelf was approximately 3.5 meters long, 0.8 meters wide, and 3.5 meters high! The shelves were all at different heights to accommodate different items!
Lu Chuan continued peeling bamboo shoots, while Xu Han slipped into the space to tidy up!
First, set up the shelf, then organize the daily necessities that need to be replaced regularly onto the shelf, categorizing and arranging them neatly!
Then put the seasonings on the shelf, categorizing them layer by layer, so you can see at a glance where everything is!
The storage shelves in the living room were also disassembled and placed on the shelf to categorize and secure the bottles and jars, preventing them from falling over!
Then I cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom. All the pots and pans in the kitchen were put on the shelves, and several of them now contain food! This will make them easier to access later!
Pack all the things I don't need into cardboard boxes! Luckily, I usually order a lot of packages, otherwise I wouldn't have room for all this clutter! After packing, I put the clutter at the bottom of the shelf as well!
Next, I started cleaning the living room and bedroom, first placing the bed against the wall! The 1.5-meter bed doesn't take up much space!
Then we moved the wardrobe from the living room to the bedroom! Before, the wardrobe felt cramped in the bedroom, so it was always kept in the living room! We'll put the wardrobe against the wall to save space!
Fortunately, I can control these things with my mind while in this space, otherwise I really wouldn't be able to move them!
Then take the sofa from the living room and the dressing table from the bedroom and put them in the sleeping room. Living deep in the mountains, we won't be afraid of being seen by others!
Coffee table, shoe rack, and other tables and stools were all stacked high on the bed!
Just make sure it doesn't fall down! Luckily, I bought the smaller size ones, otherwise it really wouldn't fit.
Remove modern appliances like air conditioners and washing machines, and organize the items in the space; the space instantly feels much larger!
Now that everything is stacked up and arranged, it looks like there's nothing left! In fact, it looks quite empty!
Let's move the shelves from the living room to the bedroom! There'll be room there too, and we can move the refrigerator in as well. That way, we can free up space in the living room!
The bedroom was instantly crammed full, and now all that's left is to put the things I bought into the storage space!
I put all the grain I recently bought into the bathroom. It's 1,500 pounds of grain, and the bathroom isn't even full yet!
The cotton fabrics were stuffed into the bedroom and piled on the bed, with the main goal of not wasting any space.
The shelves weren't full yet. Usually, there are a lot of these odds and ends, but they're all small items and don't take up much space.
The first shelf is filled with miscellaneous items, all packed in delivery boxes.
The second layer is filled with pots and pans, neatly arranged for easy serving of cooked food! There are quite a few of them all! Noodle bowls, soup bowls, fruit platters, and plates of different styles and designs, with several of each!
After all, what girl can resist beautiful tableware!
The third shelf is filled with skincare products, daily necessities, and seasonings! Xu Han loves to hoard things! Toilet paper, sanitary napkins, face masks, and so on—there's so much of it!
The fourth layer is filled with all sorts of handicraft supplies: cross-stitch kits, yarn, various masking tapes, washi tape, needles and thread, and just about anything else! They have everything! There's nothing Xu Han hasn't tried!
There was also a small sewing machine that I bought for myself when I was obsessed with designing clothes. It was a really good thing; I could use it to make clothes and shoes later on.
No wonder Xu Han's monthly salary was just enough to cover her expenses, and sometimes even not enough; it turns out she bought all sorts of random things!
Thankfully, we now have all these odds and ends! These are now Xu Han's guarantee for living in this world from now on.
