The man called the village chief hesitated for a moment, then said tremblingly, “There aren’t many women in our village. Several people share one, and then they all die. We have to go outside to kidnap women. Those women are abused. Some can’t bear the humiliation and die by hitting their heads against the wall. The rest are locked in the cellar. Our village hasn’t had a child for several years. As for those kidnapped children, they are treated as meat…”
Before he could finish speaking, An Shuyi swiftly slashed the man with her knife, killing him instantly. Now that she knew the outcome, there was no need to keep him alive. Even though he was a kidnapped child, he was so young; how could she be so cruel?
He placed the knife back against a man's neck and said, "Tell me, in this village, is there anyone who hasn't tied up women, or hasn't eaten human flesh?"
The man was so frightened that he wet his pants and couldn't speak. He could only desperately back away, and the next second, his neck was slashed.
He placed the knife back against the other man's neck, saying, "You tell me!"
"Please don't kill me, heroine," the man knelt on the ground, "I'll tell you, no, there are more than sixty people in our village. Apart from the women who were kidnapped, they were all assigned to different roles. Some were responsible for kidnapping people, and others were responsible for making meat."
"The kidnapped women were distributed by the village chief, with several people sharing one. Even the village elders were included. Our village hadn't had any children born for seven or eight years, so the remaining children were from before, around eight or nine years old. Although they were young, they could still help us coax the women back."
“Even if we kidnap those women, we’ll trick them into coming in after we bring them here. Then we’ll arrest them. If they don’t obey, we’ll just lock them up in the cellar.”
Where is the cellar?
“There’s a cellar in the woodshed in the backyard of the village chief’s house.” After saying this, the man knelt on the ground and kowtowed repeatedly, begging for mercy, “Heroine, I was wrong, please don’t kill me, I will tell you anything else you want to know.”
An Shuyi didn't want to listen to his nonsense, so she killed him directly.
Seeing the villagers lying on the ground, too afraid to make a sound, they were not spared either. They slashed the tendons in their hands and feet, and then cut their major arteries, making them feel themselves slowly dying.
Xia Hua came in at that moment. "Shu Shu, did you get any information?" She had already injured those people outside, but hadn't killed them.
“I’ve already found out,” An Shuyi said. “No one in this village, regardless of age or gender, is any good. Kidnapping people and killing them for meat are all pre-arranged. Even the children are all part of the scheme to lure women here.”
"Those women are the same. As long as someone comes here, they will lure them in. The woman who went to get water just now did that... Oh, right, there are still women they kidnapped locked up in the woodshed behind the village chief's house."
Xia Hua nodded, "Go and see how many of those women are still alive. I'll go and deal with the villagers outside." Unexpectedly, even the children weren't good.
Since that's the case, then let's not let any of them go. Just consider her ruthless. If she lets them go today, when they grow up, they will learn from their father's actions and harm other girls. Besides, there are no girls in this village, only boys.
This means that those girls were either killed at birth, or after growing up, they were assigned to several men and eventually died, with even their corpses not spared.
As soon as An Shuyi saw her leave, she went back into the house with her knife. The woman inside saw her come in and hurriedly said, "Sister, it was all my fault just now. I shouldn't have let you in, but I was forced to."
“I’m from the next village. I went up the mountain to dig for wild vegetables and was tricked into coming here by these people. If I don’t listen to them, they will beat me and I won’t be able to eat for several days. I don’t want to die. I have a husband and children waiting for me at home.”
"Sister, if you kill those people now, I can go home and find my husband and children. Thank you so much."
An Shuyi nodded. "Don't worry, I won't kill innocent people. I'll send you to see your man and child now." With the woman's happy expression, she slowly plunged the knife into her chest, watching as the woman's joy turned to panic and fear.
"You're no good at all, trying to fool me. You think I'm a child who can be easily fooled?" He pushed the corpse over, pulled out the knife, and continued walking away.
As soon as she reached the back of the house, she saw the woodshed. The door was locked, but she chopped it off with a knife. She pushed the door open and went inside. There was only a stone and a ladder inside, nothing else. She moved the stone aside and found a wooden plank underneath. She pulled the plank open and looked inside.
The cellar was quite large, and there were some people lying down below, but it was dark and not very clear. "Are the people down there still alive?"
After asking, there was no sound from inside. She wondered if they were all dead, but she could still hear breathing, which meant they were too badly injured to answer.
She brought the ladder and put it in the cellar before she started to climb down. She had only gone halfway down when the women, terrified, sat up and huddled together.
Seeing their reaction, An Shuyi guessed that they weren't dead or too badly injured; they just thought she was a woman trying to deceive them, which was why they didn't want to answer her.
Now, seeing her go down, they knew she was there to take them away, so they huddled together in fear. The man said that these were people who had disobeyed and were locked up here.
"Don't be afraid. I'm not from this village. I was tricked into coming here. Because I have some martial arts skills, my friend and I killed everyone in this village. We heard from them that you were being held here, so we came to find you."
“If you’re scared, then I won’t go down. You can come up on your own and then go home. It’s getting late tonight, and my friends and I won’t leave. We’ll stay here tonight. You can decide for yourselves whether to come out or not.”
“If you choose to come out and don’t want me to see what you look like, then run out of the village. I’m leaving now, and you can decide for yourselves.” After saying that, he climbed out of the cellar again. From beginning to end, not a single sound came from inside the cellar.
Walking back to the front yard, Hua Hua was carrying bodies out. "Hua Hua, what are you doing carrying these bodies?" I glanced at the villagers who had been in the yard earlier; they had bled to death, their eyes still wide open.
Xia Hua saw her come out and said, "I found a dry well next to the house in front. There was no water in it, so I thought I would throw these corpses in it and burn them. Otherwise, if they are left here for a long time, they will breed germs, and if so many corpses are left together, people will be terrified."
"This place is so bad, there's nowhere suitable to dump the body. The only option is to burn it. I have some oil here, and if I add some firewood, the house won't burn down." This method of destroying evidence is really good.
