Chapter 182 I have something important to announce

After watching Madam Lu and Jiang Jialin leave through the gate, Uncle Jiang and Old Lady Jiang breathed a sigh of relief.

A clear, melodious voice drifted over. "Grandma, Second Uncle, you seem to really want my father and mother to leave. Are you plotting something wicked?"

"Ah!" Grandma Jiang was startled and exclaimed in surprise.

She turned around and glared at Jiang Wanwan, her eyes looking somewhat guilty. "You brat, what bad idea could you possibly have? What nonsense are you thinking! Grandma just doesn't want to part with that hundred coins, there's nothing wrong with that!"

“That’s right. Wan’er, don’t you know your grandma? She’s practically obsessed with money,” Uncle Jiang said.

Upon hearing this, Grandma Jiang's eyes widened.

What does it mean to be obsessed with money?

It's all for the sake of the Jiang family!

"Oh~ Is that really so?" Jiang Wanwan blinked her bright, peach-blossom eyes, looking at the two of them with clear, bright eyes.

"That's it. What else could it be?" After saying that, Grandma Jiang quickly went back to the east room.

"Ah? Liu'er's luggage isn't packed yet. I'll go back and help." Uncle Jiang said this and left as well.

The two felt a chill run down their spines, as if Jiang Wanwan had seen through them, and they felt extremely guilty.

Jiang Wanwan smiled. Ha, if anyone dared to harm her, even her own grandmother and second uncle, she wouldn't let them get away with it.

"Hey, what are these black things? Wanwan, did you make them?" Hu Shi, who had just finished washing the dishes, came out of the kitchen and immediately saw the mosquito coils drying in the yard.

Jiang Wanwan walked over and said, "Yes, my brother and I made it."

Curious, Mrs. Hu asked, "What are the uses of this?"

"Yes, it can repel mosquitoes. I saw it in a book by chance, so I thought I'd give it a try. I don't know if it will work."

"So it's for repelling mosquitoes. Wan'er, you're skillful and clever, so the things you make will definitely be good." Madam Hu praised, "After you finish making them, give your aunt a couple of rolls to try as well."

“No problem, it will be ready in the sun for another noon. I’ll have to trouble you, Auntie, to test it out for me then,” Jiang Wanwan said.

"Alright, give me one roll to try. Summer mosquitoes are the most annoying thing, they bother people day and night and make it hard to sleep. If it really works, that would be great." Mrs. Hu laughed heartily.

Upon hearing the noise, Jiang He and the other three rushed out, shouting, "We want it! We want it too!"

A moment later, the group asked again, puzzled, "What do you want? Is it edible?"

Hu and Jiang Wanwan exchanged a glance and couldn't help but laugh.

The sun began to set in the west, and the whole afternoon passed just like that.

Today and tomorrow it's the turn of the three families to do the housework. Since Madam Lu and Jiang Jialin were sent away by Old Madam Jiang, the housework fell to the eldest family.

Uncle Jiang and Mrs. Hu didn't have any disagreements, but Jiang Wanwan felt bad not helping out.

While preparing dinner, she assisted Hu in the kitchen.

We ate coarse flour pancakes for dinner.

I added a few ladles of water to the leftover soup from lunch, along with some wild mushrooms, and simmered it for a while, turning it into another pot of soup.

Although dinner consisted of coarse flour pancakes, they were fried with plenty of lard, and served with a bowl of soup. I was so happy I felt like I was bubbling with joy.

The soup, which was boiled again with added water, tasted a bit bland, but it still had a meaty flavor. The Jiang family didn't mind at all; they all ate it with gusto, their mouths greasy and completely satisfied.

After the Jiang family had finished eating and drinking, Old Madam Jiang put down her chopsticks, a smile on her face, and said, "I have something important to announce—"
