Chapter 250 Mutton Offal Noodles

As Mu'er grew older and learned more, Xu Han avoided using the space when she needed to.

The child is too young to tell others yet.

But who knows, after the disaster year is over, when you meet other people, you might accidentally reveal it.

Therefore, Xu Han now avoids Mu'er when using her spatial abilities.

Even when taking things out of the space, they won't take them out directly. Instead, they'll go to the kitchen or a cabinet to cover it up before taking them out.

This is also to prevent Mu'er from thinking that everyone is like that, and to prevent Mu'er from thinking that her mother can conjure up anything, thus losing her sense of how much of the things she uses daily, and to prevent her from developing a wasteful habit.

Xu Han first went to the woodshed, put everything inside into her spatial storage, and then turned around and went into the room where Lu's parents had lived before.

Since the Taoist priest and Grandpa Zhao moved out last time, this room has been empty and doesn't need to be tidied up.

I clean this room regularly, and the door is always locked, so it doesn't look dirty or messy.

Xu Han cleaned the floor and wiped the table, then took out the items from the space and arranged them neatly, trying to leave no empty space and stacking them tightly together.

After arranging the things, Xu Han turned around and went to Yunhua's room to move the furniture and other items into Zhao Yunyun's room, leaving Yunhua's room empty.

After everything was ready, it was lunchtime, so Xu Han went to the kitchen to cook lunch for everyone.

The weather feels even colder today than the past two days! The temperature has dropped considerably since the sun is gone.

So Xu Han decided to make mutton noodles for lunch today, as it would be nice and comforting to eat hot.

First, let's make a slightly firmer noodle. Xu Han used mixed grain flour, and mixed grain meat noodles are even more fragrant than white flour meat noodles.

Set the kneaded dough aside to rest for a while until it becomes smooth before rolling out the noodles.

While the dough was rising, Xu Han wasn't idle. She took out a small piece of lamb leg meat from her space, cut it into thin strips, and soaked it in water to remove the blood, so that the noodles she made later wouldn't have a fishy smell.

She took out two more lettuce heads from her spatial storage. There weren't many vegetables left in the storage now. Even though she had stockpiled a lot of vegetables, she still needed to eat them every day, so the vegetables were being eaten up quite quickly.

Let's try to plant some vegetables after it rains! If we run out of vegetables, we'll be missing a dish on the table. Eating only meat every day isn't good either; a combination of meat, vegetables, and eggs will provide a more balanced diet.

After preparing the vegetables, Xu Han called Lu Chuan to roll out the noodles. Because the dough was quite firm, and Xu Han wasn't strong enough, the noodles she rolled out weren't as chewy and delicious as the ones Lu Chuan rolled out.

Lu Chuan was rolling out dough in the kitchen when Xu Han started heating the pan, adding cooking oil, and then putting the mutton, scallions, and ginger into the pan to remove the gamey smell.

Then start stir-frying the mutton. Once the mutton is cooked, add about half a pot of water to the pot. After the water boils, you can add the noodles.

Xu Han cut the noodles into very thin pieces, then put them into the pot along with the flour used for rolling them out. This made the noodles sticky and especially fragrant.

"Dinner's ready! Come wash your hands, you can do this after you finish eating!" Xu Han called out to the outside.

"You're here! What did you eat today?" the Taoist priest asked as he walked into the kitchen.

"Lamb and offal noodles, haven't had this in a long time! I saw the weather was getting colder today, so I made some hot food," Xu Han said.

"It's been a long time since I've had this. I'll go wash my hands first. I'll take a small portion of the first bowl. I want to eat the second bowl of noodles; the second bowl is even better."

“Me too,” Lu Chuan quickly replied.

“Me too,” Grandpa Zhao said.

"Okay, I got it. I'll give you all a smaller portion for the first bowl," Xu Han replied while serving the rice.

Both the shredded pork noodles and the dried vegetable noodles taste better in the second bowl. The first bowl of noodles is not sticky, while the second bowl of noodles is thicker and more fragrant.

Everyone loves to have a second bowl of noodles, and Xu Han is no exception.

So Xu Han didn't serve much in the first bowl, but added more soup in the second bowl, which made it very comforting to eat with the thick noodles.

"Mmm! It smells so good! My mouth is watering just looking at it," Lu Chuan said, picking up a bowl of noodles.

"It's been so long since I've had shredded pork noodles. Let's have shredded pork noodles again tomorrow! I prefer sweet potato leaf and shredded pork noodles, though, I like dried vegetables even more." The Taoist priest said, slurping the noodles as he ate.

"Okay, this is simple and easy to make. We can eat it whenever we want."

"Eat~" Mu'er said, taking her own spoon and eating the noodles that Xu Han had cooled down a bit.

"Well, we've got another little foodie in our family," Grandpa Zhao said with a chuckle.

"Hahahaha, the whole family are foodies, so no one should look down on anyone else," Xu Han chimed in.

"Hahahaha. Being able to eat is a blessing; there's nothing wrong with that."

"Do you have enough flour at home? Is it enough to eat?" Lu Chuan asked.

"We still have plenty of wheat flour! But we don't have much bean flour left. Let's have the corn grind some more later! We won't be able to grind it if it rains," Xu Han said after thinking for a moment.

"Okay, take out the mixed grains in a bit, and have the corn ground up too."

"Okay! I'll get it done after I finish eating."

Luckily, we had corn at home to help with the milling; otherwise, just grinding flour for so many people would have been a huge undertaking.

Without corn to help, the group would probably be grinding flour every day and wouldn't have time to do anything else.

At this moment, Xu Han was extremely grateful that Yingzhi had bought the corn. Even when there was a drought and no water, Xu Han never thought of killing the corn to save water, and she managed to save some water for the corn to drink.

There's still a long time to go! The days without corn will definitely be even harder to endure, so I feel I can't give up corn.

Xu Han quickly finished her lunch and then said, "You all keep an eye on Mu'er. I'll go outside and gather the firewood."

Everyone instantly understood Xu Han's meaning. Knowing that Xu Han wanted to use the space to transport the firewood she had chopped that morning to the woodshed, they cooperated by keeping an eye on Mu'er and preventing him from leaving.

Xu Han went outside into the courtyard and put the straw mat that was laid under the firewood into her spatial storage, along with the firewood on top of it.

Then he went into the back room, emptied out the firewood, and said he would arrange it neatly when he had time later.

After everything was finished, there was no lunch break today, and everyone started chopping firewood at a faster pace.
