Lightning Mom rolled her eyes at Lightning Dad, then turned to the shifty-eyed man, scrutinized him carefully, and asked, "Where's the delivery receipt?"
The shifty-eyed man glanced around in his eye sockets and immediately pulled out a prepared "delivery slip" to show to Lightning Girl.
Lightning Girl carefully examined the man and, after confirming there were no problems, said, "I'll take you to get the goods!"
Just as Lightning Girl led the shifty-eyed man towards the warehouse, the shifty-eyed man lightly patted his chest and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright, just sign here!"
After finishing her second inventory, Lightning Girl said to the shifty-eyed man, "Alright, the goods are all here. Sign here. Can you carry all this stuff? Where's your carriage? Do you need me to find someone to help you carry it up?"
The shifty-eyed man shook his head repeatedly, quickly signed his name on the booklet, and then disappeared into Lujia Village with the packed goods in a flash.
Lightning Girl watched the shifty-eyed man disappear without taking the matter to heart.
Not far from Lujia Village, there is a thatched house that is almost collapsing.
"Brother, I got the goods!" The speaker was the shifty-eyed man.
The man he called "Big Brother" was looking around warily, and after confirming that no one was following the shifty-eyed man, he asked cautiously, "We weren't discovered, were we?"
"No, no, those people are incredibly stupid! I forged a similar delivery note and they took the goods without even checking it!" the shifty-eyed man said, carefully placing the goods on the ground.
“Alright, you’re a good kid. I’ll give you a bigger share when we make some money. This thing is too conspicuous in the county. Tomorrow we’ll take the waterway to Yecheng. It’s a remote place, far from the emperor’s reach. These country bumpkins definitely won’t know about it!” the older brother said.
The shifty-eyed man nodded repeatedly after hearing this, praising his brother's brilliance...
The next morning, Jiang Ling brought her two children, Jiang Yaojie and Nianci, to the dock.
Shen Qianhe had already instructed the ship's captain to arrange a first-class suite for Jiang Ling, so that she wouldn't suffer while adrift at sea for several days. He also made special arrangements for her meals during those days.
The ship slowly sailed away from the dock, and Jiang Ling lay comfortably in her room eating fruit.
However, the taste of these fruits was just so-so. Jiang Ling planned to secretly buy some fruit from the mall and plant them in her backyard after she finished her work, so that she could eat the fruits she wanted in the fall.
Just as Jiang Ling was lost in thought, Jiang Yaojie suddenly pushed open her door. Seeing his somewhat nervous expression, Jiang Ling asked curiously, "Yaojie, what's wrong?"
Jiang Yaojie ran to the table and drank the water in his teacup in one gulp. After sitting down and catching his breath for a long time, he slowly said to Jiang Ling, "Mom, I saw our shampoo!"
Hearing this, Jiang Ling smiled faintly and said, "What's there to be curious about? Our shampoo has been selling very well lately; it's not surprising that it's sold all the way to Ye City!"
"No, Mother, I'm sure I don't know those two people!" Jiang Yaojie said with a straight face.
Seeing that Jiang Yaojie didn't seem to want to lie, Jiang Ling quickly stuffed the peeled orange into Nianci's hand, put on her shoes, and walked over to Jiang Yaojie, asking, "Yaojie, what exactly happened?"
"I went downstairs for some fresh air and found a shampoo box with our label in the cabin. I've never seen those two people before. They seemed to be discussing something, and their eyes were obviously off!" Jiang Yaojie recounted what he had seen in a rambling manner.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Ling frowned deeply. Without a delivery note, it was impossible to pick up the goods. Each delivery note was only issued by Jiang Ling and Jiang Yaojie. Moreover, most customers paid a deposit and then paid the balance upon delivery. Only a very few regular customers would pay in full and then send someone to pick up the goods when they were shipped.
Thinking of this, Jiang Ling whispered, "Yaojie, could these two people be servants of the old employer?"
Without a second thought, Jiang Yaojie immediately shook his head in denial: "Impossible! I've seen all the servants under those regular customers. I was worried someone might impersonate them, so the old employer specifically told me that only those servants could pick up the goods! I've never seen those two people before! What should we do, Mother? Will our things be lost?"
Jiang Yaojie was still a child, and he blushed as he spoke, with beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.
"Don't worry, Yaojie, your mother is here. If those two are really thieves, your mother has a way to deal with them. You rest here for a while, and I'll be right back!" Jiang Ling comforted Jiang Yaojie and then walked towards the cabin.
As soon as she stepped down the stairs, Jiang Ling's gaze locked onto the innermost part of the cabin, where she saw two men looking around erratically. One man was fat and the other thin, one tall and the other short. The tall, fat man was easily recognizable by a black mole the size of a thumbnail on his face.
Next to them was a packaging box with the words "Produced by Jiang's".
Jiang Ling composed herself and walked over to the two men, tentatively asking, "Big brother, is this shampoo?"
Jiang Ling's words immediately alerted the two men, who instinctively shielded themselves with their belongings and asked warily, "Who...who are you?"
Jiang Ling kept her eyes fixed on them, and judging from their movements, she immediately concluded that the two men were definitely thieves. But how could they steal something right under Jiang Ling's nose? She hadn't figured it out yet.
But that's not the point right now. Jiang Ling smiled faintly and said, "Don't misunderstand, I've heard of this stuff before. It's said to be many times better than bath soap or wood ash for washing hair, but unfortunately it's too expensive, and I don't have much money, so..."
At this point, Jiang Ling deliberately put on a troubled expression and glanced longingly at the shampoo that the man was blocking.
Upon hearing Jiang Ling's words, the two men immediately perked up. The man with the mole on his face gestured for silence and whispered to Jiang Ling, "Young lady, this shampoo is indeed excellent. We are fortunate to have been given some by a gentleman. Since we have met, it must be fate. From what you said earlier, you should know how expensive this stuff usually is. How about we sell you a bottle for one or two taels of silver today?"
"One tael of silver? You've got a real knack for making a fortune with no investment!" Jiang Ling thought to herself with a cold smile after hearing the price.
"Yes, one tael of silver is indeed a good deal. Please wait for me, brothers, while I go to my husband to get the money!" Since this is not modern times and there are no cameras or video cameras, Jiang Ling cannot immediately take pictures of the evidence. She can only find a way herself.
Turning around and going upstairs, Jiang Ling didn't go back. Instead, she hid in the corner and bought a blue marker from the mall, then put a dot under her silver coin.
Then, pretending nothing had happened, he walked out again.
"Brothers, here is one tael of silver, please keep it safe!" Jiang Ling carefully placed the marked silver in the tall, fat man's hand.
The tall, fat man did not immediately put the silver away as Jiang Ling had expected.
He held the silver and carefully examined it through the window, finally fixing his gaze on the mark Jiang Ling had made beneath it.
"Hmm? Where is this?" the tall, fat man asked Jiang Ling warily.
