Upon arriving at the walnut grove, the same procedure was followed. The grove was quite large, and since the two of them had arrived early, they were able to finish picking the walnuts by mid-afternoon.
This way, I won't be late getting home today. I won't harvest the remaining walnuts from the scattered trees; I'll leave some for the small animals in the mountains to survive the winter.
At noon, after the two finished eating, they didn't rest and immediately sped up their work to finish picking so they wouldn't be late getting home.
Finally, around 3 p.m., all the walnuts were picked.
The two men and five dogs started hurrying home. In order to get home quickly, Lu Chuan and Xu Han took a long detour.
Although the road was a bit difficult to travel, it was convenient because we were traveling light and didn't need to carry much.
However, it will indeed save a lot of time. If nothing unexpected happens, the two should arrive home just as it gets dark.
Lu Chuan led the way, with Xu Han following behind. Suddenly, Peanut, carrying something in its mouth, ran towards Xu Han.
Xu Han took the thing from the peanut's mouth. The more she looked at it, the more familiar it seemed, but she just couldn't remember what it was. It was bright red and looked like some kind of seed.
Oh my! Aren't these ginseng seeds? Xu Han finally remembered, these are the ginseng seeds she often saw in videos!
To avoid making a mistake, Xu Han quickly called out to Lu Chuan in front of her, "Lu Chuan, look! What's this? Is it a ginseng seed?"
Upon hearing Xu Han's words, Lu Chuan quickly came over. He had dug up ginseng before, so he naturally recognized her.
He took the ginseng seed from Xu Han's hand, examined it carefully, and said, "It seems so. Where did you pick it?"
"Peanut gave it to me. Where did you find this, Peanut? Can you take us to see it?"
Peanut understood Xu Han's words, turned around and ran back in the direction he had just come from, and the two of them quickly followed.
Following the peanut, we passed through low bushes and went down a slope. After about three minutes, we finally saw the place.
Lu Chuan squatted down to take a look and said, "That's right! It's ginseng, and it looks to be thirty or forty years old!"
"Should we dig? Will we not survive after the drought?"
"Let's dig it up then! It'll save us from wasting it."
Xu Han agreed with Lu Chuan's statement. If a drought were to come, and it didn't rain for such a long time, everyone would surely die of thirst. It would be better to dig them up now, whether to keep them for themselves or sell them.
Xu Han was overjoyed to see the ginseng in front of her. She patted Peanut's head and immediately took out a meaty bone from her spatial storage and gave it to Peanut as a reward.
Peanut was also very happy to see its owner so happy to see this thing and to receive a reward.
Then it bit Xu Han's trouser leg, pulled her forward, and didn't forget to turn back and grab the bone that had just been given to it.
Xu Han was completely baffled. What was going on? Why was he pulling her along again? Xu Han turned to look at Lu Chuan.
Seeing that Xu Han did not move, Peanut turned back to look at her again.
"It seems to be taking you somewhere. Let's follow it and see," Lu Chuan said.
Then the two followed Peanut forward, with the other puppies hopping and skipping ahead to lead the way.
When they arrived at their destination, Xu Han was so surprised by the sight before her that she couldn't speak.
"Wait, wait, wait! I'm not seeing things, am I?" Xu Han said, rubbing her eyes.
"If I'm not mistaken, you didn't see it wrong, because I saw it too." Lu Chuan remained calm, and then tightened his grip on the machete.
The sight before my eyes was astonishing. There were dozens of ginseng plants in the distance. Anyone would be surprised, these were wild ginseng!
Lu Chuan grabbed Xu Han's hand and shielded her behind him. Generally, where there is ginseng, there are also poisonous snakes, so we must be very careful! We can't let her get bitten by a snake.
Like ginseng, snakes prefer cool, damp places without direct sunlight.
Another reason is that snakes eat mice, and mice and birds will come to eat the ginseng fruit, so snakes will quietly lie in ambush nearby.
Sure enough, not long after the two arrived, they heard Black Wind and Black Spots howling wildly.
Xu Han realized that something was wrong, so she stayed close to Lu Chuan without moving.
He also took out a machete from his spatial storage for self-defense.
Where there is ginseng, there will usually be ginseng-guarding snakes nearby. These snakes are highly venomous and can quickly damage a person's nervous system. The mortality rate after being bitten is about 80%.
Moreover, there's such a large ginseng field nearby, there must be a lot of snakes there.
Faced with this situation, neither of them dared to be careless. Xu Han took out sachets containing snakes and insects from her spatial storage and hung them on both of them. There was no time to hang them on the dog, as there simply wasn't any time for that.
Then I heard rustling sounds coming from this side, which meant that a snake was probably approaching.
Black Wind reacted quickly, immediately biting the snake's vital spot and biting hard until the snake stopped moving completely.
Seeing that the other snakes were also crawling out, he didn't know which one to attack first.
Due to the characteristics of a snake's body, its reaction is very rapid, and you can easily get bitten if you're not careful.
This was the first time Xu Han had ever seen such a scene. She forced herself to calm down, at least not to cause trouble for Lu Chuan.
He quickly took out sulfur powder from his spatial storage; it was meant to be sprinkled inside the cave where they lived, and luckily he had a lot.
At this point, this is the only way Xu Han can think of to protect herself temporarily, and she doesn't know if it will be effective.
