Chapter 13 The Third Son Who Owes Money

"Second son, it's not that I'm criticizing you, but you should at least find a wife with some guts. Looking at her like this, I think this old woman is abusing her."

"Mom, I'll talk to her later!" the second son said helplessly.

"What's the point of saying that? From now on, make her stand up straight when she speaks to me, and stop being so petty." He was about to go back inside when he saw the fourth brother enter.

"Fourth brother, have you told your eldest brother?"

"Mother, let my eldest brother tell you!"

"Useless things, hurry up and pack your things!" At least Xiao Wu knew to take his younger siblings out to dig for wild vegetables. These few unfilial sons, not one of them is any good.

When she returned, she learned that Xiao Wu had packed up his and Xiao Liu's things and then taken his younger siblings out to dig for wild vegetables. It has to be said that of her children, Xiao Wu and Xiao Qi were her favorites.

"Mother, I'm back!" the eldest son said as he entered, while Zhao Shi, holding the child behind him, no longer had the same tough demeanor as before.

"Tell me what happened. You've been gone for so long. Come in and tell me!" An Shuyi went straight into the room. She had been standing for too long and her body couldn't take it anymore.

The eldest son led Zhao inside. "Mother, my father-in-law and his family fled the famine a long time ago. I'll take Zhao back. There's no one left in the village, so I'll let her stay there."

But that wretched woman wouldn't listen. My fourth brother came looking for us; we were still in the village then. You told me to bring her back, so I did. Don't worry, Mother, if she still doesn't obey, I'll divorce her."

After saying that, she pulled Zhao Shi over from behind and said, "Quickly tell your mother that you were wrong and that you will be obedient from now on."

"Yes, Mother, I will definitely be obedient from now on and will never take any more of the family's food!" Zhao said, tears streaming down her face.

Her family is too cruel. They didn't even send a message when she fled the famine. Although she is married out, she is still her parents' daughter. They plan to cut off all contact with her in the future. Does she still have a family?

An Shuyi glared at her, "Your parents have run away, what use is the family's food to you? Hurry up and pack your things, then go help the second son's wife cook. You better behave yourself in the future, or I'll have the eldest son divorce you and get out."

"Fourth brother, go to your maternal grandparents' house and see why your third brother hasn't returned yet."

"I have to go again, Mom. I've been running around all day," the fourth son said weakly, sitting at the door.

"I cooked rice for dinner and also added ten eggs," An Shuyi said, looking at him. "Can we go now?"

"Go, Mother, I'm going right now. Be sure to wait for me for dinner." After saying that, the fourth son hurriedly ran off.

Not long after, he came running in yelling, “Mom, something’s happened! My third brother went gambling again, and the casino people came to arrest him.”

An Shuyi hurriedly stood up. Damn it, she knew this unfilial son was up to no good!

"Fourth brother, go and call your Aunt Xia over." It seems that he has no choice but to beat someone up. It's a good opportunity to earn some pocket money for Hua Hua.

"Mother, shouldn't we be looking for my Uncle Village Chief? Why are we looking for Aunt Xia?" the fourth son asked, puzzled.

"What's the point of asking so many questions? Hurry up and go, or I'll break your legs and make sure your Aunt Xia gets there faster." Otherwise, she won't be able to do the live stream after she finishes beating her.

"Yes, Mother!"

When the fourth brother ran out, An Shuyi also stood up and went out of the house.

bang*

The third brother was thrown on the ground, his face bruised and swollen, but he looked perfectly fine, so these people probably just beat him up.

The burly man leading the group slung his knife over his shoulder and said, "You must be this kid's mother. We're here to collect a debt. This kid owes our gambling den five taels of silver. How do you plan to pay him?"

"Mother, save me! They're about to beat me to death!" The third son scrambled to his feet and tried to run towards them, but was held down.

An Shuyi frowned. "Brother, could you wait a moment?" Hua Hua hasn't arrived yet!

The burly man in front frowned, looking fierce. "Sister-in-law, do you not want your son's life anymore? It's written here in black and white. You're not trying to renege on your debt, are you? There's your son's signature and fingerprint here. It can't be fake."

"Mother, I am your own son, you can't just abandon me." Seeing that she was ignoring him, the third master began to feel scared. If it were before, his mother would always take care of him no matter what, but since yesterday, his mother seemed to have become a different person, and he really couldn't be sure what to do.

“Shut up, I don’t have a son like you,” An Shuyi turned her head and continued, “I’m not denying it, I just want you to wait a moment.”

"You're not planning to wait for your village chief to come, are you? It's written in black and white. Even if the King of Heaven himself came, it wouldn't make a difference. If you don't give it to us, we'll cut off one of his hands before we talk." The burly man in front said, raising his knife to strike.

"No, Mother, save your son! I don't want to lose my hands!" the third son cried out in terror. "Mother, I'll never do it again! Save me!"

Everyone else covered their eyes in fear, and the eldest and second eldest brothers even tried to go up and stop them.

But the knife didn't strike. Instead, An Shuyi firmly gripped the back of the blade, lifted her foot, and said, "I told you to wait, why didn't you listen!"

With a thud, the burly man who was leading the group was kicked back several steps, and the knife in his hand fell into An Shuyi's hands.

"You old hag, how dare you lay a hand on me! Beat them up! And if you rob their house, I don't believe I can't get five taels of silver!" After saying that, he rushed forward, trying to snatch back his knife, but the next second, he was so frightened that he didn't dare to move.

"Grandma, no, ma'am, let's talk this out, don't get agitated!" The burly man was terrified as he looked at the knife to his neck, breaking out in a cold sweat. When did this old hag get here? He hadn't known.

An Shuyi didn't speak, but looked at Huahua who had already arrived at the courtyard gate. She had finally arrived, but it seemed that she had already finished.

"We'll accept the money, but you can't have injured my son. Consider this knife an apology, and I'll give you the money, how about that?"

"Yes, you decide. All we want is money!" As long as we take this knife away, everything will be fine.

An Shuyi took the knife off his neck. "Wait, I'll go get the money." Then she ignored him and went into the room.

After she left, the burly man touched his neck, which already had a cut. If it had been any worse, he would have died.

The others also looked terrified, never expecting their mothers-in-law to be so ruthless, daring to wield knives and even hold them to someone's neck.

An Shuyi quickly came out of the room, took out five taels of silver, and handed it to the burly man, saying, "Now that I've given you the silver, can I have the IOU now?"

"Here, this is the IOU. This kid won't owe us any more money. Farewell." After saying this, the burly man hurriedly left with his men.

"Mother, I knew you wouldn't abandon me," the third son said, getting up from the ground and hugging her leg.
