Chapter 171 Mosquito Repellent Sachets

Jiang Wanwan tucked the brown sugar into her sleeve, opened the door, and went into the room next door where Jiang Jialin and Lu Shi lived.

Knock knock knock!

Jiang Wanwan curled her fingers and gently knocked on the door.

"Father, Mother, are you asleep? I've come over to apply some medicated wine."

To avoid others from overthinking, Jiang Wanwan had no choice but to use the excuse of applying medicine to cover up the matter.

"Not yet." Lu's voice came from inside the house, and then the door was opened from the inside.

Madam Lu asked anxiously, "Wanwan, is your knee hurting again? Come in quickly so your father and mother can apply medicine to it."

As he spoke, he carefully helped Jiang Wanwan into the house.

After the door was tightly closed, Jiang Wanwan took out a pound of brown sugar from her sleeve and stuffed it directly into Lu's hand.

Madam Lu looked down and was somewhat stunned. "This is...?"

Jiang Wanwan lowered her voice and whispered, "Mother, my injuries are nothing serious. I was just talking nonsense. This pound of brown sugar is for you to nourish your body. Please keep it safe."

Upon hearing this, Madam Lu quickly declined, "No, Mother can't accept it. You're weak; you should keep it for yourself to nourish your body."

Jiang Wanwan pouted, her eyes reddened, and she said aggrievedly, "Mother really doesn't treat Wanwan like her own daughter, that's why she refuses to accept the brown sugar."

The Lu couple couldn't bear to see their daughter suffer. Seeing their daughter like this, Jiang Jialin and Mrs. Lu were heartbroken.

Jiang Jialin advised, "Mingzhu, you should accept it. It's a token of your daughter's filial piety."

Madam Lu nodded and hurriedly snatched the brown sugar away, saying, "Put it away! Mother will put it away! Don't cry, it breaks my heart to see you crying."

Jiang Wanwan immediately smiled and said, "Hehe, Mother could have just taken it earlier."

She had her father and mother's weakness in a way; as long as she pouted and looked at them pitifully, they would be helpless against her.

"Father, Mother, it's getting late. You two should get some rest. I'm going back to my room to rest too."

After saying goodbye, Jiang Wanwan went back inside.

Before going to bed, Jiang Wanwan remembered the mosquito-repellent sachet she had bought for eight coins. She wanted to test its effectiveness, so she took the sachet out of her basket and put it on her bed.

She slept soundly without any dreams, but she still woke up several times during the night, mainly from mosquito bites.

The next morning, Jiang Wanwan slowly woke up.

She looked at the sachet beside her pillow, then at the red bags on her arms and legs, and instead of being angry, she was quite happy.

This shows that mosquito repellent sachets are not only expensive, but also very ineffective.

As a result, mosquito coils were indeed very popular in ancient times!

She rolled out of bed and headed straight for the kitchen.

At this moment, Madam Zhu was already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. Upon seeing Jiang Wanwan, Madam Zhu smiled and said, "Wanwan, why are you up so early? Your second aunt hasn't made breakfast yet."

"Second Aunt, what's for breakfast?" Jiang Wanwan asked.

"Well, it's naturally bran and wild vegetable porridge. We'll make some cold dishes later to eat with the porridge," Zhu replied.

"Where's the millet at home? Doesn't Grandma give you some to make porridge?"

Zhu was stirring the porridge in the pot with a spatula when she heard Jiang Wanwan's words. She paused, looked up at Jiang Wanwan, and said, "Your grandma said that we had rice and pork belly yesterday, so we don't need to eat too much for breakfast. Otherwise, if we eat it all at once, we'll only be able to eat dry, hard porridge from now on."

Jiang Wanwan: ......

The rice and grains we bought shouldn't have been given to her through the breastfeeding tube, otherwise she would have been fed pig food!

Having tasted the delightful flavor of rice yesterday, she could no longer tolerate eating coarse grains and wild vegetables.

She picked up a wooden basin from beside the stove and walked towards the east room.

"Bang bang bang!"

"Grandma, please open the door quickly. I need to get some millet to make porridge."
