Chapter 295 Yunhua's Letter

Two more days passed, and finally on February 20th, I received a letter from Yunhua.

That morning, before Lu Chuan even left the house, he received a letter. Upon seeing it, Lu Chuan immediately showed it to everyone.

"What did the letter say? Open it and see!" Xu Han said impatiently.

Upon seeing this, Lu Chuan quickly opened the letter and read it aloud.

The letter said that it would arrive at the foot of the mountain in ten days, and that Lu Chuan would need to come and meet them and transport the saplings back by boat.

He explained that he had been quite busy lately, and that he would not be going into the mountains after Lu Chuan took the saplings, asking Lu Chuan to bring him some food when he went to transport the saplings.

"No wonder it took Yunhua so long to bring the saplings back. It's amazing that he remembered this even though he's so busy," Xu Han said with a touch of heartache after hearing the letter.

"The letter is dated five days ago, which means Yunhua will arrive in five days," Grandpa Zhao said, taking the letter from Lu Chuan and glancing at it.

"Time is running out, so I'll make a lot of food these next few days so he can take it with him on the road," Xu Han said after a moment's thought.

“Okay, I’ll take Mu’er to the hillside today. You can stay home and do your work,” Lu Chuan said.

"Forget it, let Mu'er stay at home! Mu'er is more obedient and I can take care of her."

"I've been going to the mountains with you every day lately, and look how tanned I am before summer even starts. I don't look good at all," Xu Han disagreed.

Lu Chuan looked at his eldest son and noticed that he had indeed gotten much darker. Feeling a little soft-hearted, he agreed to Xu Han's suggestion.

After Lu Chuan left, Xu Han told Mu'er to play by herself in the main room and also asked Mu'er to look after Ze'er.

"Mu'er, play by yourself in the room. Don't do anything dangerous. If you need anything, call your mother, okay?" Xu Han instructed.

"Okay, Mu'er will be good." Mu'er replied obediently.

"If your little brother wakes up and cries, you have to call for your mother too. You can't carry him by yourself, okay? He's too heavy, and you two will fall over," Xu Han said, kissing Mu'er's cheek.

Seeing that Mu'er agreed, Xu Han first went to the vegetable garden in the backyard and watered the seedlings she had grown a few days ago.

I also swept the yard clean, and then went back into the room to take the clothes and sheets I had changed out of to the backyard to wash them.

Xu Han was worried because she thought about how long it would take to do the laundry.

Turning back, he took Ze'er and Mu'er to the backyard to play.

It's safest to keep such a young child by our side; we can't be careless.

"Mu'er, you stay here and play with your building blocks. You can't run around, okay?"

Xu Han laid a straw mat on the ground, then put a clean leather mat on top of it, poured the building blocks onto the mat, and said to Mu'er.

"Okay, I want to build a big house for Mommy," Mu'er said happily when she saw her mother giving her building blocks to play with.

“Okay, Mother wants a big house like ours. Can Mu’er build it?” Xu Han asked, gathering the scattered building blocks together.

"Mu'er can do it." Mu'er said and began to build.

These building blocks were made by Lu Chuan with Xu Han's help when Mu'er was little.

They are all the simplest rectangles and squares, and there are also some irregularly shaped blocks such as triangles.

These building blocks are relatively simple, but they have the advantage of a variety of shapes. By piecing these building blocks together, you can create beautiful works of art.

Mu'er has been playing with these building blocks since she was little, and with Xu Han's guidance, she has been able to build some interesting works.

After playing for a long time, I mastered many building techniques and was able to build my own creations.

However, given their young age, the resulting artwork was not very large.

Later, Xu Han stopped paying attention to him. When she didn't have time to look after him, she would take out the building blocks and let him play by himself.

Sometimes we would give him a theme for his work and let him build it based on his own imagination.

When Xu Han or Lu Chuan had time, they would also play with building blocks with Mu'er.

Seeing that Mu'er was already engrossed in building blocks, Xu Han began to wash the large pile of clothes she had just taken out.

With more people in the family, there are more clothes and sheets to wash each time.

It takes me a long time to wash clothes every day.

Xu Han really misses all the old technological products, especially washing machines. Washing clothes every day is such a pain. If only someone could do the laundry and cleaning for her.

But for now, we can only think about it. Maybe later we can actually hire someone to help with these things.

But that's all in the future; at least for now, I still need to do these things myself.

After washing the clothes, Xu Han went to the front yard to hang them up to dry.

One by one, the freshly washed clothes were shaken flat, wrung out, and hung to dry on the clothes hangers.

Before the clothes were even finished hanging up, Xu Han heard Ze'er crying again. Seeing this, she quickly turned around and went to the backyard.

Ze'er is three months old now, and she's sleeping less and less. She's awake for a lot of the day now.

Nevertheless, Xu Han did not spoil him. When he was awake, as long as he didn't cry, she let him play by himself and didn't interfere.

If he cries, check if he has pooped or peed. If there is no physiological reason, just leave it alone.

I will only pick them up and comfort them if they cry really hard.

At first, Ze'er was very uncomfortable, and Lu Chuan felt sorry for him, but Xu Han was particularly heartless and just ignored him.

Later on, Ze'er gradually got used to it and stopped crying except for physiological needs.

Knowing that crying was useless, I gradually stopped crying.

Later, Xu Han finally managed to correct Ze'er's annoying little quirks.

After changing the routine, taking care of him became much easier. Finally, I didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to soothe him, and at least the adults could get a good rest at night.

This can be considered a good result after a long period of correction, and it was not in vain that Xu Han forced herself to be tough.

After feeding Ze'er as usual, Xu Han pushed the crib under the eaves of the house in the front yard, moved the straw mat there, and let Mu'er play with Ze'er, while she went to the kitchen to continue her work.

Upon entering the kitchen, Xu Han first took out some fruit from her spatial storage, washed it, placed it on a plate, and brought it out.

"Mu'er, Mother washed some apricots for you. They're sweet and delicious. Come and eat them." Xu Han said, her mouth full of apricots.

"Okay, I'm going to wash my hands." With that, she ran off quickly.

Xu Han took out the apricot pit and put the apricot flesh aside so that Mu'er could eat it herself in a little while.

It's not safe for children to eat fruit without pits, so Xu Han always prepares the fruit before giving it to Mu'er.

"Mu'er, you can't give this to your younger brother. After you finish eating, take the plate to the kitchen," Xu Han instructed.

"Okay, Mother." Mu'er said and started eating.

Xu Han ignored him. It had been all morning and she still hadn't made anything delicious for Yunhua. If she didn't make something soon, it would be too late.
