After watching Madam Lu and Jiang Jialin leave through the gate, Uncle Jiang and Old Lady Jiang breathed a sigh of relief.
A clear, melodious voice drifted over. "Grandma, Second Uncle, you seem to really want my father and mother to leave. Are you plotting something wicked?"

The soup, which was boiled again with added water, tasted a bit bland, but it still had a meaty flavor. The Jiang family didn't mind at all; they all ate it with gusto, their mouths greasy and completely satisfied.
After the Jiang family had finished eating and drinking, Old Madam Jiang put down her chopsticks, a smile on her face, and said, "I have something important to announce—"
