Then, Jiang Wanwan simply picked up the bowl of eggs on the table.
"Uncle, you should eat too."
Since the man Grandma Jiang just gave the egg to was Uncle Jiang the Second, then this honest-looking man must be Uncle Jiang the First. Uncle Jiang's face was tanned dark, and his hands were covered in calluses, showing that he had worked hard in the fields.
She smiled and said, "Uncle, you've done the most work for this family member. You've worked hard. Have some eggs to nourish yourself."
"Okay, okay, thank you so much, Wanwan." Uncle Jiang's eyes welled up with tears. Finally, someone in the family recognized his efforts. Waaah~~
Grandma Jiang moved her lips, but still didn't speak. However, the look in her eyes as she stared at Jiang Wanwan seemed to want to devour her.
"Auntie, you've worked hard too. You must have done a lot of chores around the house." As she spoke, she put a small piece of egg into the bowl of the woman sitting next to Uncle Jiang.
Aunt Jiang's eyelids twitched, glancing at her mother-in-law's face, which was as dark as the bottom of a pot. She pursed her lips, but still managed a smile as she replied, "Thank you, Wanwan, Auntie."
She had long resented her mother-in-law for secretly favoring the second wife's family. The first wife's family did the most work but ate the least, while the second wife's family did little work but ate just as much.
She had made sarcastic remarks about her mother-in-law many times, both openly and subtly, but her mother-in-law showed no restraint. She would always retort, "Hey, Liu'er and Hu'er are your own nephews. If they're successful, won't you benefit from their success in the future?"
Seeing her mother-in-law so angry at her newly returned niece, she felt a surge of indescribable satisfaction.
Next were two boys sitting on the same bench as Uncle Jiang and Aunt Jiang. They must be Uncle Jiang's sons.
There are four benches in front of the Jiang family's dining table. The two elders sit on one bench, and the other three benches are used by the family.
Jiang Wanwan picked up a small piece of egg for each of them and smiled sweetly, "Hehehe, brothers, you should eat some eggs to nourish yourselves."
These two cousins are very strong, one of them is as big as a small mountain. They are both tanned dark, and they look like they've done a lot of work.
The two boys were somewhat flattered, as no other boy of their generation had ever shared food with them before.
This younger sister looks quite nice too.
Next up is the second wife's family.
Compared to the sallow and thin faces of the rest of the Jiang family, the four members of the second branch had rounder faces. It was obvious to everyone that Old Mrs. Jiang didn't usually give them any special treatment.
Grandma Jiang had already served eggs to Uncle Jiang and the boy named Liu'er. Jiang Wanwan only put a small piece of egg into the bowls of Aunt Jiang and the other boy.
As for Second Uncle and Liu'er, they didn't have a single piece.
With a flick of her wrist, she brought the basin to Jiang Jialin and Lu Mingzhu. She used her chopsticks to scoop the eggs into their bowls, and instantly all the eggs in the basin ended up in their bowls.
Meeting the murderous glare of Old Madam Jiang, Jiang Wanwan exclaimed in shock, "Ah, my hand was shaking."
Before Grandma Jiang could speak, Jiang Wanwan interjected, "Dad, Mom, you should eat quickly. I'm sure Grandma won't say anything to you. Dad, you earn the most money for this family, so Grandma won't say anything if you eat a few more eggs, right, Grandma?"
As she spoke, Jiang Wanwan turned to look at Grandma Jiang.
Grandma Jiang was furious!
You've said everything, good and bad, so what can she say?
Would she dare say it's bad? Wouldn't that just give her the reputation of bullying the first and third wives?
"Hehe, yes. Eldest brother and third brother, you should eat more to nourish yourselves. I was just about to put eggs on your plates, but Wanwan beat me to it."
The eldest and third branches of the Jiang family knew perfectly well that in the past, this bowl of eggs would have ended up in the stomachs of the second branch's family.
What can they do?
Who can blame them when someone has a scholar among their ranks?
