Chapter 28 Your Aunt Will Stand Up for You

Su Wanwan chatted with Aunt Chen and her daughter while drinking tea.

Seeing Su Wanwan calmly drinking her tea, Aunt Chen couldn't sit still any longer.

She was very curious about how Jiang Wan'er got Hu to give birth to a son.

Aunt Chen put down her teacup, wiped her mouth with a handkerchief, and then said, "Wanwan, you said in Madam's courtyard today that Jiang Wan'er could help Madam give birth to a son? Is that true?"

Su Wanwan smiled, put down her teacup, and looked at Aunt Chen. "Of course it's true. Wan'er told me herself. Judging from her confident demeanor, it's almost certainly true. You see, Mother has tacitly agreed to it today, hasn't she?"

Not only that, Wan'er also said that she was confident she could help her mother regain her father's favor and make the concubines live on...

Su Wanwan's words trailed off abruptly. She bit her lip, gently pounded her head, and fell silent. "Auntie, I, I, I... I didn't say that, it was... it was..."

Aunt Chen raised her hand to interrupt Su Wanwan, her face flushed red, and she trembled with anger. "Wanwan, you don't need to explain to your aunt. Your aunt knows that these words must have been said to you by that wild girl Jiang Wan'er."

"Hmph, at such a young age, she already knows what it means to live like a widow! She really is a country bumpkin, utterly uncouth!"

Having lived a long life, Aunt Chen could naturally guess what Su Wanwan was about to say.

Su Er slammed down her teacup and angrily cursed, "Bah! Jiang Wan'er, is it? How dare she? An unmarried young lady, she actually has the nerve to tell my mother that she can give birth to a son and win my father's favor. How can a proper young lady say such things!"

A sense of crisis welled up in the hearts of both Aunt Chen and Su Er. If Hu Shi really gave birth to a son, then her son/brother's position in the General's Mansion would be greatly threatened.

They absolutely cannot allow this to happen!

Su Wanwan looked up, glanced at Aunt Chen and Su Er, moved her pink lips, but ultimately closed her mouth and remained silent.

Aunt Chen grew anxious, feeling that Su Wanwan must have some important news she hadn't told her.

As the saying goes, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will win every battle."

So Aunt Chen urged, "Wanwan, say what you have to say, don't keep it to yourself."

Su Wanwan bit her lip, looking at Aunt Chen with difficulty, "Aunt, I, I, I can't say."

"Wanwan, you can tell your aunt anything, and your aunt will make the decision for you."

"Yes, Sixth Sister, you can tell your aunt what you want to say. Father dotes on your aunt, so she can help you talk to him."

Aunt Chen and Su Er kept urging her, both believing that Su Wanwan must still have important news to share.

Su Wanwan glanced at the two of them and chuckled. "You two begged me to say it, not that I insisted on saying it."

"Then, I'll tell you."

"Speak."

"Speak quickly, Sixth Sister."

"The night before last, my sister Wan'er came to my courtyard to have tea and chat. Strangely enough, she kept mentioning my brother, the Crown Prince, as if she was trying to find out his preferences." Su Wanwan frowned, pretending to try hard to recall the scene.

Seeing the shocked and angry expressions on Aunt Chen and her daughter's faces, Su Wanwan smiled, then quickly suppressed the smile. Finally, she added, "Perhaps I'm overthinking it; maybe Wan'er is just curious."

She had only uttered that one sentence, yet it instantly ignited the anger of Aunt Chen and her daughter—
